The lady proceeded and Oceania followed behind. She looked at the rooms which had numbers on their doors, she must admit that everything here looked lavish. At the farthest corner, the woman stopped and opened the last room. She then got inside and Oceania followed her.
The room looked awesome, with a well-spread bed, a wardrobe and beautiful curtains, bedside lamps, and a television.
"This is the cheapest room we have here, not many guests like it because it's small, you'll live here in the meantime, but, you'll have to pay for it.... don't worry I'll just deduct it from your salary before I pay you... you are lucky enough to be here anyway." She said looking at her.
"Now just go and freshen up, don't forget to scrub yourself well, I'll send someone to get you the uniform you'll need and maybe a night dress... Before I forget you should be up before seven, and don't make me come for you" she said and then left, slamming the door behind her.
Once she left, Oceania sniffed herself, her hair her hands, and her clothes, did she smell that bad? Why was the lady repeating her bad smell? She felt that she was seeing just fine, just the way she smells every day. Do fish smell bad? She had lived among fishes all her life and she has never felt that before. Well if the woman was talking about having expensive perfumes that smell nice then she didn't have any. She looked at the bedside lamp and it was ten pm. She had nine hours to sleep. She looked around the room scanning everything. She saw the Tv but didn't know how it worked. Even the lights she didn't know how to turn them off and on. Before she could explore everything, there was a knock on the door. She went ahead and opened it only to find a girl her age at the door, with some clothes in her hands.
"Hey, I'm Jennie, and madam told me to bring you these," she said with a warm smile. She has a very beautiful smile and talked so nicely.
Oceania looked at her and looked at the clothes in her hands, she then took them.
"Thank you," she said and waited for the girl to leave. The girl kept on standing there.
"What's your name?" she asked again but kindly. She was looking at Oceania with pity.
"I'm O... Oh I'm Gianna" she had wanted to say her real name but was sure that it would bring doubts about what kind of name it was, so the better option was to use a name from a story she had read.
"Nice name, you are so pretty by the way and I love your long long hair, it's very pretty too... I saw how you were walking earlier and you must be tired, need something to freshen you up? Like a drink or water and some food? I can get you any of those" From the way the girl was talking, she was a kind one, with a good heart. How could she know when she knew that she was starving?
"Do you guys have berries? I'd love to have them maybe?" she asked politely and the girl smiled.
"So you love fruits, huh, lemme go sneak you some and snacks before madam sees me" she then left quickly.
Oceania was now a bit confused. The woman had said that she smelled like a fish and was disgusted to be around her but this girl said nothing, she was okay, she wasn't rude and didn't say anything to hurt her. Maybe not all humans are bad anyway. She then remembered that she had to take a shower. She locked the door but not with keys and placed the uniform on the bed. There was a pair of sleeping pajamas on top of it and a new towel.
She removed the clothes she was wearing and then went to the bathroom. She didn't know how to use the shower so she used the jacuzzi, fuller it with water, and then got inside. She had been told to scrub herself well and that's what she was going to do. She didn't want to get kicked out of there because she needed a place to stay before deciding on what next. She took almost thirty minutes to clean up. There were unused shower gels and hair shampoos in the bathroom so they took advantage of them.
Once she was done taking a bath, she heard a knock on the door and there was no doubt who that was.
"I'm sorry I took so long... Just that I didn't see you come with anything so I went to the mall nearby and bought you some of the personal things you will need, I'm not sure if you'll like them or if they will fit you perfectly but I just wanted to help" she said handing over a big shipping bag full of things to Oceania.
"And here are your fruits and snacks" she handed another small bag to her.
"Hey, thanks for this I appreciate it, this means a lot to me... do you wanna come in?" she asked and Jennie nodded.
She still had the towel on but first decided to see what Jennie had brought for her. There were bras and panties and some trousers and tops. She hadn't even thought of the fact that she would be needing inner wears.
"Hey, can I use the inner wears?... I mean do I have to wash them first? She asked Jennie who was seated on the bed.
"No, actually they are brand new, and trust me they are super clean, you can wear them right now," she said smiling.
Oceania took one and then the pajamas, changed in the bathroom then came and sat on the bed with Jennie. She ate the fruits first and then tried the other snacks Jennie had bought only to find out that they were so sweet, especially the chocolates. Jennie was full of life and laughed at jokes that she made. She even made Oceania watch some tv shows with her. It was a good thing that she had made a friend in one day right? Before she left, Jennie promised her that she would wake her up the next day, because if she was late then it meant that there was no place for her there. After locking the door, she opened the curtains and glared at the beautiful sea, good thing she was in a room where she was able to see it. One more glance and she went to sleep, hoping to next day will draw her closer to what she wants.
