Chapter 32 - Amala is in trouble

''That makes the two of us. Relax!'' Amala patted Joy's shoulder and smirked. She turned to the teacher saying, 'Mr. Hugh, I can sit here, right?''

''Uh, yes, Amala. You can sit there!'' Mr. Hugh said and looked at the class captain. ''What do you have this morning?''

''Chemistry!'' Sandra, the assistant class captain said. She was a beautiful blonde girl that was seated at the front row. She was also considered the most beautiful girl at the school and a lot of people liked her.

''He will be here soon, so get seated and read your books.'' Mr. Hugh said before going out.

The classroom erupted into another round of mumblings and small talks after the teacher left. Some of the students looked at Amala and gossiped amongst themselves.

Eric stood up from his desk and walked over to Amala. He placed his hand on Amala's desk saying. ''Hey, transfer student!''

''Amala! The name is Amala, not hey and neither is it transfer girl.'' Amala said as she lifted her eyes to look at Eric.

''I don't care. I am only here to tell you something. We have a tradition in this class. If you're new, you have to choose a boyfriend from the class.'' Eric said and the rest of the students looked at them.

Leo had his headphones in his ears and didn't pay attention to them.

Amala chuckled and muttered. ''What is this place? The dating hub? Childish!'' Amala looked at Erica and said sarcastically. ''I didn't come here to date.''

''Wow! The transfer girl says she didn't come here to date. I guess we are here to date then?'' Charles, one of the students asked and stood up from his desk.

''Are you insulting us now?'' Eric asked.

''No, I didn't insult anyone!'' Amala replied impatiently and sighed.

''You just said you didn't come here to date. That's an insult!'' Sandra stood up and walked to Amala, saying.

''But that's the truth.'' Even with the students standing in front of her, Amala didn't seem threatened or intimidated. She just looked at them with a nonchalant gaze.

''That's an insult. Do you mean to say you've never dated back at your former school?'' Charles asked.

''Life is already short. Why would I want to waste part of it with another person?'' Amala asked and the students gasped. They have never seen a more narcissistic person than Amala.

''Tsk, this girl really has guts. Listen here you transfer girl! Do you know who you're talking back at? I could make your life hard in this school you know.'' Eric yelled. He was angry at Amala for talking back at him.

Eric was a known bully in the school. He hated it when anyone tried to challenge him. He was from a powerful family and always got away with a lot of things. The only person who could make him shut up was Leo and it didn't look like he had any intention of stopping Eric from bullying Amala.

''My life is already hard. You can't make it any harder!'' Amala stated and opened her bag to bring out her book.

''Don't speak back Zoe. He could hurt you!'' Joy leaned closer and whispered to Amala.

'I don't care. My life is already hard enough!'' Amala said.

''What! Your life is already hard? You are really getting me interested in you, transfer girl. Congratulations, you just got my attention.'' Eric said and chuckled.

Charles looked at Amala and suggested. ''This won't do! I think she needs to do the ritual, that will get her back in her senses.''

''Ritual! Ritual! Ritual!'' The students started chanting excitedly.

''I think that's enough for the day, Eric. Don't you think so?'' Leo removed the headphones and said, making the class to turn silent.

Sandra looked at Leo affectionately and spoke. 'Leo is right! She is new. We shouldn't make her first day at school a bitter one, right?''

''Shut up Cassandra! You were part of it!'' Leo said and Sandra's face turned red.

''It's Sandra, not Cassandra.'' Sandra muttered

''Tsk, he is arrogant towards everyone.'' Amala mumbled and chuckled.

''What did you say? Did you just call my crush arrogant?'' Sandra banged her palm on the desk and asked. Even after Leo getting her name wrong, she still didn't want to see anyone talk ill of him. To her, Leo was the love of her life and belonged to her.

''Sit down everyone.'' The teacher entered the classroom and spoke.

''This conversation is not over, transfer girl!'' Sandra gave Amala a warning gaze before turning away.

Amala shook her head. Why is it so hard to go to school? She is always getting into messy situations no matter how hard she tries to avoid them.

When the school bell rang for closing, Amala packed her bags and left through the backdoor. It wasn't because she was afraid of anyone. She just wanted to avoid another encounter with the students.

If she fought with them and get expelled, then that would mean she would have to go to another school. She just wanted to be able to complete without having to move.

As she walked towards the entrance, Eric and his minions rushed out and caught up with her.

''Hey, transfer girl! Not so fast.'' Charles spoke.

''Hey, where do you think you are going? I told you this wasn't over.'' Eric walked over saying.

''Move and let me go. I don't want to fight with you.'' Amala said.

Joy walked out and saw Amala in the middle with the boys and turned back to the classroom. She ran to Leo's desk and started talking.

''Am… Amala is in trouble. The boys are outside. They won't let her go.'' Joy's words came out incoherently. Joy suffered from speech impairment Joy so some of her words are always difficult to comprehend but being in the same class with her for three years, Leo was able to understand her.

''Amala is in trouble and you want me to help her out?'' Leo asked as he put his books into his bag.

''Yes…'' Joy nodded her head.

''Did she ask you to call me?''
