Trudging through the mountainside together the three of them son found themselves approaching an abandoned house. The house was old and run down to the point that it was obvious nobody had lived in it for years. Tyson knew better then anyone that in fact nobody had ever lived in the house because it was simply another addition to the garden's terrain that Numen had added in for the effect of the hunt. He himself had already ended many lives over the years in similar places.
Taking the handle with his hand he slammed his shoulder against the door. Breaking the door open so that they could enter the house he carefully kept himself alert in case there was someone else already hidden within the home. Not even the sound of breathing could be heard from Tyson as he had long ago learned to suppress his own body from releasing sounds he did not permit himself to. It was his own self training over the years that had even allowed him to become able to slow his own heart rate to the point he could hide himself from Fae so easily. Once he was certain there was nobody else inside he casually raised his hand to motion for Fae and Chi to enter behind him.
"Why is there a house in the middle of the mountains?" Chi asked while looking around the place. There was many things around the place that made it look lived in but once looked at closer there were no pictures, personal belongings, or anything that showed someone actually lived in it at all. It had all the basic furniture like a home but lacked everything that truly called out to them that it had ever really had someone in it.
What am I doing? I only wanted to watch because I was curious how they would deal with Valhalla and now I'm helping the both of them hide.. Tyson thought to himself as he pondered why he was still helping the both of them. He did not want to get attached to other people and knew it could lead him into dangerous situations down the road if he was not careful. There was something about Chi that just drew him in and before he knew it he was already with the both of them.
"You're asking about a house in the mountains here when we've been pulled into a new dimension but some mad god?" Fae sighed as he held his temples with his hand. The whole situation they were in was enough to stress him out and yet Chi was still asking questions about the smallest of details.
"Props." Tyson responded simply to Chi from across the room as he walked over to a window. The curtains were pulled shut so he simply used a finger to peak out through a small crack in order to minimize his exposure to anyone on the outside that might stumble across the place.
"What do you mean?" Chi was the one who asked by Fae looked over at Tyson as well while they both waited for the man to answer.
"Numen has done it for years during the event. He decorates the terrain in various ways. He'll add in anything from villages and swamps to anything else you can think of. What he attaches to the terrain is what he feels like watching from the comfort of his own observation room." Tyson never once looked over to them as he spoke. His mind was already lost in memories of the past experiences he had with Numen's Garden. Watching one person after another fall in a fight for survival over the years had numbed him to the core. Recalling the very first time he entered the garden he could still see her face clear in his memory.
"Tyson? Are you alright?" Chi asked as he carefully made his way over to the man. Silence had enveloped Tyson as he stood there with his demon mask hiding his face so that neither Chi nor Fae could make out the expression behind his silence.
"Leave him alone, Chi. We have to be careful who we're with anyways so if you act all carefree with him you don't know what might become of you. He probably just fell asleep standing there.. I've seen those types before. Hunters who had reached a point they could remain standing and alert while shutting themselves down to rest." Fae scoffed as he walked over to the living room couch to lay down. A part of him felt like Tyson was harmless to Chi. At the same time he felt like Tyson was a dangerous man who hid many secrets under that mask of his.
"I don't know.. I think there's more to him that we just don't understand." Chi said as he leaned in towards Tyson's mask. Staring into the mask he wanted to see the face behind it once more. He wanted to understand why someone who looked the way Tyson did would choose to hide himself away under something so dark.
"Chi! What are you doing?" Fae asked as he sat up quickly when he noticed the boy's hand reaching out to touch Tyson's demonic mask. Getting to his feet he rushed over and grasped hold of Chi's wrist firm to stop him before he could get near it.
"I was just curious." Chi said with a look as if he had been wronged some how. Not understanding what he had done to get scolded by Fae he retracted his hand and stepped away from the both of them. His mind was racing over everything though he realized his action might had been a bit much.
"If he really is on guard while sleeping he could have killed you if you startled him, Chi. Think more next time before you do something like that in here!" Fae scolded Chi as a sigh left him. One thing was for sure to Fae as he stood near Tyson's sleeping form. The man might have fallen asleep while standing but, even though he was able to easily hide himself when awake, whatever the man dreamed about at that time standing there was causing Tyson to grind his teeth roughly.
