They did stab her from the back, but Tabibah's unwillingness to let her people die for naught made her consciousness fight against the sword since it was inserted into her. In another thousand years, she could have succeeded in getting rid of it.
Bird girl brought out a knife, and Etim's eyes widened comically. Tabibah almost thought he would faint as he watched her slit her palm without flinching and let the blood pour on the hilt of the sword. The words 'nobody said anything about self-injury' were boldly inscribed on his pale face.
The golden part of the sword glowed brighter and flew up, turning into a golden feather hair clip, which landed on Bird girl's hair and stuck there.
"Guess this works. " Sao said and brought out his knife.
"Why did nobody tell me we were going out with knives? " He perhaps couldn't take it any longer, so he asked the group with his rather delicate voice.
He made her curious. It was weird Sao was letting a person like this walk with him as he hated everything not traditionally considered masculine. Was he scared of knives? That was odd. She has never seen anybody scared of knives.
Sao slit his palm and poured the blood on the white part, which turned into an ivory-colored fang bracelet. It wrapped itself around his thick, veiny arms and stuck there like glue.
Tabibah felt the burden on her body diminish significantly, light gray mist curled around the tips of her fingers. She could feel the familiar flaring energy crawling through her veins. It moved slowly, way too slow for her, she won't be able to slowly torture them as she craves too. She won't be able to drag their body around their tombstones twenty times and make them scream their apology.
I am extremely weak to kill them immediately, I have to restore my body to its previous strength first. I must escape.
Mia was the next, smelling her familiar burnt bread scent made Tabibah's stomach twist, but she bore her discomfort for the greater good. A multi-colored ring was formed immediately after Mia poured her blood. Being so close to the relief felt good. If she could, Tabibah would be smiling now.
The elf was the last. She could watch him shuffle to the altar in tiny steps, it was almost like he expected her to spring up and suck out his soul. She wasn't that barbaric, she preferred less blood when killing except it was for revenge purposes, but his spinelessness looked less cute as he moved. If she could, she would have yanked him by his blood-red strands and told him to hurry the fuck up.
He would likely cry if she does that, with his delicate features, he would look good crying. Many years of keeping to herself made Tabibah more twisted than before.
He didn't have a knife. Mia gave him one. He looked at it like he was handed poison and told to drink it. The small cut he made on his finger after an eternity of deliberating, not to mention the dramatic look on his face, made Claud laughed loudly.
"Look at the lad you brought up. "
Sao's expression turned dark, and he fixated a glare on the poor boy, whose green eyes were still watery.
Oh… Scared of pain then. It was amusing to see someone terrified of pain. He reminded her of her late father.
He placed his finger on top of the remaining embedded piece, taking great care not to touch her breast, Tabibah nearly purr in satisfaction as she felt his blood enter her slowly.
"Good boy. "Mia praised. Tabibah could agree with her. He was such a good boy for putting the finishing touch on releasing her.
"Even a two-year-old pup can do better. " Sao's unwanted self ruined the mood.
The blood did well in gradually pulling out the embedded part and Tabibah was feeling very satisfied until the blood abruptly divert, going through another vessel where it was not needed.
No! No! No! Not there! Not that vein!
Of course, she couldn't stop it. If she was not unconscious and at her full peak, there was a slight chance, but that was not the case right now. There was nothing she could do, and could only watch in horror as the blood entered THE vein and a mate bond formed between them.
The elf did not know what he had done as he picked up the little jade ring that came out, toyed with it until it became a bow, and turned it back into a ring with an innocent smile on his face.
He smiled at the group, but nobody praised him, making his smile fade. His ears flapped down like a broken bird's wings. Tabibah no longer found him cute. She was angry, agitated, and confused.
No, no, no, she chanted in her head. He can't possibly be my mate, he is so weak. He will just be a burden. What kind of twisted game is fate playing with me? How can he form a bond with me? He can barely walk straight.
She felt immediate relief, like an invisible rope was loose from her body and the gray mist on her fingertips thicken periodically.
They waited. And waited. And waited. The awkward atmosphere was choking Yawin up. Yawin might be bad at conversations, but she grew up in a midst of chattering birds and loved listening to people talk. She felt like she was in prison.
"When will she wake up? " She asked monotonously. They seemed to have been waiting forever. Nobody could answer her. They also didn't know. Sao and Mia were expecting Tabibah to rise immediately, just like she fell. They weren't aware that it would take over two hours. Their legs hurt, for the past many years, they have been used to their glamorous thrones or running. Just standing in one place was irritating to them.
Only Etim didn't feel their pain. He felt drowsy and was already half asleep. Claud, who was an avid sleeper, stared at him in amazement. He envied Etim's ability to sleep anywhere. Yawin also stared at him in amazement. Only he could sleep in the midst of dead bodies.
Etim didn't even know he fell asleep. Heavy fatigue came immediately got the ring, and he dare not tell anybody before he gets insulted again. Sao was clearly in a bad mood and will only take it out on him. He only meant to close his eyes for some seconds, but he dozed off. Standing was not the ideal way for sleeping, not too long later, he staggered slightly, almost falling, he felt a cold lean hand grab his wrist, and before he could wake up, he was enveloped by a dark mist, and he passed out for real this time.
