Julian had not still told me the reason why he had called me over to the pier, there was no need for me to ask him about his reasons since he was being too shy about telling me, with the way he had sounded over the phone; I had been thinking that it was work related stuffs but it wasn't so.
While we were going round playing games and having fun, Julian was being very watchful about something and his eyes were always straying, it was as if he had come here to look for someone but didn't know who, I noticed how he checked everybody's faces that walked past us and how he would hold gaze with random people. I still had fun all the same because for me, coming to the pier was a big treat.
I waited for Julian at the spot that he had left until I heard a loud crack that sounded like a gunshot, my heart stopped cold and I tried to look for Julian in the midst of the running crowd.
