Chapter 25 - [ B ] - Sakume's Struggle

Sakume was still pissed off on his way to the bathroom. He took off his shirt and looked in the life-sized mirror. There was still a scratch on his chest, the one that Dracula made on him during their fight. That son of a bitch will pay for this, he thought. Suddenly, he thought about blood. The thought was so strong and intense that he had a headache and moaned in pain. "Guhh!"

Sakume saw images of blood. Juicy, red, pumping blood. His heart was beating heavily and he was sweating like a pig. He kept seeing red blood cells and he fell on his knees and moaned some more before he got back to normal.

The detective went to the living room and read the paper to calm himself down. Merla came and refilled the tea for him.

"Thanks Merla." said Sakume.

"You look pale, sir. Is everything alright with you?"

"Yes, of course. Hey Merla."

"Yes?"

"Do you think it's possible for people to turn into vampires?"

Merla put a finger on her chin and thought about it. "Well…I heard from my aunt that when a vampire bites or scratches another person, that person's blood becomes infected, and eventually he will become a vampire."

"That can't be." said Sakume. "Humans can become vampires? That is just not scientifically possible."

"Neither is the existence of vampires. I'm not sure if it is true, but it is what I heard."

This makes Sakume feel worse. Could what Merla said be true? No, it can't be. How can something like this be possible? Him, turn into a bloodsucking vampire? No way.

Shikura wanted to forget about the vampire thing and walked down the hallway. One of the servants was carrying a tray of food. He saw Shikura and tripped over something on the floor and dropped everything. He was so embarrassed that this happened in front of the master of the house.

"I'm sorry, Master Sakume." He said, picking up the food.

"It's okay." Shikura replied, helping him pick up the stuff. As he did, he saw the servant's neck close up, and for some reason, he was thinking about blood again. Shikura couldn't shake the thought off. He wanted blood really bad, and he felt the urge to bite him on the neck. The urge became so intense that he actually wanted to do it. He was so thirsty for blood…he grabbed the servant's shoulders.

"Master Sakume?"

Shikura suddenly snapped out of it. "Oh, it's nothing. Carry on."

The servant grabbed the tray and walked down the hall. Shikura felt so ashamed he even tried to bite someone. He ran to the bathroom to wash his face. Splash, splash. What the hell just happened? He thirsts like a vampire. Does that mean he really is a vampire?

Faith just finished taking a bath. She put on a towel over her wet, dripping body and went into bedroom.

Sakume came in and saw her folding clothes on the bed. She had no idea he's behind her. The bloodlust in him was too strong, and he couldn't control it anymore. He needs blood, now…he walked over to her. Not only is she naked, but her neck was completely exposed.

Faith turned around and became startled. "Oh, Sakume, it's you." She noticed he was looking at her a little weird. "S-Sakume?"

He had two sharp teeth, something she's never seen before. He grabbed her shoulders and she gasped. Her towel dropped on her feet, exposing her completely. Sakume took a bite out of her neck and she screamed. He pushed her onto the bed, and he continued to suck the blood out of her.

Merla and Uramaki came into the room. "What in the world?!"

Sakume hissed at them with a mouth full of blood. Merla put her hand over her mouth to stop herself from screaming. Sakume ran at them and pushed Uramaki out of the way, and ran out the hall. Uramaki chased him.

"Don't let him get away!" Uramaki screamed.

The servants on the other end of the hall grabbed Sakume, who put up a lot of resistance.

Uramaki looked at his master. "I am sorry, Sakume." He punched him in the stomach, knocking him out.

Merla: "What happened to him?"

"He has become a vampire…"

Uramaki and Merla chain Shikura up to the bed.

"Why are you chaining him up?" Faith asked. "This is not right…he's not an animal. He is a person."

"I'm afraid this is the only way." Uramaki replied. "Right now he is as dangerous as a vicious animal. I don't know when he started having the lust for blood, but as long as he does, he is a threat to all of us."

"There has to be another way."

"I do not want to do this to my master either." Merla added. "It pains me to do this. Until we find a cure, we must keep him chained."

Uramaki and Merla walked to the stairs. "Come on, Ms. Lin. Let him have some rest."

Faith waited for a few seconds, and then left the room. She looked back at Sakume one last time, and she still disagreed with his treatment. But they are right, he's a vampire and must be locked up.

Uramaki immediately went to the library and searched all the books, looking for a solution. Faith did not help him, she just sat there and thought deeply about Sakume's treatment. Yes, he did suck her blood, but he still should not be treated this way.

"Damn it!" Uramaki shouted out impatiently. He slammed his palms on the table in disappointment. "Nothing. There is nothing."
