Once the race started, all the students began running to the finish line, immediately activating their powers. It seemed like they really thought they would be able to beat Vlad to the finish line now that it wasn't an obstacle race like the general test where points mattered. And somehow, ten seconds into the race, Vlad was the last.
Klimo noticed that while the other students had promptly activated their powers once the whistle was blown, Vlad decided not to.
'It's almost like he's giving them some sort of headstart.' Klimo thought. And he was not wrong.
The student who was the one leading his group had a massive grin on his face as he approached the finish line. His powers was one of summoning, and he'd summoned a large beautiful butterfly that held him firmly as it flew forwards at a considerably fast speed.
He'd also noticed that the only competition in his group was running without using his explosion ability.
'Does he really think he can beat all of us to the finish line without using his powers?" He thought, the smile increasing.
If that was the case, then it meant Vlad was about to find out what came next after pride.
He'd also thought that perhaps Vlad had run out of steam due to yesterday's test and hadn't been able to recover whatever he used to produce those explosions.
But in any case, he was very sure he was going to be the one winning this test.
Unsurprisingly, the other three students behind him thought nearly the same thing.
But they were in for a shock.
Once the summoner reached fifty meters, they all heard a loud explosion far back. And in a few breaths of time, they all saw Vlad whizz past them like as if he was a jet, with a mocking expression on his face.
Vlad had been gathering energy into his hands, preparing for just one blast. That blast was expected to carry him from wherever to the end of the race.
And when he had gathered enough, he stretched his hands behind him and activated his power, sending him forwards at an immense speed.
The wind behind Vlad was furious as he zoomed past the four students causing all of them to fall off balance, landing face first on the ground, and in the case of the summoner, crash landing. Due to that fall, his summoned beast suffered a broken wing and a bruised head. He looked towards Mr. Emiah's direction expecting him to disqualify Vlad due to him harming his summoned beast, but he was shocked to see Mr. Emiah faintly smiling.
When Vlad was a few metres away from the finish line, he landed on the ground, pocketed his hands and simply walked till he got to the end.
This left almost all the students befuddled, as only a few of them understood exactly what had happened.
"This is unbelievable!"
"Ya! He just sped past all of them with one massive explosion and got to the finish line in less than ten seconds!"
"...talk about a dramatic finish."
Soon after, the rest three students got to the finish line, and embarrassingly the summoner came last.
Mr. Emiah said nothing, and simply beckoned on the next group to set themselves.
The test went on and there were a few notable people that had a lot of potential which Klimo noted.
One of them was a black haired, muscular student who had a portal ability, which by the way was very rare to find, even on sale.
Once the race started, he simply formed four portals, one a few inches in front of him, one in two quarters of the race track, another one a few inches away from it, and the last one in front of the finish line.
So while other students used all their strength running, he just walked through the portals and appeared at the end of the finish line.
Another was a blue-eyed girl with ice powers. Of course, she slid to the end of the line and quickly too. Earning her the first position.
Eventually, it was the turn of Klimo's group to take the test.
The five of them readied themselves, waiting for the whistle to be blown. Klimo had nothing else to rely on than his 10 points in agility in order to pass the test. He hoped the students who stood on the track at either side of him were not as powerful as they looked.
After a few seconds, they heard the voice of their trainer.
"Ready..." And the whistle was blown.
Unfortunately for Klimo there was a student who could absorb mana and transform it into speed, and he'd been absorbing mana from the surrounding all the while the test was going on, so once the whistle was blown he sped off, even leaving after images of himself in the process.
The next guy who was in front of Klimo suddenly developed wings which had a span of four feet, and he took to the sky, swiftly.
Klimo found himself at the third position.
But he wasn't doing too badly as he was directly behing the winged student.
As for the students, they thought Klimo had a speed enhancing ability like the student leading his group but that he hadn't developed it as much. But unknown to them, Klimo was just running like a normal human, even perspiring as he did.
Far behind Klimo was a student who had a metamorphosis ability. He had changed his hands and legs to that of a cheetah and ran on all fours. It seemed to be a wise action, but it wasn't. He'd forgotten that the most prominent characteristics of cheetahs were their light bodyweight, which helped them gain speed faster. And the student in question was really, really fat.
This fact was the reason he was far behind and he would have been the last presently if the student directly behind him wasn't able to use his magnetism powers at the moment as there weren't any metals he could attract.
In one minute, the race was ended. The student with the absorbtion ability came first, the flight student second, Klimo third, the magnet student fourth and the metamorphosis student, fifth.
Needless to say the metamorphosis student eventually gassed out, for obvious reasons.
Mr. Emiah wrote some names down after the test and led them to another area.
Here, there were circular and flat objects held in place by two metal posts. By the edge of one of the metals was a small screen which was meant to display the strength of whoever punched or attacked the circle.
Mr. Emiah instructed them to punch the object as hard as they could and with the inclusion of their powers.
Once again, Vlad who took the test first, impressed the students with a loud bang. Literally.
He punched the object swiftly and just as his hand connected with it, he released his ability, resulting in the display device counting numbers rapidly, settling for 27 after a few seconds.
The students wondered how the object was still in one piece after Vlad's punch. They could only guess that the object was made from very quality beast scale.
The girl who had ice powers also did quite well, as the screen displayed 18.
When it was Klimo's turn, he sighed. He already knew the end result of this test.
And just as he had thought, when he punched the object, the screen blinked and displayed a meager number.
10
The other students who saw it weren't too surprised as they wholly believed his ability was speed, and they all knew that a lot of speed meant less strength. Of course, this occurrence made some of them to smile wickedly in their hearts for unknown reasons.
'I really need to level up.' Klimo thought sourly as he returned to his position.
Eventually, that test was over and the last test was presented.
They were each to hold up a bubble.
It was quite strange, and the students wondered just what exactly they were being tested on. Luckily, Emiah explained in seven words.
"This test is to gauge your stamina."
He instructed all the students to raise their hands up and after they did, a blue bubble materialized above them and landed on it.
When Klimo felt the bubble in his hands, he was shocked to realize that the bubble's exterior was very durable. It didn't burst after it touched his dry hands.
However, it was quite easy to hold above his head.
But it didn't stay that way for long. As time passed, the bubble increased in size and weight.
It was slowly getting harder to hold it.
Eventually, many students couldn't keep holding it in the air and threw the bubble away, and it disappeared once it left their hands. This included Klimo who lasted about 25 seconds before giving up.
Finally, the test was over.
Mr. Emiah snapped his fingers, and randomly, there were notification sounds being heard.
The student's devices were being updated, showing their levels.
Klimo heard a ping and took out his device from his pocket, reading the text on it.
'Klimo Javier-
Agility : 10
Strength: 10
Stamina: 10.'
'Level 1.5'
