Chapter 15 - Date and the kiss

After showing all the passage ways to Simon, Jane stopped in front of a room. "This will be your permanent room from now on, the things you would require would have to be requested or you can purchase them yourself from the market."

Simon nodded and opened the door. He saw the old fashioned room made of large stones and a single window giving a breathtaking view. It was empty waiting for it's owner to fill it up with the things he desired. He made up a interior design in his mind and decided to go to the market himself.

"Any thing else you want to know?"

"Yes."

"Hmm." Jane looked up at him.

Simon took a step closer, "where is your room?"

"Two rooms to the left." Not questioning why he wanted to know the location of her room.

"I see. Well, I've decided to fill the room by myself but I don't know the market."

"I'll take you there in an hour as I have some duties to fulfill."

"Thank you."

"It's not a problem. After all, you are my partner." Jane emphasized on the word partner.

"Well then I'll see you in an hour."

Jane nodded and left the room right then Simon appeared behind her and blew in her ear, "oh and it's a date." Closing the door before he could receive an answer.

Jane stood still, her mind processing what had happened. After standing still for a minute or so she rushed towards her room.

Simon and Jane were walking around they had just passed the Roman Theatre. The density of people had started to increase. Simon held Jane's hand, "don't want to get separated from my partner or I'll be lost."

Jane snorted, "vampires have heightened senses and a sharp memory which would help you easily find me and even if you couldn't you won't get lost." But her body was more honest than her words as the hand squeezed Simon's hand tighter getting a more firm grip.

"Whatever you say, my lady." Simon smiled and continued to walk his finger intertwined with Jane's.

They had spent quite some time exploring the city, just walking hand in hand in the comfortable silence between them that broke occasionally when Simon teased Jane.

"You know during my travels I came across a superstition that said if you walk towards the moon with your eyes closed you will have good luck for the next day."

"You still believe in such things?" Jane asked before closing her eyes. She tried to remember the position of the moon but before she could take a single step, she felt something soft touch her lips for a moment then reluctantly part away from them. Without any time to withdraw her mind from its far places, Simon's arms wrapped around her.

Jane felt rush of helplessness, the sinking yielding, the surging tide of warmth that left her limp. And the face of the man holding her was blurred and drowned to nothingness.

Simon knew that if he kissed this girl again his mind would never be the same again, it would become intoxicated with her. So he waited, listening to the tuning fork that had been struck upon a star. Then he bent back her head across his arm and kissed her, softly at first, and then with a swift gradation of intensity that made her cling to him as the only solid thing in a dizzy swaying world.

His insistent mouth was parting her shaking lips, sending wild tremors along her nerves, evoking from her sensations she had never known she was capable of feeling. And before a swimming giddiness spun her round and round, she knew that she was kissing him back.

The moonlight shone upon them as if time itself had stopped right there, as they stood against each other keeping the other from falling, glued to one another. For them no one else existed and nothing else mattered more than enjoying each other's taste. Both wondering why had they met so late, why had they been wasting their lives never seeking each other before.

Simon shuddered and there was a sound from the back of his throat, half growl, half moan. Little shivers of pleasure and panic shot through Jane as he deepened the kiss. Simon stopped thinking pushed himself even near Jane as if trying to merge into her, sealing the tiny space between them. Jane too pressed herself against him, digging her fingers into his hair. Enjoying the soft, silky texture.

Giddiness took over both of them as they mirrored a dumbstruck smile, when they finally parted. The cold face of Jane was nowhere to be seen instead her eyes shined bright clearly indicating their thoughts were aligned. They didn't know what this rush was, what the other's lips brought, but they both confirmed it through their eyes; they wanted more.

A/N: I used many bestsellers for reference for the kiss, so some of you may notice the similarities.
