[Author's POV]
She decided to open her WhatsApp and view the video. Her husband did send her a message but his colleague said he was shot in the head, so how was he able to send her the video? This was getting confusing. She then clicked the video.
In the video, a black room was shown but it was empty, the only thing inside the room was a chair. Nancy's husband, Edward was sitting on the chair and facing the camera directly. This video was shot a long time ago because Edward looked younger in the video.
"Hello, my dearest Nancy. I recorded this video so that you can know the real murderer of your mother. I used to date Miranda, your best friend, but she dumped me because I was poor. I tried my best to convince her to reconsider but she said the only way she can accept me back is if I'm rich. Miranda was my first love, so I was determined to do anything that would make me rich at all costs. My goal was to be rich, no matter what it takes. A friend of mine introduced me to a certain job. Not just any random job. I would be employed by a covert agency. Nancy, the same agency for which I was employed has a contract signed with your mother. The agency has an ulterior motive, they want to seize your mother's oil company and make it their own. In order to spy on your family, the agency hired me to work as a lumber Jack at your home. However, I fell in love with you, Nancy while working for your mother as a lumber Jack. I wanted to quit but they warned me that leaving the agency would cost me my life, therefore I refrained from doing so. The worst part of it was that the agency gave me the task of assassinating your mother. Although, I didn't want to do it, but I have no choice, Nancy. Nancy, I'm very sorry. You should watch this video all the way through because I still have to apologise to you for what I did.
After killing your mother. I got married to you immediately because I didn't want to lose you. The greedy agency took your mother's oil company, and the remaining properties of your mother were divided between you and your sister (Juliana's mother). However, I wanted all your mother's property to belong to you, Nancy. So I altered your mother, Mrs. Hodder Bonnie's will, to make it all yours. I understand that you will never be able to forgive me for what I did but I want you to know that I love you and always will." That was how the video ended.
Nancy who was already submerged in tears threw her phone against the wall. She never believed her husband would hurt her so much because of her mother's wealth. Nancy loved Edward so much and was ready to do everything for him. She was already socked in her tears. And what pains her most is that she disregarded those who opposed her relationship with Edward.
You see after late Mrs. Hodder Bonnie died. The agency took control of her oil company. So the remaining properties were willed to Nancy thanks to Edward. Nancy remembered that Juliana's late mother (Mrs. Grace Robinson) never supported her marriage to Edward and would always warn Nancy to stay away from him but Nancy refused to listen. She never cared about what others said about her fiance because she was drowning in the sea of love. Nancy at that point in time cut ties with her sister, the only sister she has, and the only family that remained.
"I remembered that my sister's husband was suffering from lung cancer. Grace spent all she had to help him, so she came to me for help but I refused to assist my own blood sister. I was the CEO of the oil company because my mother willed the company to me. Now I know what Edward did and it makes me to feel really guilty remembering that I did not help Grace with a dime despite all the money I had. I have hurt my sister and I need to go and beg her. I can't live here, at least I owe her an explanation for our mother's death. She needs to know. I wish Edward a speedy recovery. If he ever recovers, I'll file for divorce instantly. What was I thinking? He can never survive a headshot. I'm leaving here right away for my sister's house. I'm never coming back here and I would look after Erica alone. Without my husband, Edward." Aunt Nancy soliloquized. She was really bitter and guilty as she remembered everything she did to her own blood sister just because of Edward.
[Juliana's POV].
News Castle: In the evening of the same day.
Johnathan was strongly against us opening Anna's tomb. He believed that Anna is a very dangerous person. So he said.
"We don't have to open Anna's tomb. We'll put everybody in danger."
"What do you mean kiddo?" My dad enquired.
" Opening Anna's tomb would help me get revenge for the loss of my mother. And Eric won't have to kill his twin sister."
"I find it absurd that you would endorse this, Juliana. I thought you would reason with me because Anna is a vampire. Releasing such a demonic creature is a threat to the human race."
"Do you have other plans?." I asked. Johnathan bent his hand and remained silent.
Just then we heard the doorbell. When I opened the door, Aunt Nancy was holding a little girl. I was shocked because I never expected to see her on our doorstep. She was even with her luggage.
What the hell is going on? I said this in my mind after making sure it was Aunt Nancy at the door, and not someone else.
"Why are you here?." I asked.
"Would you kindly let me in and not keep me waiting at the door." She said politely. I moved out of the way for her to enter. I noticed that she was shivering, so I made her some tea. Her eyes swept everywhere as she drank her tea.
"Where is your mother? I came to see her."
"Mom? She is dead." I said with teary eyes. Aunt Nancy gasped, the cup she was holding fell to the ground and broke into pieces.
"What happened to her? What about your father? Is he alright?. Oh no, I'm so sorry that I was unable to pay my last respects.
I would make it up to her by taking a bouquet to her grave. She loves rose flowers." Aunt Nancy wept.
Aunt Nancy abandoned us a long time ago and I still haven't forgiven her for what she did, but I don't have the right to stop her from visiting my mom's grave. Considering that they are sisters.
I looked at the broken cup on the floor with its content spilled out. "I have to clean this mess."
"I know you are surprised to see me and my daughter Erica. She is five years old."
"I never knew you had a daughter. You left us a long time ago."
"I intend to stay here. I'm not going back home because my husband was shot in the head and I don't know if he would survive it. I cannot stay at home all by myself. I made a memory at home with him so staying would make me remember our good times together." She said.
"What?." I was short of words. Aunt Nancy loves her husband so much, how is she going to deal with the death of her husband?
