What many did not know about the Village of Lost Souls was that at the boundary of it one could find a cave entrance that lead to an underground cave system. Very few every stumbled across it and the few that did were not usually prepared for what they had to deal with inside it. Not lasting long enough to tell the tale of the system itself. The only reason Tyson knew about it was because Loe had used the place to train him during his first year. Out of sight and out of mind of the other survivors he had not dealt with many survivors during his days in the under ground caves.
Hidden behind a lot of shrubbery and massive boulders the entrance was hard to find unless one knew what they were looking for. The cave was large enough that the chariot was able to push straight through the shrubs and rush right inside. Winding pathways filled the cave system as the horse rushed along without a hint of slowing. Loe knew the system well because it looped around towards the village allowing him access. There were not many places he could go but it was one of the few he could reach so he naturally explored it every given chance.
Even some of the white orbs from lost souls floated about the air of the cave lighting it up. Clear pink and blue crystal lined the cave walls all the way to the ceiling above them. Blue crystals giving off a bit of a glow from all the energy that had absorbed from souls that had begun to deplete. Leaning over the side of the chariot Chi could see a river that ran below the pathway they were traveling down. Within the river were large serpents that resembled sixty foot long anacondas but their green scales reflected the lights and gave off a sparkling glow about them. He tried to remember what Tyson said about even the beautiful things were deadly and refrained from getting over excited but everything about the place seemed to make his heart race.
Letting out a sigh Chi leaned back in his seat and tried to calm himself down. Everything before him was something he never thought he'd see in his lifetime. No matter how deadly it was suppose to be he could not help but see the beauty in front of him.
"You can look. Just be careful, little rabbit. Don't want you to fall overboard." Tyson said calmly as he could tell from the look on Chi's face that he was holding himself back from getting worked up.
"I wouldn't fall overboard." Chi got worked up and jumped to his feet in the chariot.
A faint smile curled up on Loe's face as he cleared his throat, listening to their little spat with each other. While he was clearing his throat the chariot's wheel went over a large rock causing Chi to loose his balance. His body stumbling about as Tyson's heart panicked and quickly grabbed Chi's arm so that when he fell he landed on top of his lap. Their face's mere inches apart as they stared at each other. Tyson's face masked behind that demonic mask of his blocked the sight of what he really looked like but that did not stop Chi's face from flushing red. There was no way for him to tell how Tyson took him landing on his lap in the slightest so he could only conclude that he was the only one who felt flustered by the accident.
"Sorry!" Chi shouted as he slammed his palms against Tyson's chest in order to remove himself from the man as quickly as possible. He knew what Tyson looked like under that mask and the thought of their faces being so close was something his heart could not take. It felt as if his heart was going to pound out of his chest.
"I warned you to be careful." Tyson scolded even though Chi was not the one he wanted to yell at. Without a need to turn to Loe he knew the man had done that deliberately to mess with them.
"We're almost there." Loe said joyfully. Knowing that Tyson would not speak a word about him doing that on purpose out loud in front of them to avoid making matters more awkward within their group.
"Alright!" Chi and Fae both responded in unison while Fae bore a paled expression at what had just happened in front of him. Fae's face twitching from how annoyed he felt inside.
As the horse drawn chariot left the end of the cave tunnel trail they entered an underground clearing that was lush with large trees and plant life that looked like someone had pulled it straight from a dream. Grass stood tall enough to reach one's kneecap while the treetops leaves were so long and large that they hung like willow trees. The ceiling to the underground was so high up and lit up with crystals and wandering souls so that it gave off the air as if they were standing under a simple night sky watching shooting stars as the souls floated about. Sounds of water trickling by from the river could be heard as it connected into the clearing before them.
Crossing over a wooden bridge they could see a hand built mansion in front of them. It was a home that Loe had built himself hundreds of years ago to reside in when there were no survivors to keep watch of over his village from. It was lined in beds of various flower and plant life that he had gardened himself. Down to the last detail everything about the building was old fashioned as he did not have electricity and had to build everything himself by hand from the trees around them. Old as the mansion was it was like his second home when he was able to get away from the Village of Lost Souls. It was not far to travel by his horse drawn chariot but on foot it would have taken days for a normal person to reach.
"Your room is just as you left it the last time you came. The other two can sleep anywhere you want to toss them." Loe said with a smile as he brought the chariot to a stop in front of the place. If it was anyone else he would have never allowed them anywhere near his home but for the sake of Tyson he was willing to hold himself back and allow them access as long as they did not upset the balance of his area of protection. He had to refrain from speaking his opinion on where to have the pair rest though because with the home being personally build by him top to bottom he was tempted to make them both sleep outside.
