Wexler was once again surprised that Caesar knew about the secret 4th type of Miracle drug. This was something that not a lot of people knew about. Even he, the owner and founder of the black market with a wide range of connections, only knew about this type of Miracle drug by accident.
Wexler's obvious face of surprise was something that he could not hide, so he knew that Caesar was smart enough to know that he was hiding something. So, he decided to just tell the truth.
"I was not trying to hide this information from you with malice. I simply omitted this information as I deemed it to be useless."
Useless? How could this type of ultra rare Miracle drug be useless?
"This is because no one had ever seen this type of Miracle drug before. It is merely a myth and a legend that was found in historical archives. Nobody even knows if it truly exists or not!"
Wexler sighed. Of course, as an ambitious businessman, he tried to pursue this type of Miracle drug in his youth. He spent years and years trying to find even an inch of clue from buried maps and buried scrolls, but everything led to crushed dreams.
"The name of this secret fourth type and the strongest Miracle drug is 'Ono'." Wexler said as he took out a book from a hidden compartment in the wall that he opened using his handprint.
Wexler opened the book and a loose piece of paper and showed it to Caesar. The paper had a hand-drawn illustration of a spherical object that seemed to come out alive despite only being a drawing.
"Rumors say that consuming an Ono Miracle drug would give you godlike powers in an instant. Everyone who hears of this rumor would have an urge to find one for themselves, but they don't even know what they're looking for."
Caesar took a good look at the page and ingrained the picture in his mind. This Miracle drug was different from the other types because it no longer had the shape of a cylindrical pill. This Ono-class Miracle drug was the shape of a pearl in the ocean.
"Can it really bring out godlike powers?" Caesar asked.
Wexler shrugged his shoulders. "The rarer a Miracle drug is, the stronger they are. A Replica-class is weaker than an Original-class, an Original-class is weaker than a Unique-class. And a Unique-class is weaker than an Ono-class"
Wexler looked up at the ceiling as if he was reminiscing about old times. "I have witnessed the peak power of a Unique-class back in my heyday. I can only say that it was very close if not surpassing godhood."
"Do you know why they call it the Ono-class Miracle drug?" Wexler asked Caesar.
Caesar didn't answer.
"It's because they are One and Only. They are the only one of its kind, making it rarer than anything in the world. This also means that they are much more powerful than the Unique-class Miracle drug that can reach godhood."
Caesar could not comprehend the scale of power that Wexler was talking about. What did it mean to become a god? Are they immortal? Can they bleed? Such things immediately came to Caesar's mind.
And most importantly, Caesar pondered 'can gods bleed?'
Although it was somewhere in the far future, Caesar would have to face a godlike-being. There are Unique-class beings wandering the world with an indifference in their mind, but most may become an enemy in Caesar's plans to conquer the world.
It was an inevitability. He would have to face beings with so much strength that it would become unfathomable. Can his brain and cunningness defeat omniscience? It was a bet that would almost certainly end in his defeat and death.
The only way for Caesar to shorten the gap is to amass wealth and power like no one had ever seen before. With more money, he could have an endless supply of stats and power. And, if he was lucky, he could search for the mythical Ono Miracle drug.
Caesar then thought back to the lucky boxes that he received. From that box, he had the chance to get common, rare, exquisite, and legendary.
If he already got a Miracle drug from the exquisite item, what could he get from the legendary box? Could it contain the mythical Ono-class Miracle drug?
"Can you consume more than one Miracle drug?" Caesar asked.
Wexler immediately shook his head. "No. You can try to, but your body would not be able to handle the power that would result from two Miracle drugs colliding."
Wexler immediately remembered his customer that decided to buy a Miracle drug. He didn't tell Wexler that he had already consumed a Miracle drug and even lied about it.
This particularly dumb customer thought that Wexler and the other sellers were a part of a conspiracy designed to limit the powers of a human. He thought that the sellers were lying about the effects of consuming two Miracle drugs.
He thought that Wexler was only trying to sabotage him, and so he desperately wanted to consume two drugs and prove that everyone was a liar.
Despite multiple warnings, the man still decided to go with it. What resulted in this stupid experiment was his whole body exploding into a million little pieces all over this very room full of glass cases.
Wexler almost vomited thinking about the taste of mushy blood on his mouth after the guy exploded right in front of him.
"Enough talk about that. Despite being a businessman, I would have to advise you not to consume or buy anything from me right now," Wexler said as he faced Caesar.
"I have no Unique-class Miracle drug in stock, and I feel that you would not settle for anything less."
Most of Wexler's customers were desperate people who did not mind consuming a Replica-class Miracle drug. Miracle drugs were expensive, and they could only afford the lowest class.
Even so, a Replica-class was enough to almost be godlike compared to a normal person. So, even though their future would be limited, some people decide to consume Replica-class MD.
That meant that they could never consume another Miracle drug even if they had a better class of Miracle drugs.
It's not that Replica-class Miracle drugs were weak, but in comparison to the other classes, it had a very weak starting point.
Let's put it this way. Think of Miracle Drug strength as a 1000 km race. A Replica-class MD would start at the starting line, while the Original-class would start at the 100m line and the Unique-class would start at the 500m line.
It wasn't like the Replica-class couldn't defeat a Unique-class, but they would have to put up tremendous effort just to be equal. If they had consumed a Unique-class in the first place, they would have already 'won' the race with the same effort and became the strongest in the world.
"I understand. Inform me whenever you have a Unique-class Miracle Drug in stock," Caesar said casually.
Wexler nodded politely. "Of course. You will be my first call."
With that, they concluded the tour and they went back to Wexler's office. Caesar almost had everything he needed. He learned a lot about Miracle drugs enough to be competent in it, but there was still one thing in his mind.
Heaven's punishment. It was the curse that was the side effect of consuming a Miracle drug. Anyone who consumed this drug would never be able to surpass the human limit.
"That is all that I need, Wexler. I will have to bid you goodbye for today," Caesar said.
Wexler nodded his head and reciprocated Caesar's goodbye. But just after Caesar turned his body to leave the room, he quickly turned back around as if he forgot something.
"Oh, right. Can I exchange all of my jewelry for just one expensive ring? These all feel too heavy for me." Caesar said.
Wexler immediately responded. "I have just the thing for you. It's stored here…" he said as he started to look around in his desks.
While they were waiting, Caesar said something casually as if he was just blurting it out.
"Are Miracle drugs really safe?"
Wexler looked back with a confused look on his face. "What do you mean?"
"It looks too good to be true. It gives you powers without anything in return? There's no side-effect?"
Wexler tilted his head to the side as if Caesar said something that was an easy question that even children and toddlers would have been able to answer him.
"Hahaha…That's a good joke, Caesar. But that is why it's called Miracle drugs. It is a gift from the heavens, a miracle."
From this Caesar concluded that there were not a lot of people who knew about Heaven's punishment. Wexler even knew about the mythical Ono-class MD, but he didn't know about the curse. It was safe to say that maybe Caesar was the only one who knew about this curse.
"Yeah, you're right, you're right. I was just thinking." Caesar said casually, and Wexler didn't think much of it.
Wexler exchanged the 10 million-Parou ring with all of Caesar's jewelry. He didn't think much about Caesar's question and just thought it was a passing thought.
Caesar didn't want anyone to find out about this curse just yet. This was a trump card that could be useful in another time. But for the time being, he just had to pretend that Miracle drugs really were Miracles.
Caesar went back to the orphanage and saw another mountain of cash laying on the floor. He just earned another 10 million Parou.
