Chapter 5 - 4

Devan does not know the meaning of the word rarely sleeps at home, it means. Since that night's conversation, Mike has not been seen in his eyes, even though it's been a week. Devan felt bad, was it because of him that Mike didn't come home? But after thinking about it, if it's uncomfortable to be around him, why are there some bills with notes that say, "For shopping, make your food full of nutrition! You're a too skinny boy!"

Devan stepped in amidst the hustle and bustle of the crowd, letting him release the burden in his heart and mind. A long breath started a beautiful smile that made several women smile with joy. Devan's appearance does make people who look at him chuckle in admiration. Her sweet face was wrapped in an oversized red jacket covering almost her upper thighs, she only wore knee-length pants. Men also looked at him with a perverted smile many times.

"Hey! You're the person I met in the elevator, right?"

A tap on his narrow shoulder made Devan turn around. A tall woman was standing in front of him. Devan is feeling small now, how can a man like him look up at a woman with his head up?

"Ehmm…''

"I'm Gista… who met you and that sexy man," she said with a big smile while snapping her fingers at his.

"Sexy man?"

"Ehem… Mike, the hottest guy no. 1 in our apartment building."

"Ohh…" Devan replied slightly disinterested.

"Want to eat ice cream with me?"

"Eh…?"

"Come on!" Gista pulled Devan's hand to follow him. Devan wanted to go for a walk alone, but because he had to, he just went. After all, he doesn't even know this area.

"Your hands are so soft, eh… what's your name?" asked the woman who was still holding Devan's hand.

"Devan."

"Wow…. A name that suits you so well sounds cute."

"Really?" asked Devan a little pleasantly. Devan doesn't want to be seen as arrogant, even though it looks hypocritical.

"Really," she replied, swinging their grips. Gista looks happy in contrast to Devan who looks embarrassed at everyone who laughs at him. They look like elementary school kids about to cross the road.

And after a fairly short journey, here they are. Sitting comfortably in a tavern with two bowls of ice cream of different flavors.

"Chocolate ice cream never disappoints," Gista whispered, looking so enjoying.

"You look like a chocolate addict now," Devan joked which made both of them burst out laughing.

"I didn't expect you to be good at joking too."

"Not really."

They were silent for a long time, busy refreshing their throats in the scorching heat of the sun.

"Why are you alone, where's Mike?"

"I don't know, ' replied Devan with a frown, why was that woman looking for Mike?

"Are you guys fighting?"

"No… He's gone and I don't know where he is.

"So you're alone in the apartment? How did you do that?"

"What do you mean?"

Devan is a little uncomfortable now, this woman looks like she wants to know about Mike. Devan suddenly doesn't like it, he's a little jealous, maybe?!

"I think you're a little firm! The man should be given some restraint, don't let him be too free."

The woman turned her face towards him, Devan was uncomfortable, causing him to lean on the back of the chair away from her.

"I'm also a man… But sorry miss, I don't understand what you mean."

"All residents in the apartment I know that Mike is… a bit of a playboy. But I think you're the best fit for him. I'm sorry for talking like that, I didn't mean to ruin your relationship."

"What is he talking about? Don't tell me that he thinks I'm Mike's lover?" Devan thought hysterically.

"I think I have to go, thanks for the treat."

"You're mad at me, aren't you? I didn't mean to put you in a bad mood, but…."

"It's okay, can I go?"

Devan slowly let go of the girl's hand. Reviewing a little smile that looks more awkward.

"Oke, but remember me, yeah! Gista no. 234 floor 23. We can chat again, right?"

Devan walked away from the shop. Walking slowly with busy thoughts drifting. Devan doesn't know why when Gista talks about Mike his heart beats so fast. This feeling made him uncomfortable.

"Why are you doing this Dev?" he asked himself. Don't let Mike's kindness go to waste with the presence of a ridiculous feeling in his heart. He didn't want the past to happen again. It's good that he was accommodated, don't be ignorant by expecting more!

Grateful for him who still knows the location of the way home. Wait a minute, the way home? Even now he considers the apartment his home.

Having a long breath, trying to get rid of the thoughts that made him even more confused. Devan slightly cursed his nature which was easily carried away by the flow of comfort. Looks like he needs to sleep now. Pressed the security code that Mike had written on a note stuck to the refrigerator. Stepping in and directed his feet to the room he was in before someone's voice interrupted him.

"Where are you from?"

Devan's gaze scanned every room until his eyes met with sharp eyes that were focused on the cellphone screen. His big body was lying on the sofa which eventually turned his gaze to him.

"Mike... you're back?" He asked with a big smile on his sweet face. Devan did not deny it, he felt very happy now. His chest rumbled, and his body temperature drastically rose several degrees.

"Sure, this is still my place," Mike replied, sitting down in his place. His hand raised to code Devan to come closer.

"Oh ya..."

With slow steps, he walked closer and sat his body slightly to keep his distance from Mike.

"Where are you from? I thought you were gone."

Devan bit his inner cheek in exasperation when suddenly Mike brought his body close to make their arms touch. Devan almost forgot how to breathe when the hand ruffled his hair.

"Are you using my shampoo? I don't think the scent suits you."

Devan looked up and somehow got close enough to make their noses touch. Devan quickly looked away, he didn't want his attitude to make Mike uncomfortable towards him.

"Did I make you lose your privacy?" asked Devan, bowing his head. He has to be more restrained now, however, he still needs Mike's help to continue living.

"Why are you starting again?" Mike replied with annoyance pinching Devan's smooth cheeks.

"Sorry."

Devan pouted his lower lip. Mike's pinch hurt enough to even leave a red mark on his left cheek. Mike just giggled amused seeing how adorable Devan is now.

"Ehm…. That costume suits you. You look cute," Mike teased, raising his eyebrows.

"Uh? Are you kidding me? I just borrowed this jacket, do you want me to wash it right away?"

Mike just grimaced softly at Devan's answer. He didn't expect Devan's attitude to change so quickly.

"Why do you always misunderstand me?"

Mike knows now, even just by talking to him a few times he has realized Devan's childish nature. He is very easy to change emotions which often makes Mike surprised. And another new fact is Devan is very easy to speculate to make the teenage boy often misunderstood.

"Your flat face always makes me misunderstand."

"Really? But why do people even think I'm getting hotter?"

"As you like!"

Mike burst out laughing, his hands pulling those narrow shoulders towards him. Hugging tightly once again his hands couldn't stay still until Devan's hair didn't form.

"Why no food, have you eaten?" Mike asked and suddenly his head slung over Devan's narrow shoulder.

"Not yet," answered Devan a little nervously. Devan has to act normal, isn't this what fellow men do?

"Why not just order something nutritious, haven't I left enough money? A week of eating eggs and are you not sick of it?"

"You know that?"' Devan replied by turning his gaze to Mike.

"Ehmm… When your body turns to bone you will know the taste."

"Why do I think you're kind of worried about me, huh?" said Devan in a teasing tone, the shoulder that Mike was leaning against made Mike growl in annoyance.

"Yeah... at least it looks like two guys are joking, right?" Devan thought calming down.
