Chapter 11 - Shape shifters

Simon was roaming around Alaska. He saw a person who was staggering along the wall seemingly drunk. It had been nearly three weeks since he had fed on blood. He was trying to control his blood thirst so that he could keep more blood for his attacks and to prepare for situations where he might not have a supply of blood.

Simon followed the man jumping from roof to roof of the buildings barely making a sound, he start to creep up on the man and was about to bite him when his senses tingled. He immediately rushed back to see a huge wolf taking the man away.

A middle aged man came infront of him and looked at him with hate and disgust, "you dare hunt in our territory? You filthy bloodsucker."

Simon understood what had happened, the area he was hunting in was the territory of these shape shifters. "My apologies. You must be the alpha of your pack. You don't need to mind me I just a traveler and was unaware that this was your territory."

The man narrowed his eyes, "surely you can't expect me to believe the words of a leech. And even if you weren't you don't believe that we will just let you go to kill others, do you?"

"So, it's useless to talk."

"Indeed."

Right as these words came out of his mouth two wolf pounced on him. However, Simon was faster and with his decades of experience he dodged their attack quite easily.

The alpha saw how sleek and fast Simon's reaction were and warned his pack members.

"Stay alert, he's got more experience than any of you don't be fooled by his young appearance."

Simon ran, he really didn't want to fight right now. His travels had been quite enjoyable so far without any unnecessary killing and he had hoped to keep it this way so he hoped to outrun them. But the damn wolves were insistent on fighting him. Simon ran inside the forest just to be met with another wolf. The wolf clawed his cheek a bit which caused a yellow venom to flow out. Simon finally decided that it was necessary to kill them to soothe his anger. He stopped as a dangerous glint flashed in his eyes.

"Fine. You damn dogs you wanted a fight I'll give it you."

Simon looked at the five wolves who had surrounded him. He used his ability and manipulated their blood at which they started to falter as they felt great pain that threatened to kill them if it continued. Simon didn't let this chance go and immediately crystallized the blood of a wolf which caused it's organs to be damaged and bleed out internally.

The rest of the wolves saw this and attacked Simon trying to bite and claw off his limbs. Simon was strong but wasn't omnipotent he got injured venom was leaking from his wounds. He rushed to the wolf he had just killed, tore it open and used it blood to attack the rest of the wolves with blood bullets which successfully killed another two wolves and injured the rest. Simon used the rest of the blood to make knives, the weapon he was most familiar with and darted towards one of the two wolves he pushed the knife into it's skull and traced the spine killing it immediately.

Now only one wolf remained, it whimpered and retreated slowly, "hey wait can we talk about this. I didn't even want to fight you I was forced by the others." The wolf changed back into a man.

Simon just looked at him and nodded upwards. The man not wanting to stay near him any longer rushed away. Simon just looked at the running wolf and the wolf exploded. Simon had used his blood manipulation to make his blood explode this killing him.

"Pathetic. Just pathetic." Simon walked away shaking his head. After some steps he stopped and looked at the wolves.

"Can I drink their blood? I don't it'll be too different after all they're just humans with abilities."

Simon bit the nearest wolf sucked it's blood and after a minute or two he let go.

"Hmm, there isn't much difference to the taste but I did feel that it made me stronger compared to the blood of a normal human. I guess the only difference is in the nutritional value which makes sense as they are an evolved form of humans."
