Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

"Little Rabbit, if you continue to stare at this wolf like that you might just get eaten." Tyson muttered out as his eyes slowly opened to see Chi's face gazing down at him. The expression that swept across the man's face when he was caught staring at him was enough to cause a faint exhale from Tyson as a smile slowly began to form on his face. Before he could completely finish that smile, however, his demon mask was slammed back down on his face hard.

"I'm not a rabbit!" Chi shouted as he slammed the mask down onto Tyson's face. His brow twitched as he could hear the man beginning to faintly laugh from under that mask that covered the true beauty below it. He was not sure why Tyson would cover his face with something so dark when he had nothing worth hiding beneath it.

"Right.. right.." Tyson just repeated the same word over and over quietly at Chi's remark as he sat there fixing his mask. Slowly his face tilted up as he gazed up at the sky and wondered what time of day it was. Since they had no sense of day or night in Numen's Garden he could only judge a situation by whether or not they needed rest but after what they just went through he was certain Chi had to be feeling worn out already. The physical blow from falling over the waterfall was enough that even Tyson was aching and considered the option of finding somewhere to relax a bit.

"Chi, there you are!" The sound of Fae's shout could be heard loud and clear from a distance as the vampire came rushing up in their direction.

Just glancing at him was enough to see that he looked rejuvenated and it was enough for Tyson to know clearly what had happened between Fae and Valhalla. It was just as Tyson had expected of the vampire when he first saw him. His instincts on knowing the vampire could fend well for himself was not wrong and made him wonder just how deep Fae really could be. The cold look in Fae's eyes as he glanced over at Tyson where he sat made a faint smile appear on his face below his mask that Fae could not see. Knowing the vampire felt threatened by him being around was something that he could only suppress a laugh at.

"I expected you to look after Chi when I kicked him to you not to go diving with him. What if the kid catches ill out here?" Fae scolded Tyson though the fact that Tyson was not in the least reacting to it made him only feel angrier. If he had known something so risky would have happened to Chi he never would have sent Chi away with Tyson from the start.

"I dislike the sound of barking dogs." Tyson muttered from below his mask while turning his head away from the man and climbed to his feet. As he stood up he could see Fae taking a step back from him unsure of what Tyson's intentions were. The very fact that Fae feared him was something that he would normally find entertaining because anyone who knew who he was in Numen's Garden would be struck with fear in his presence but he was not in the mood to play around with the vampire when things were changing among the realm. Becoming the number one survivor of this place was not something simple and yet Tyson held that rank and was even favored by the god himself that brought him back each and every year.

"What are you doing?" Fae asked with a shaken voice as he tried to determine whether or not Tyson was going to act against him or not. Being in Numen's Garden made him well aware that he had to be cautious of everyone other then himself. The only person Fae held a bit of trust in was Chi and that was because the man was as innocent as a rabbit to the point that being around him gave him the urge to protect and watch over him.

"I hate to tell you, but I have no interest in you. Bark as loud as you want," Tyson leaned in close to Fae's shoulder and spoke lowly so that Chi could not hear his next words. "if you loose to that desire of yours with Chi around I will behead you personally."

"I would never-" Fae clicked his tongue against his teeth as the very thought of him harming Chi was something he could not take seriously. There was no part of Fae that wanted to bring harm to Chi but for a starving vampire he and Tyson both knew that the risk was there regardless of his own personal feelings on the matter.

"A starving wolf can not give up on easy prey." Tyson spoke as he turned and began to walk away from both Chi and Fae.

Before Fae could speak up about his remark he saw the man was already walking away. A breath of relief washed over him momentarily until he caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye as Chi rushed past him. The boy was chasing after Tyson from behind like a lost little puppy. The sight in front of him caused his teeth to grind together slightly until he heard Chi's voice calling out to him.

"Fae! Let's go!" Chi called back to Fae with a wave of his hand in the air to get his attention. When it came to being self aware of his surroundings it felt like Chi was the worst one at realizing the situation.

"I'm coming." Fae spoke up calmly before rushing up beside Chi so that they could walk shoulder by shoulder with Tyson in front of them leading the way. Tugging at the sides of his black jacket he gazed at Chi from the side with his own red eyes. He was not sure why they were following after someone like Tyson but as long as Chi was safe he did not care in the least. If things got troublesome in the future then he would solve the problem when that time came.
