"What did he say?" Colin asked
"He said he hopes you feel better soon, and asked you to drink lots of liquids."
"I bet he also said it was dumb of me not to go to the hospital sooner."
"Do you have anybody coming to help you?"
"Aside from the woman who cleans the house? No." He rolled his head on the back of the sofa, as if it was too heavy to lift. "As you can see, I'm still alive. You can go now. I'll be fine."
I scoffed and said, "Ok. That sounds good to me." If he didn't want me there, then I wouldn't be. I had a movie to catch up on. But as I got to the door, I knew my night was already ruined. The thought of Colin sick and alone in this big house was going to nag me all night.
Reluctantly, I turned back and walked into the living room. Colin was still in the same position I left him. I couldn't help noticing the snug fit of his t-shirt against his arms and chest.
