"So...You wanted to welcome me?... Which is why.....you yelled at me to get out" I asked as the other three who were hovering over her just looked at each other.
"I didn't mean to yell, okay? It was the heat of the moment. We weren't prepared!" the woman excused, "This stupid right here!", she slapped the younger guy who whined and continued, "He forgot to take out the poppers so... sorry..." the woman apologized.
"Hey!" the woman again yelled, startling me, "Lucas! You ruined my image before the newbie!" she again slapped the guy's arm.
'Why does she like to yell so much' I thought and shook my ear which went numb after the sudden shouting.
"How is it my fault?! You shouted on your own! You could've asked her politely!" the younger guy, whom she called Lucas, fought for himself.
"Now you're blaming it on me? Your Supervisor?! Come here!" and with that, she started to chase after him as he ran around in circles. I just watched them silently, not knowing how to react.
Soon I realized that the older man who was standing beside me the whole time also looked quite fed up with the bickering duo. The man soon noticed my gaze as he turned towards me with a smile.
"You have to get used to this. This is a normal routine" he said as both of us looked to the right where the duo was fighting like cats.
"*sigh* Anyway, I'm Daniel Saito. As the Communication Specialist, I basically present most of the presentations and ideas to the upper management and I also deal with clients" he introduced himself. I stood up and shook his hand. He then continued,
"That guy there" he then pointed towards the boy who was doing a weird Karate pose, "He is Lucas Gracia, the social analyst of the team, he manages all the social handles and posts, comes up with new advertising ideas and it's his job to come with digital marketing plans along with marketing team, he is very competitive, by the way. And that crazy woman" he then pointed toward the woman who was throwing stuff at Lucas.
"Her name is Mia Gracia, which means the mercy of kindness," he said as I looked at him, confused, "You'll know soon why I said that. So, As I was saying, She is the PR Manager. She is our supervisor and manages most of the stuff. She is really hard-working aside from the fact it doesn't look like that but she is...." he said.
"The PR... Manager...?" I said and again looked towards the duo who were fighting like kids. I then introduced myself,
"I'm Aurora Gray, the new PR Assistant and researcher" to which Mr. Saito nodded.
I then suspiciously eyed him and it didn't go unnoticed by him as well. After a few moments, Mr. Saito started to feel uncomfortable, so he turned toward me and finally asked, "Is there something you're curious about?"
"Oh? Was I too obvious?" I asked myself.
'You were openly staring at me like an owl' Mr. Saito thought.
"If you don't mind me asking...Are you..?" I questioned, "Yes" he replied, confusing me.
"I'm half Japanese and half American if that clears your curiosity," he said. "Ohhh~ That's what I thought!" I clapped both my hands together. I then started to ask a few questions I was curious about but soon...
"Let go," Mia said as my attention reverted towards them and I froze to my spot when I saw both Lucas and Mia, holding each other's hair.
"Wha-" I was shocked whereas Mr. Saito looked as if this was normal.
"Let go of my hair! You're ruining it!" Mia exclaimed. "The same goes for me as well! I spent half an hour, setting up my hair!" Lucas replied.
"I'm warning you!" Mia yelled. "Oh really? Leave my hair or else!" Lucas squinted his eyes. "Or else? Or else what?!" Mia asked.
"Or else....I'm going to complain to Dad" he smirked. "No, you won't," she said. "Oh yes, I will" his smirk went wider.
"What…are they doing...?-" I got confused but soon my confusion was cleared.
"They are paternal cousins," Mr. Saito said as I made an O-shaped face, "She lives with them which is why his threat is working" he added as I looked towards the duo where Lucas was smiling and Mia looked angry.
"Okay then. We'll let go together" Mia said. "Sounds good to me" Lucas replied. "On the count of three," Lucas said and Mia nodded.
"One..." Lucas started the count, "Two...."
"Why is it so intense?" I asked. "Just watch," Mr. Saito said with a neutral expression.
"Three!" and none of them let each other's hair go. "I knew it! You witch!" Lucas exclaimed. "WHAT?! Witch? Complain to Dad? Come here" and with that, they started to fight again.
"Haizz...I knew it" Mr. Saito said and went off to his seat as I silently followed him. He showed me to my seat and gave me a little work to start with as I did, ignoring the two fighting messes.
After an hour or so, both of them calmed down and now were sitting at their respective desks, glaring at each other, and they were still in a not-so-good shape by their appearance.
"Ow....My head is hurting because of this stupid brat" Mia said as she massaged her temples. "You pulled my hair first! I feel the same!" exclaimed Lucas.
"Okay, stop it you two! We have work to do!...Oh...That rhymed" Mr. Saito said and continued doing his work as I looked at him weirdly.
"Oh! I totally forgot about you" Mia said, looking towards me who just smiled awkwardly.
She then started to introduce herself, "I'm the PR Manager and the Supervisor of this team. Myself, Mia Gracia, which means the mercy of kindness".
'So this is what he meant?' I looked towards Mr. Saito who looked totally unbothered.
"Well, not actually. It means mercy and kindness but I made it into a phrase to make it look cooler" Mia laughed.
'What the heck?!' I just smiled.
"Oh? And that lousy thing?" she then pointed toward Lucas who looked offended. She was about to speak further but got cut off by Mr. Saito.
"I already introduced everything to her. No need to bother" he said, continuously working on his laptop.
"You did?!... Then what's the point? Anyway, Welcome to the team!" she welcomed me as I nodded and smiled. Soon everyone got indulged in their work but later,
"This won't do. I need coffee" Mia slammed the table and stood up. "If you're going, bring me one cup too," Lucas said. "Me too" Mr. Saito also added.
"Argh...Every time!" Mia groaned. She was about to leave but she stopped when a thought came to her mind.
"Ms. Grayi?" she called out. "Yes?" I stood up. "Do you know where we get coffee from?" she asked. "Yes. From the Cafeteria on the 3rd floor" I replied. "Great then," Mia smiled.
*Clap*
"Can you please bring us coffee" Mia joined both hands in front of me as I got taken aback by the sudden action.
"Wha-What are you doing?" I pulled down Mia's hands.
"I know it's your first day, and it's awful of me to ask you to do errands but I really don't have the energy. It's as if I have drained out all my energy. I'm starting to feel dizzy. Oh" and with that Mia, stumbled but I caught her.
"A-Are you okay? Sit down please" I made her sit down on her desk. "I'll bring the coffee. It's okay" and with that, I ran out of the cabin.
*Click*
The door closed as silence took over.
"....."
"Was I too cruel for this? She seems really innocent" Mia said as she looked towards the door and sat in a normal position that she wasn't earlier. "Yes, you were. It's her first day. Come on~" Mr. Saito said as Mia pouted.
"At least, it's not what you did to me" Lucas spoke as Mia started to work on her laptop, ignoring him.
"You literally sent me to the CEO's office, saying he is calling for me!!! I will never forgive you for that day!!" Lucas complained.
"Did I ask for your forgiveness?" Mia said as Lucas scoffed.
