Hours felt like they'd passed by while Tyson trained Chi below the waterfall. A large serpent wrapped around the area they worked at to form a ring shape so that nothing could get to them. Regardless of how calm Tyson usually was with Chi when it came to training he would not hold himself back from scolding Chi when he had a mishap. Swinging his sword or guiding him in meditation under the falling water of the waterfall above he pushed every fiber of the man. He wanted to ensure his body and capabilities were pushed and grew as quick as possible so that he would not have to worry so much over him risking his life.
Tyson knew that compared to his years of survival that Chi would not reach the same height as him in skill but anything he could gain would help close that gap just a bit more. The hours of work they put forward would not do much right away but as days went on he was sure the man would gain something useful even if it was minimal. Being a quick learner as well Chi was able to catch on and require fewer and fewer pushes in the right direction because he was becoming able to pick up on things himself.
"Again!" Tyson shouted while wielding his dual blade in front of him.
"Yes!" Chi responded and moved himself forward in Tyson's direction.
As he swung his silver blade down his motions wavered slightly out of worry that he could accidentally wound Tyson. Vibrations could be felt in his hands as the steel collided with that of the dual blade's own. Sparks could be seen in the air as steel scraped against steel. With the motion of Tyson pushing Chi backward with their blades he found his back getting closer to the serpent's body.
"We'll stop here for now." Tyson said as he retracted his weapon.
"I can continue!" Chi shouted at him determined to keep going regardless of how exhausted he felt.
Looking at the man Tyson knew he was pushing his limits already and if they continued he could break the man. He was not willing to kill the man by him collapsing when the whole point was to help extend his chances of survival. Walking over to him he sat his palm on top of the man's hair and gazed at him. Trying to understand his determination was impossible for Tyson but he could not refute the idea that he was once just as determined to learn if not more stubborn.
"We'll stop here, little rabbit. Rabbits can not become savage wolves. I do not expect you to learn to become some savage wolf. I simply want to see you live longer then I do." Tyson's voice was calm and soothing to Chi. Helping him to calm down a bit and accept the fact that he needed a break to relax himself before continuing.
Chi watched as Tyson walked over to the waterfall and sat down. Crossing his legs and closing his eyes as the man meditated under the falling water of the waterfall behind him. Contemplating for a moment to go over sit next to him he decided against it. He did not want to interrupt Tyson's moment of peace. A picture perfect scene in front of him he simply took in the sight for a moment before turning to look around the area.
Walking away from the waterfall, serpent, and Tyson he made his way into the trees a bit further away. Knowing he was already pushing himself past the breaking point he could not help himself in the end. Not wanting to be a burden he pushed himself to continue practicing out of Tyson's sight. Feeling that he would only get told to rest more if he stayed under his sight he would take the chance to continue while Tyson was meditating.
Every swing of the sword was heavy for the man. He had never wielded a weapon before in his world. Everything about it was foreign to him no matter how quick of a learner he was. Confidence in himself was something that he lacked but his heart carried a strong will to see it through to the bitter end. If he could not be useful and help protect those around him he did not know what the point of him staying by their side was.
Being the first time since he had come to Numen's Garden that he had stood alone and out of sight from others' eyes the harsh reality of everything he had gone in from the very day began to sink in. So much had happened to him even if he did find things beautiful in some areas that did not mean he did not feel the pain. He simply kept it suppressed for the sake of the others so that they would not toss him aside. Putting all his emotions into his silver blade he swung it throughout the air with grace that he had not shown before. Aching from head to toe his will did not waver in the least as he pushed on.
Not sure how long he was working alone he eventually sunk that silver sword into the ground and collapsed to his knees. Frail as he was he could still not realize how hard he'd worked himself until he was already unable to stand any longer. Knowing he should get up and go find Tyson before the man began to worry he could not find the strength to move. He could only allow himself to collapse onto his back in the knee high grass with the sword by his side.
Off in the distance a bit under the hanging leaves of a tree a pair of golden eyes watched over Chi. Tyson could actually see him clear as day because the moment the man walked off on his own he had followed him. Giving him privacy he had simply kept his distance to watch over him. With years under his feet surviving in the garden he wanted to allow him some time to himself. Not willing to rob Chi of what little freedom he had to make his own choices and privacy because he knew what it was like to lose it all. Even after he saw the man lay down and fall asleep he did not go to him. Sitting there perched atop a tree where he could see him, he watched over Chi in secret so that nothing bad could befall the man while he took a chance at a peaceful rest.
