"That's enough." Tyson carefully grabbed hold of Chi's shoulders and pushed him away. He did not want to hurt the man so he tried to be as calm as he could. The fact that the man was hugging him was something he was not use to. People did not usually openly express themselves with him in such a manner.
"I'm sorry." Chi replied as he tried to laugh his nervousness away slightly. Feeling embarrassed over what he'd just done he could no longer look at Tyson directly. His eyes faced the door as if he was debating on retreating before things got worse.
"I'm fine, alright? See?" Tyson took his hand and lifted Chi's face so that he would look at him. The scared look in his eyes almost felt like he had scolded a small animal. Frightened as he looked in the situation he still gave off an expression that felt like Tyson was being sucked in. With his mind beginning to blur he knew he had to retreat from Chi's presence before he did something reckless. The man was too innocent to understand how easily he could rope people around his finger if he wanted to.
"Tyson?" Chi tried to get his attention when he realized the man was beginning to space out. It was not like him to lose focus so easily in a conversation. At the very least he would find some way to dodge giving a proper answer to something but he never completely spaced out before.
"Little rabbit, you really do have no warning signal in that head of yours." A faint laugh escaped him as Tyson stepped away and sat on the floor. His back pressed against the wooden bed behind him. Gazing up at Chi he watched as the man came over and sat down beside him.
"Do I need one with you?" Chi asked without understanding the meaning behind Tyson's words. Trust was something he had in Tyson so he could not understand what warning he would need when it came to him. He felt at ease around him.
Tyson could only laugh quietly to himself at the naive question. There were tons of reasons he felt the man could use more caution for when around him. When it came to himself he knew he was a dangerous man. No one over the years in the garden would agree with anything other then the fact that he was dangerous to be around. Dirty as his hands were he was surprised he had not lost his mind long ago worse then he had.
"Hey, do you think we're from the same world?" Chi asked as he suddenly slouched against Tyson's shoulder. All the exhaustion was beginning to catch up to him. Not sure of how much longer he could keep his eyes open he wanted to try and have a normal conversation with Tyson. It did not matter to him how simple it was.
"No. I don't." Tyson rejected the question right away. There was a chance that they were from the same world but he was not going to admit that to Chi. The thought of someone else being from the same world as him was something he did not want to consider. If he had to see someone outside of the garden that he knew was a survivor as well he felt it would destroy what little normal life he had left out there.
"Oh.." Chi sounded dejected by his response. He had meant no harm by the question but the fact that Tyson rejected it so quick and so bluntly gave him a tinge of pain in his chest that he could not explain. He did not know why the fact that Tyson rejected his question hurt him so much.
Taking a moment to silently think to himself Chi got a random idea in his head. Pulling the hand written textbook from Tyson he ripped a blank page from it. He could see the pale white expression on his face as if he had defiled it. That had been the oldest textbook he had written in Numen's Garden and yet Chi had ripped a page clean from it. The page had no words on it but the fact that it was his made him want to scold the man.
"What are you doing?" Tyson asked while his brow twitched. Annoyed that the man would do such a thing without asking him first.
Without answering him Chi crawled to the book shelf to grab a quill and ink. Sitting it on the floor and scribbling down something on it. Once he was done he made sure the ink dried well. Folding it up before moving back to where he was sitting before. He stuffed the piece of paper into Tyson's hands with a smile.
"What is this?" Tyson's voice was still annoyed as he lifted it up and glared at it. The paper was folded neatly as if Chi had put a lot of care into the work of folding it. Since he was so determined about it Tyson could only wonder what secret was being kept on it.
"Well.. if we do make it out of the garden alive that's where you can find me. If we're from the same world of course.." Chi shrugged slightly as he forced himself to accept that they might not be. Of course in the back of his mind he also considered the fact that he could not make it home at all.
"Rubbish. Why would I want to find a decrepit little rabbit like you outside this dimension?" Tyson said as he tossed the paper away and right onto the floor. He could see the look in Chi's eyes as if he had been wronged some how but the man was too tired to complain back.
"What.." Chi started to speak but was cut off.
"You take my bed." He stated bluntly in order to stop any further conversation on the matter.
"What about you though?" Chi asked while Tyson was already ushering him onto the bed. Being the only bed in the entire mansion that had a proper cushioned top to sleep on it felt wrong to Chi to take it for himself. The bed itself belonged to Tyson after all.
"I don't need to sleep yet." Tyson said as he stood up to leave the room. He could already hear the sounds of Chi dozing off against his will from how exhausted he was. Pausing in the doorway he glanced back out of the corner of his eye at the folded up piece of paper Chi had scribbled down on.
