As soon as Aeryn and Alpha stepped out of the portal, they found themselves in the same place where Aeryn had begun her adventure.
They left the place and went to the reception where Aeryn updated her status.
With those 201 kills, more than half of which were Alphas, she'd managed to increase her level by nine levels and was now at level 10.
It would have taken a normal ranker at least six missions to kill all those monsters.
The more monsters you kill, the more your level increases. The higher your level, the more recognition you get, and you can promote your rank.
After they finished from there, they walked out of the building.
Once they were outside, Aeryn saw Yashito drinking coffee in a shop across the street.
She quietly walked up to him, grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him violently.
He lost his balance and let the coffee fall from his hands. But he just managed to freeze it in mid-air and save his precious drink.
"A-Aeryn, I see you escaped from the dungeon. How was your training?" He said as his heart beat at high speed because of Aeryn's sudden appearance.
"It was good, I had a lot of fun." She replied, smiling and squeezing Yashito's shoulders even tighter.
He unfreezed the cup of coffee and tried to drink it. But he couldn't quite manage it, as his right hand was trembling due to Aeryn's strength.
"So you managed to kill a hundred hellhounds?" He asked as he put down the cup of coffee, not being able to drink it at all because of Aeryn.
"Ah, I actually didn't manage to finish the dungeon by myself."
"Huh, what do you mean?"
"Let me introduce you to Alpha." Aeryn said, showing Alpha who was standing next to her.
She didn't even back away from her position, nor did she greet him.
"I see. And who exactly is this girl?"
"I can't tell you, that's classified."
But the truth was that she didn't know anything about her either. The only thing she knew was the fact that she called her master for some reason.
"Well then, I guess I can't make you say it. Or can I?" He said with a smile.
He stood up and tried to attack Aeryn, forming a pillar of ice with his right hand.
But he couldn't even get close enough to hit her, because Alpha appeared in front of Yashito in a flash, grabbed his right hand and flung him a few feet away.
"What the hell are you doing? Have you lost your mind?" Aeryn shouted.
"I've seen this girl before. She was one of the deities that appeared a few years ago. They destroyed a whole town full of innocent people. I can't let her live after everything she did."
Aeryn looked at Alpha with a surprised look.
"I can see you don't know anything about her, so I'll let you live." Yashito continued.
"I'm sorry, but I can't let you do that. She saved my life, so I'll repay the debt." Aeryn replied , drawing her sword.
"Then I guess you'll have to go down with her." He said and charged towards Aeryn.
Alpha once again appeared between them with her high speed and pushed Yashito back.
"Master, stay out of this, this is my fight."
"No, I'm going to help you. You saved my life, so I must return the favour."
"I just did what I was supposed to do. Now let me handle the rest."
"Eh, fine. But please don't kill him."
"As you wish, master."
"Are you done chatting?" Yashito said as he built a broadsword out of ice.
Aeryn backed away and let Alpha loose on Yashito.
Yashito had set up a barrier before the fight started so the civilians wouldn't get hurt. He seemed to really care about the people, but now he attacked Aeryn and Alpha without any evidence.
Yashito kept trying to cut Alpha, but she was too fast for him to handle.
He touched the ground with his left hand and ice spikes appeared from the ground, aiming at Alpha.
She jumped into the air and with a flick of her wrist, beams of light appeared and shattered the ice spikes.
As soon as she landed, she teleported behind Yashito and grabbed his arms so he couldn't move.
"Let go of me, you..."
"Okay, okay, enough with your nonsense, Yashito. She wasn't the one who destroyed your city."
"And how would you know that?" He said angrily.
"Because I just summoned her half an hour ago."
"You did what?"
"Exactly what you heard. So stop talking nonsense and come to your senses."
"Humph, you should have told me that earlier."
"You wouldn't have listened even if I'd told you. So what's a better solution than letting you get beat up?"
"I promise you that one day I'll kick your ass."
"Ho? I'll be waiting for that."
And after that, they both started laughing. On the other hand, Alpha was confused by the turn of events.
After Alpha let go of Yashito, Aeryn helped him stand up.
"Who's this girl anyway?" He said with a questioning face.
"I really don't know. She just appeared from the gem that was in the book my mother left behind. And for some reason, she calls me Master." She whispered.
"That's really strange. Let me see your book."
Aeryn gave Yashito the book, and he began to examine it with so much passion that he didn't even hear what Aeryn was telling him.
The book had a red cover with some letters on it that had been erased by the passage of time. The pages had begun to change from white to yellow. And the contents of the book were almost impossible to read.
"Eh, I can't understand anything written here," Yashito said after a while.
"Hmm, maybe Alpha knows?" Aeryn said.
Alpha, who'd been just standing there the whole time watching the two of them talk about the book, came closer.
"I have memorised the entire contents of the book."
"You did what?" Aeryn and Yashito said together.
"I memorised the whole book."
"Then tell us what's in it." Yashito said impatiently.
"You can't access those files."
"Why is she suddenly talking like a robot?"
"Honestly, I don't know. And what's a robot?" Aeryn replied.
"A robot is ... oh, forget it."
"A robot is a machine, especially one that can be programmed by a computer and is capable of performing a complex series of actions automatically."
"Yeah, that."
"Ooh, okay, I get it."
Even after Alpha's explanation, Aeryn didn't understand what a robot was, but because she didn't want to look stupid, she pretended she did.
"Oh yeah, I guess Alpha will join you in the dungeons, right?"
"Yea, she will."
"Good, then I guess we've got one more person to get through the test. Hoho, I want to see Ciri's face when she gets to see Alpha's powers." Yashito said, laughing wickedly.
"Ya-Yashito, are you okay?" Aeryn asked, gently touching his shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine, just a random thought crossed my mind."
Yashito looked somewhat suspiciously at Aeryn, who continued to stare at him as he gathered his things from the chair he was sitting on after turning off the barrier.
"Alright, let's go to the guild then." Yashito said and started walking towards the black building that could be seen from far away.
