Chapter 16 - Shit's about to go down

[Skills]

[Solar Harnessing (Lv 1)]

[User is able to draw energy from the sun amd convert it to phoenix energy.

Condition; User must focus on the sun's energy in harness with a clear mind.]

[Reveal]

[Allows user to inspect any person or object and general information will be available.]

This was Klimo's [skill] tab after he'd gotten a point in stats. And in addition to the granted skill which was [Solar Harnessing] he'd gotten another which was [Reveal].

Apparently, this skill was always going to be granted once [skills] unlocked, according to the system. With this skill, he was able to see the stats of any other person or object, so to say. And what was more, it didn't seem to consume any phoenix energy. As for the stat point he'd gotten, he'd placed it in strength, taking it a point higher from 10 to 11.

Once he got to the refectory, he decided to test the skill on the first student he saw and who was just about approaching the first year section.

The refectory was divided into four. The first quarter was meant to be occupied by the first year students in SH, while the second and third were for the second and third year students respectively. The fourth was the place where the food was served. Due to this, there were four entrances into the refectory, making it that each student could get into his quarter without having to pass through another grades'.

[Reveal]

Beside the student's head, a screen was displayed, revealing a general information about him.

[Name: Donovan Clark]

[Race: Human]

[Powers: Force field]

[Lv 3]

[HP: 15/15]

[Strength: 12]

[Agility: 10]

[Stamina: 14]

Klimo read it and was amazed. The [Reveal] skill was able to provide him with very valuable information, about their powers, level of affinity and even physical info. This skill would definitely be useful in the future.

Now, even if someone wanted to hide their power level from him by covering their wrists, he could always use the skill on them and he would be able to know more than they were hiding.

'The system said the skill would work on objects too didn't it?' He thought, taking his eyes away from Donovan and focusing his gaze on the table he was at. And much to his delight, a screen by its edge materialized.

[Identification: Refectory table]

[Product: Jiangxi Red Wood]

[Strength: 22]

[Durability: 22]

'Whoa! This is dope! It even showed its strength and durability.' He thought delightedly. But he also felt a tinge of sadness.

He'd noticed that the table was a lot stronger than him, meaning if he dared to punch it with his meager 10 points in [Strength] he was most likely going to end up in the hospital with a broke arm. And was terible, not only because of the pain he would feel, but also because he would be seeing that old woman again, and then he would have to discuss about and death with her, and maybe about the girl hecd rescued. She gave him the chills.

'I really, really have to get stronger.' He thought and just at that moment, a kid in a glamorous attire walked in through the second grade entrance, and right behind him were two guys who obviously were his classmates as they had a badge on their chests which had two green dots on it and which all second graders wore over their dresses, or uniforms.

The student was pretty tall, almost standing a feet tall above all the students that were present in the refectory at the moment. He had yellow hair and eyes, and he was lanky and had defining features.

He had a contemptous look on his face as he stared at the first year students who walked into the refectory by their assigned entrance.

Klimo had at first thought this was just another noble trying to get all the attention for himself because he was rich. But when Klimo's eyes strayed to his wrists, he had a mental do-over.

Lv. 7.9!

Klimo was startled. Although the student was in the second grade, he wasn't expecting to see someone so powerful, just at the beginning of the year.

He looked at the wrists of the students standing behind him. They were both level four.

'Figures.' He thought, his face twisted. He decided to use his [Reveal] skill on the tall student.

A golden screen appeared, but it was so blurred and muddled that Klimo could only identify his name after trying for so many seconds to figure the screen out. It was almost like he was given a task to decrypt the screen.

"Mitch Zikky." He muttered.

Klimo wondered why the screen became so blurred when he'd used it on Mitch. He thought perhaps there was a cool down for the skill and the system hadn't informed him. Or, it could be that the power level of Mitch was too high for him to just read his stats so easily. Perhaps he had to level up to a certain base before he could be able to read it.

Unfortunately, the system although expressing itself as a talking system was always quiet, almost like it wasn't existing whenever he talked to it. At this point, he was led to believe he was hearing things those times when he thought the system had spoken.

Nonetheless, he decided to use the skill on the boys standing beside Mitch, just to confirm if the [Reveal] really did have a cool down. But immediately, a golden screen appeared beside his head. This made him cancel out that train of thought, leaving him with only one option which was, Mitch's stats was just too high to be read by him at his current power level.

Klimo was able to clearly read the stats of the second grade student, just like how he did Donovan's. However, he was not impressed as the student, whose name was Coddy had a poison ability and was a lv 4 just as was on his wrist.

Yes, probably one poison attack from coddy could most likely cripple him for life if not kill him outrightly, but he still wasn't impressed. One could only do so much with such an ability, which—as Klimo thought was one of the reasons he was behind Mitch and acting as his bodyguard.

The other student, upon Klimo using the skill, did not seem any better. He was also a level four and his ability was Telepathy.

Now, Klimo wondered why Mitch had such a smile on his face while he looked on at the entrance to the first year section as grade one students trooped in.

And he soon realized why.

"Hey you!" Mitch said, pointing at a plump white-eyed student, the smile on his face turning to a malicious grin.

"Uh-me?" The plumpy student asked, his voice beginning to shake once he saw the power level on Mitch's wrist.

Klimo didn't really need to use the [Reveal] skill to identify him. He was a student in his class and he happened to be the one who had used some sort of ability to send him sprawling on the floor. However, he did, because he wanted to know about that abilty.

[Name: Peter Cobler]

[Race: Human]

[Powers: Surface manipulation]

[Lv 1.1]

[HP 5/5]

[Strength: 5]

[Agility: 3]

[Stamina: 3]

'Surface manipulation uh?' Klimo thought, deciding to lean back, relax and enjoy what was about to happen, which he knew since he'd had firsthand experience in the first 7 years of his life.

'I guess Karma moves faster than I gave it credit for. Let's see you try and trip Mitch.'

Once the other first graders who stood around Peter saw the power level of Mitch, they vanished from beside him.

Although, in fact, they'd just scurried to any table, but they were so fast that it seemed like their images faded away in a blink.

Now, peter was alone, shaking literally.

"W-what do you w-want?" He asked, sweat beginning to gather around his forehead. Within him, he was cursing his bad luck as he knew there was definitely no way in hell that he was going to escape...except Mitch was much kinder than he looked.

Mitch pointed at the finger buffet at the fourth section of the room. "Get me 5 slices of pizza."

Peter gulped. "O-okay."

He proceeded to approach the table in the fourth section and was just about to pick up some pizza slices when he saw a tag on the carton.

'2 coins per slice.'

Immediately, his face twisted into an ugly sight.
