Galactic Year 2175, Bludfist Tower, Xeno Euro
Slow applause from the upper balcony greeted my ears as I looked around the ballroom, pulling my attention to Earlan up on the balcony. My blood was still burning and I hadn't turned back yet, everyone else felt the power of my bloodline, including Earlan. He raised a brow and smiled wider when he felt my intrinsic strength.
"My son, Alex Bludfist, has officially be blooded into the clan. Let us all welcome him into our embrace!" After he spoke those words, every vampire in the room transformed at once and spoke in a hauntingly beautiful symphony.
"Welcome home, Lord Alex Bludfist!"
The air vibrated with the power the words carried. It would have been chilling if not for the fact that this clan was my inherent family. I reveled in the power for a moment before turning back. Even in my human form, with my bloodline suppressed, I didn't feel any discomfort among these vampires in their full glory.
"Rage will only get you so far, my Lord." I heard a new voice from behind me and turned to see another woman approaching me. She was beautiful as well, turned during her late 20s most likely. But I knew she was much older than she appeared.
"I would not say that, my Lady, I have rage the depths of which no vampire has ever seen." I replied with a smart ass quip to throw her off but the woman just smiled.
"I am Mistress Fera, my Lord Alex, it is a pleasure to meet the prodigal son of our great leader." The words were polite, but her tone held disdain. "You know, there is a nasty rumor that has been going around since you arrived. They say you aren't pure. Though with the display you just showed, I think those thoughts will be quashed for good. You have the purest Bloodline I have ever felt. If it please you, my Lord, I would like to support your claim to the throne."
"Doc, set up a meeting time for Mistress Fera and I."
"Right away, My Lord." Doc took down the necessary notes and I turned back to Lenora.
"Mistress Fera, I do not wish to be rude, but I am currently enjoying the company of this young Lady. Perhaps we could speak more plainly in our meeting." I politely went back to Lenora and offered my right hand again.
"If it so please My Lady, may we have another dance? Our last one was rudely interrupted." I kicked the ash pile of the dead vampire that was being quickly cleaned up. Lenora took my hand and we began to dance again, as if nothing had happened. We finished our second dance with no issues and the celebration continued well into the night, only stopping when the first rays of sunlight peaked on the horizon. Now, vampires aren't weak in the sunlight like humans assumed for so many years. On the contrary, the sunlight mad vampiric abilities stronger because it was easier to heat up our blood to the burning point with the warmth. Vampires that got drunk off of that power were called sun-doused. It was similar to heat stroke for humans and could be deadly to a vampire, their blood would literally burn them from the inside out.
I smiled as the first rays of light crested the horizon and flashed across the vampires. It didn't make them glow with color or anything, just brightened their pale color to a more human shade. When the sun caught the skin of my hands, Lenora gasped as the dark rainbow colors burst from my skin. In fact, for the umpteenth time that night, I was once again the center of attention as everyone saw the true myriad color of my skin. I turned away from the light, the dark colors wreathing me like a heavenly halo, a message from the heavens to these vampires. A message of hope.
