Evan felt like he had been walking for hours. Evan had expected to find Alphaeus the moment that Isaiah had teleported him.
All Evan had found, however, was a wasteland full of asteroids and scattered moons. Evan walked along with Excalibur sheathed.
He had his hands behind his head and was feeling relaxed. When will this dude show up? Evan had no sooner thought this than someone jumped out from behind some rocks and slashed at him.
Evan did a backflip to avoid it and landed on the ground, backing up several steps. "There you are," Evan growled. He immediately drew Excalibur and held it at the ready.
Alphaeus held his sword at the ready. Evan did a double-take. Alphaeus's sword was much different than it had been before.
The handle was off-center and in the place where the blade guard should be, was a ring. The blade of the sword was considerably wider than his old sword and seemed to be an extension of the ring.
"I see you've noticed my new sword, do you like it?" Alphaeus said smugly. "It won't help you win against me," Evan replied, firmly. Evan tightened his grip on Excalibur and lunged at Alphaeus.
Alphaeus held his sword in front of him and blocked Evan's slash. Evan slashed once again. Alphaeus slashed simultaneously, causing their swords to clash and sending down a shower of sparks.
Evan froze time. Alphaeus had foreseen this coming and skipped the time that Evan had stopped, teleporting himself forward simultaneously.
Evan blocked Alphaeus's slash with Excalibur. Alphaeus jumped up and slashed downwards, forcing Evan to hold Excalibur up to block it.
Alphaeus skipped time once more, reappearing at Evan's side. Evan slashed with Excalibur, pushing Alphaeus back. Evan then dashed at Alphaeus.
Alphaeus mirrored the motion. The two met in the middle, their blades clashing and creating a shower of sparks.
The two pushed off each other. Evan slid back and then dashed at Alphaeus again with Alphaeus doing the same. This happened over and over again until Evan was able to knock Alphaeus up.
Evan jumped after Alphaeus. "Cross slash!" Evan yelled. He slashed five times, with Alphaeus blocking every strike.
Evan raised Excalibur and swung it down. Alphaeus raised his sword and blocked the hit, but was propelled into the ground as a result.
Alphaeus hit the ground and immediately skipped the time it would take Evan to get there, teleporting above him when he did so. Evan looked up in shock as Alphaeus brought the sword down.
He was able to raise Excalibur in time and deflect the hit. Alphaeus was unfazed by this. He landed on the ground and repeatedly slashed at Evan.
Evan stomped his foot. A row of swords plunged up from the ground, displacing Alphaeus. Evan grabbed one of the swords and ran at the airborne Alphaeus.
"Octaslash!" he yelled, jumping upwards and slashing eight times with his swords. Alphaeus had some difficulty blocking these attacks.
Evan took heart from this and continued his assault. I need to find an opening to use chronobreak Omni slash, he thought as he slashed at Alphaeus.
Evan poured some of his energy into his blade. The blade crackled with energy. "Lighting buster," Evan yelled, slashing six times in front of him.
Alphaeus was able to block all six attacks, however, the final slash broke his guard. "Now," Evan yelled.
Evan raised his hand at Alphaeus and orange chains flew from it. The chains wrapped around Alphaeus and disappeared. Alphaeus froze in place.
Evan knocked him into the air. Evan jumped up after him. Evan raised seven swords along with him. He jumped to a sword, leaving Excalibur hovering beside Alphaeus. Evan grabbed the sword and slashed through Alphaeus.
The slash carried him to another sword. Evan grabbed the sword, leaving the other in its place. Evan slashed through Alphaeus once more.
Once he reached the other sword, he swapped it with the sword he had in his hands and slashed through Alphaeus again. Evan repeated this move 21 more times before finally going to the middle.
He grabbed Excalibur and slammed it into Alphaeus's chest, plummeting to the ground with Alphaeus being pulled by the blade. "Chronobreak!!" Evan yelled as they hit the ground.
The orange chains that had been binding Alphaeus reappeared and shattered, creating a massive explosion that cracked the asteroid.
Evan stood up as his swords fell around him and stabbed into the ground. "I told you you wouldn't beat me," Evan said. He turned around and began to walk away. "Didn't anyone teach you never to turn away from your opponents, boy?" Alphaeus asked.
Evan whipped around to see Alphaeus standing there. His clothes were shredded and he was covered in lacerations. "I don't believe I ever showed you what my new sword can do," Alphaeus continued with a sneer. Alphaeus held up his sword.
The blade split, exposing the inside of the ring. Orange energy welled up inside the ring and a blade of energy extended from the energy. "This is the Monado," Alphaeus yelled, swinging the sword.
Evan felt a wave of energy pass over him as Alphaeus swung the sword. Lunged for Evan. Evan raised Excalibur to block the hit. The blades collided, producing orange electrical arcs that traveled up Excalibur.
Though the strike itself wasn't particularly strong, Evan was sent flying back. Evan slid along the ground as orange energy crackled along his blade.
Alphaeus pointed the Monado at Evan. "Come, face your doom," Alphaeus taunted.
