The next day, exiting the brick tunnel way...
In Numen's Garden it was impossible to know what time of day it was. The sky as they left the tunnel was a blood red color and at the random times you would see lightning strike the sky. It was bright like morning but at the same time it felt as though it was late in the afternoon. Neither Fae nor Chi could understand what time range it was into the day by the time they were leaving the tunnel. They were certain they had been walking for a few hours in the tunnel since they woke up to find the exit.
CLANG CLANG CLANG
"It's about damn time." Valhalla laughed as he spoke while walking towards them as they came out.
Both of their faces paled at the sight of him. Sweat began to drip form Chi's temple as he debated on what to do. There was no way that he could fight off Valhalla so he would have to depend on Fae to figure something out for them. Fae knew that he would have to be the one taking the stand against the man because Chi wasn't capable of going against someone like Valhalla on his own. He grit his teeth as he watched the man tighten his grip on the scythe in his hand.
Th-Thump! Th-Thump!
Fae's eyes shifted slightly for a moment as he heard the sound of the beating heart that had aided them last night. It only lasted a moment before fading away from his hearing back into silence and becoming replaced with the sound of the scythe in Valhalla's hand clanging against the terrain. Before he had time to react the man was rushing towards him with the scythe held high and a smile on his face to show he was enjoying himself.
Th-Thump! Th-Thump! Th-Thump! Th-Thump!
Fae did not have time to think as he heard the beating of that same heart once again but this time it was more frantic as if to alert him of it's location loud and clear. He could only take a chance or he would end up getting both him and Chi killed trying to protect the boy on his own. His figure vanishing in thin air in the blink of an eye he was in front of Chi. Raising his foot high he sent Chi flying backwards with a hard kick. Chi's body flying backwards away from the battle between Fae and Valhalla in a blur of pink and purple. The only thing Chi could see from the speed his body flew was the fading sight of Fae as the man turned around to block the impact of the incoming scythe as it sliced downward for him.
Chi's back collided against something firm and warm. Turning to see what he had landed against his yes locked with the black mask of the man who had called him weak just yesterday. His face flushed at the fact that the man was now currently placing his hands on Chi's sides to hold him in place where he had landed against the man in black. Those four red eyes on the mask stared down blankly at Chi, impossible to tell what the man was thinking.
"Decrepit. Little. Rabbit." Tyson sighed as he spoke from under his mask at the young man he was holding onto.
"What the hell is your problem with me?!" Chi could not help but shout out his frustration at the masked man's unnecessary comment. He thought for a moment that he felt Tyson's body flinch at his harsh shout though his mind was more focused on the fact that Fae was still in the distance fighting Valhalla alone.
"I don't have one, little rabbit." Tyson said as he hoisted Chi over his shoulder. The way that he was holding Chi had his rear facing the front while Chi's waistline was over his shoulder causing his chest to knock against Tyson's back as he walked away from Fae's direction with Chi frantically in a panic for Fae's safety.
"Wait! Fae's back there fighting!" Chi shouted as he tried to wiggle free from the hold Tyson had on him but it was no use.
"Little rabbit, your friend is safer without you for now. He'll catch up once he takes care of the mutt." Tyson's voice sounded harsh and cold coming through the mask on his face. It was not that he was lying because he really did see Fae being able to take care of Valhalla on his own as long as he was not distracted.
"Stop calling me that!" Chi scolded as his face blushed bright red from being called a rabbit. The position he was in did not make him feel any more comfortable either at the fact the man kept calling him a little rabbit.
Suddenly a large bang came from the direction that Fae and Valhalla was in. A massive amount of dirt and smoke was wafting up into the air in the distance where they had left. From a glance it was obvious that Fae was in the middle of a fight for his life. Chi could not help but worry about Fae but at the same time he could not stop his heart from racing at the fact that his rear end was in the air being carried awkwardly by this man.
I think I'd rather they had killed me... He thought to himself as his bright red face bumped against Tyson's back. In his mind he felt as though he was the only one who found the situation weird because the sound of casual humming could be heard coming from the demonic mask above that the man was wearing. It wasn't even something simple.. the man was humming something that sounded like it might be a pop song from the local radio in his home world!
"Would you stop with the music!" Chi shouted out once more in order to just quiet the man's loud humming. His face twitching at the unwanted background music to his twisted and embarrassing situation.
