Chapter 2 - The boy she was smitten with.

The Latina boy with green eyes was very handsome. His hair which was combed back looked neat. Jolene had known him for a long time but this was the first time she was sitting this close to him.

"He is so handsome, JoJo. I think he likes you.'' Rosa whispered into Jolene's ears.

"What are you saying?'' Jolene blushed.

"He hardly talks to anyone except his friends. He doesn't even talk to the juniors. You are the first person he is talking to in a group table.''

"Kai, here… a drink for you.'' A girl dressed in an extremely short outfit with heavy makeup walked over with a bottle drink and said to the boy.

"Cathy, aren't you a little indecent for a school party?'' One of the boys sitting next to Kai asked the girl.

"This is fashion, what do you know?'' Cathy retorted.

"No, thank you!'' Kai rejected and stood up from the table. Jolene's gaze followed him until he was out of sight.

Jolene stretched her neck to see where the boy went to and Cathy blocked her sight.

"He is mine! Back off.'' Cathy said and walked away.

Kai stood outside the hall with his hands in his pockets. He gazed at the sky. He looked like a lonely god standing alone.

A few moments later, Jolene came out of the hall to receive a call. Kai turned when he heard the familiar voice.

His lips parted into a smile when he saw Jolene outside. Because she was on the phone, her back was turned to him and she didn't see him.

"Mum, I will be home before curfew. I promise.'' Jolene said into the phone before hanging up. She turned to go inside and heard someone calling her.

"Hey, Pastor's daughter…''

Jolene turned and looked at her back and sideways. She wasn't sure whom Kai was referring to as the Pastor's daughter.

"I'm calling you.'' Kai said and Jolene blushed.

"My father is not a Pastor.'' Jolene said and walked closer.

"Really? I thought he was because your house is…'' Kai didn't finish speaking and a boy walked over with drinks in tray.

"Care for drinks?'' The boy asked.

Kai picked a bottle drink and a glass of soda drink from the tray and gave it to Jolene. 'Here, drink soda.''

"Thank you.'' Jolene's fingers brushed against Kai's and she blushed and looked away.

After giving them the drinks, the boy walked away. When he entered, he walked over to Cathy and said to her. "He took the drink.''

"Good!'' Cathy smirked and gave the boy a few bills. She walked to the door and watched Kai carefully.

Just now, she had spiked the drink Kai was taking. Her intention was clear as day.

"My father is a church elder.''

"I heard you came from Africa. Which country did you come from?'' Kai asked with interest. His eyes sparkled as he gave his undivided attention to the brown skin girl in front of her.

"Ghana. My father is from the Northern part of Ghana and my mother is from the Southern part.''

"You are mixed!'' Kai stated.

"Sort off.'' Jolene said and chuckled.

"You are beautiful.'' Kai suddenly said.

"Huh?'' Jolene blushed.

"I said you are beautiful. You don't seem to believe that. Your kind is beautiful and you are also beautiful. That's a compliment.''

"Oh, a compliment!'' Jolene nodded and smiled awkwardly.

"I see the other white kids, some of them make fun of you but you shouldn't mind them. At most, they are jealous of you.''

"Oh…''

Kai suddenly shook his head. He was feeling dizzy suddenly. 'What is wrong with me?'' Kai muttered.

"Senior, are you alright?'' Jolene asked with concern.

Kai shook his head and mumbled. "I… I think something was added to my drink.''

"What?''

"Kai, are you alright? Let me help you. I will send you to a place safer.'' Cathy rushed over and pushed Jolene to the side and spoke.

"Get away from me!'' Kai pushed Cathy aside and held Jolene's hand.

"Senior, are you alright? Do you need me to do something for you?'' Jolene asked.

"He doesn't need you. Do you even know what's wrong with you? I suggest you leave him alone or you will regret it.'' Cathy warned.

"Jolene, don't listen to her. Send me to this car number. The keys are in my pocket.'' Kai removed his phone and showed Jolene a car number.

"Alright!'' Jolene held Kai's hand supporting him.

"Jolene, leave him with me!'' Cathy insisted.

"No! Don't leave me with her. Let's go.'' Kai said.

"Mm!'' Jolene ignored Cathy and walked away with Kai.

Jolene arrived at the parking lot and started looking for the car.

"Jolene, you should use the keys in my pocket.'' Kai said with his eyes closed.

"Right!'' Jolene nervously put his hand inside Kai's pocket and noticed something odd about him. She looked down and saw his erection and flushed.

"I'm sorry, that you had to see me this way. I'm sure that girl added something to my drink. I won't let her off.'' Kai said.

Jolene's mind went blank. She couldn't concentrate straight. As she tried to take the key from his pocket. Her fingers brushed against his erection and they both froze.

"Brown, you should be careful. I am not in my right sense right now.'' Kai warned.

"So… sorry.'' Jolene said and brought the key out. She pressed it and the car blinked a couple times at a distance.

"Got the car, let's go!'' Jolene said and helped Kai towards the car.

"You smell like mint!'' Kai muttered.

"I… I use a minted soup to bath, that's why.''

Kai smiled. "Brown, can you drive?''

"Huh? Yes, I can drive but I don't have my driver's license yet.''

"That will do. I want you to take me away from here.'' Kai said.

"Oh…'' Jolene replied and opened the car when they arrived. She opened the backdoor and helped Kai inside before getting into the driver's seat.

"Where… where are we going?'' Jolene stuttered nervously.

"Go to this address.'' Kai stretched his hand and pressed the board and a GPS appeared.
