"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Said a tall man who had broad shoulders with impressive biceps and abs that threatened to burst out from the tight fitting shirt he wore.
He was one of the First Year trainers who were in the display and review room watching the new students take the general test. The room had four large screens attached to one of each walls. One of them was blank, cause the trainer who should be watching it was asleep while the other three were on and they displayed the students in the arena, changing views once in a while. Above the student's heads were their names and points.
A particular student had caught the eye of the trainer who just spoke mostly because he was rushing forward at breakneck speed, giving a massive gap between him and the other students in seconds. What was more interesting was his laughter.
"Obviously, Diego." Replied another man who stood opposite Diego, his face to the screen in front of him. He was also very tall but he had a dark cloak covering his entire body. His name was Zayne. "Everyone can."
He could see the student, and though he was impressed, he felt the kid was acting recklessly.
"I don't think I've seen such a power before. Well not like this." Cat, the only female in the building and who was also a trainer, said. She had white hair which flowed down to the back of her thighs. Her body had an hourglass shape and she never hesitated to display them anytime. Right now, she was dressed in ass-tight pants and a low-cut top that left little to the imagination. On top of that, her voice was very pleasing to the ear—If you know what I mean.
Of course, the men in the room dared not look below her face for obvious reasons. Well all except the last trainer who sat in a chair, as he was fast asleep.
Through the screen, they saw a five-point combat robot appear abruptly from an alley.
"This kid is done for." Zayne said with a sigh. He'd already deduced that the robot was going to impale the kid with its fastly approaching tail.
The robots had been set to Mode Minus (M-), meaning they wouldn't be able to hurt the students critically. But they could inflict pain on them.
This was done only because they had a high level healer who would be able to restore any injured student back to health. And also, an additional bonus was that it made the test more real, which would make the students take it seriously.
So he knew once that tail hit the student, he wouldn't be able to get back up, therefore failing the test.
But unlike expected, he watched as the blond haired student propelled himself into the air, dodged the robot's tail and landed by its side. Immediately he landed, he placed both his palms on the robot and totally destroyed it by using his powers. Once he was done, he continued forward, laughing like it was a game he was playing.
"This is unbelievable!" Diego nealy screamed after watching that. Being a trainer, he'd seen many talents, but this kind of talent was too good to be true. "A first year student shouldn't have such precise control over his powers!"
"I agree. This kid is special. He's up thirty points already, and he's topping the class." Zayne said.
"He's definitely going to be in my class." Diego said.
"In your dreams!" Zayne and Cat said at the same time.
"Hey, chillax." Diego said, then muttered under his breath, 'Jeez.'
They watched other students battle the robots as they raced to the finish line. The next student who had the second position currently was just as impressive as the blond haired student. He was a technopath and the only reason why he wasn't the first apart from the fact that the student holding the first position was very good with his powers, was because the robots had been inbuilt with a chip that restricted such powers, and although its effect was greatly reduced due to the robots being set to M-, it was still very strong.
This made it a lot harder for him to manipulate them.
He was still far away from the blond student, both in points and distance, but the next student behind him on the table was even farther away from himself.
"He's coming to my class too." Diego muttered.
But Zayne and Cat heard him.
"Not happening!"
The screen continuously changed views till it got to the far back. A huge robot, the shape of a human came into view.
"Luckily, all the students are way ahead. At this slow pace, the robot will never catch up to them." Diego said.
However, immediately he finished saying that, the screen zoomed in and they noticed something. A girl was on the ground, just a few metres away from the robot. A pillar had fallen on her leg, rendering her incapable of running.
She was calling for help while tears flowed like waterfalls from her eyes.
"Poor girl." Cat said with a sigh.
"She's definitely not going to make it." Zayne remarked.
And just as they were about to take their attention away from her, they saw another student approaching her with immense speed.
"What the hell is he doing?" Zayne said and looked at his name to see his points. He had just five, and the time was already less than half left.
"Shouldn't he be seeking for points?"
All the trainers watched the student with keen interest as he approached the girl and tried to lift the pillar on her leg with no luck.
"What's he going to do now?" Cat said, a worried expression on her face. Personally, she wanted the girl to pass the test. The girl already had 65 points, but it would be useless if she didn't cross the finish line in time.
Cat checked their names, they didn't have any relation to each other. It meant they probably hadn't met or known themselves before. Besides, the look on the rescuer's face made her see that he was doing it purely because he wanted to and not for some other erroneous reasons.
However, it really wasn't a wise move considering what was a stake if he pushed through with rescuing her. At the end, even if he succeded and brougth her to the finish line, she would pass, but he would be eliminated and sent back home.
And that was when they saw that student do what they had never seen any student do. He totally destroyed the huge robot's head with one punch and brought the girl to the finish line, just as the timer hit zero.
Right now, there was silence as they reflected on what they'd just seen and what decision to take now in regard to it.
After some time, one of them spoke.
"All in favor of moving the boy up?" Cat said, a serious expression on her face.
* * *
Klimo was relieved of the girl by two men in white who were waiting at the finish line, and they promptly disappeared, promising to come take him for treatment once they had admitted the girl.
The other students who had successfully crossed the finish line wondered what had happened to them, but could only guess they were probably low levels who just managed to get to the finish line.
Now, all of them waited patiently for the floating screens to display their results, since they had turned off once the timer hit zero.
And after a few minutes, it did.
And klimo's eyes immediately went to the bottom, ready to see his name embarrasingly at the bottom. But he couldn't find his name there.
His eyes moved one space higher, but his name wasn't there either.
'Is the screen broken?' He thought as he continued looking one space above each names, diligently searching for his.
Around him, students were murmuring and muttering furiously. This was because of the name they saw at the very top. They couldn't believe it. They were very sure the blond haired should have been the first, as each of them met him already at the finish line waiting for them. Even insulting them, calling them slow pokes and they could do nothing about it.
So what was happening?
Klimo had gotten to the top ten, and he still couldn't find his name.
And just as his eyes got to the first position, he heard an announcement.
"Congrats on passing the general test students. As you've all seen, the first position goes to Klimo Javier with 700 points!"
"WHAT!" Klimo yelled just as the two men in white reappeared.
