He was about to leave, however, he suddenly stopped and was shocked by the sudden arrival of an unexpected notification.
Concurrent with the notification was the slight radiance of his body in an instant.
[Level Up!]
[Meridian Power: 154 + 160!]
"Huh?!"
Ranz quickly covered his mouth and looked around.
Because of his exclamation, some people around looked at him. But when they noticed that there was nothing worth looking for in him, the rest of them just continued walking.
Ranz sighed in relief. However, there was a shocking thing that happened.
He continued walking, searching for the entrance of the village. As he walked he asked himself, "Hmm... how did I have suddenly leveled up? I haven't even killed a monster yet. And I did not get a quest yet. So, how?"
Ranz suddenly stopped walking. He suddenly remembered something. 'Uhm, speaking of a quest, I just finished one. The Special Mission!'
He continued walking while he was whispering to himself.
"However, there is no XP (Experience points) reward on that mission," he mumbled while knitting his brows.
Ranz pondered. "Hmm… as I thought ... this game really has bugs. However, this time, the bug is in my favor. So no problem. I'll just report it if it's not going well for me. Like the Poison Ailment earlier."
When he checked his level, he discovered he was at Level 8 immediately. All his stats went up as well. He also unlocked the first basic skill for his warrior class that he should only get when he reached level 5.
"Hehe," He secretly smiled with joy and happiness.
When Ranz found the entrance, he stepped out of the village, he was greeted by a notification.
[Entered Green Plains]
…
In the past few minutes, when Ranz had accomplished the special mission, it appeared in the sight of all the players on the server he belonged to the announcement containing shocking news.
[Congratulations Jack No Ripper for accomplishing a special mission!]
Although not everyone, many had read the announcement, especially those who were not busy at that time.
A player inside the tavern suddenly stood up and shouted.
"Hey! Did you guys see the announcement, just now?!" His shout was containing enough volume to grab everyone's attention, so almost all the players inside looked at him.
"Tsk! This is the third!" One player also shouted.
"Who is this Jack No Ripper?"
No one gives a reply to her because no one present in the tavern knows the player Jack No Ripper.
"This is the first time I heard that name in this game."
"Yeah, me too."
"Maybe a solo player."
"HAHA, solo? Is that trendy here? This game is a bane of all solo players, so it's a no."
"He is definitely a high-level player to accomplish this mission."
"How do you get a special mission?!"
"If we knows it, everyone here would have already accomplished them!"
"Yeah, right."
"Darn! Even the game admins don't give a clue about it!"
"Maybe this Jack No Ripper is also a beta player!"
"Tsk! Beta players are selfish. They don't want to say about how to get a special mission! "
"Yes. I also heard that the first two who got the special mission are also beta players. "
"Nevermind! Jack No Ripper, hih. I will remember that name! "
"I'm so jealous!"
"Tsk! I'm curious what the reward is ?! "
"Yes! What is the reward? "
Even elsewhere the scene was similar. Everyone was excited about the announcement.
…
Outside the village, in an area known as Green Plains, after he walked nearly a hundred meters, Ranz saw three players. An archer, mage, and assassin. They were busy with what they were doing. They were battling a monster that looked like a little wolf. It has red skin and an angry-looking face.
The monster name was Little Roar Wolf.
This Little Roar Wolf, although small, was fierce and very hostile. Even though there were three of them, they still had a hard time killing the lone monster.
Ranz noticed that there were not many players here around the village. One of the streamers said the competition for low-level monsters was fierce. But maybe it's only in the towns. Here in the village, he saw very few players.
'Looks like I'm lucky to land here.'
When one of the monsters noticed him, it immediately rushed at him. Upon arriving at enough distance from him, its name and health points appeared in his vision.
[Level 2 Little Roar Wolf] [Hp: 10/10]
Although their health points were not that big, they were agile so it would be really difficult for anyone to fight them, especially with players with the same level as them.
Their attack and speed would be a difficult opponent for players with the same level or even those with a slightly higher level than them.
Ranz picked up the hanging Iron Blade on his back. After taking hold of the weapon, two rectangular translucent screen appeared— slightly below his vision. One on his left and the other one was on his right.
Their sizes was as big as short bond-paper in a landscape mode. The one on his right contains his health points, stamina, and mana. On the left side, was the list of skills, but there was only one skill in there currently.
Using the flat of his sword, he struck the approaching monster. The monster tried to evade. However, Ranz already anticipated it. When he observed the three earlier, he also secretly studied the monster's movements.
His attack on the monster was intentionally not centered and was deliberately diverted slightly. His estimation was correct because he really hit it.
Thump!
A text inside a rectangular box appeared in his vision, indicating he dealt 10 points damage to the monster.
After his attack hit the monster, the monster's body flew a few steps away from him. It was lying on the ground and its eyes became 'x' all.
The monster's health points went directly to 0/10. So it died immediately after that. Its body turned into light particles and disappeared.
It was followed with another prompt saying he killed the monster Little Roar Wolf. Along with it was the notification that he received an additional 2% XP.
It wasn't surprising that he killed a low-level monster in one hit because his level was higher.
Due to the force of the impact just now, it made a noise which caused three players who were not far from him to hear it. They were currently picking up the drop items of the monster that they just killed. But after hearing the noise, the three glanced at him and they saw a player with a glowy title.
In front of him was the pixelated body of the monster that was gradually dissolving into light particles. The big sword was standing on the ground next to him.
"He killed it alone?" One of the three players asked. Based on his looks, it seems he was of the Human Race. And his class is… assassin. He was holding a knife in each hand.
"It seems," replied the male player from Elf Race. His class was an archer. There was a bow in his hand and a quiver hanging on his back.
"Amazing," said another player with them. She was from the Human Race and her character class was a mage.
"Yeah, he's great for a newbie," Said the assassin.
"Tsk. He was just lucky, I think," the archer said, sounding annoyed.
As they were talking, out of a sudden, they noticed three Little Roar Wolves coming from different directions. The monsters rush directly towards that player with the glowy title.
"He's in big trouble! It's impossible to defeat those three at once!"
The assassin shouted.
"Are we going to help?" The female player asked.
"Never. If we help, we may be killed along with him. Look, that's three. We even had a hard time killing that one earlier!" Quick opposition of the archer.
