Jedrek noticed that the girl who had been scolding him just a while ago was now completely silent like the god of silence has just dropped by to say "hello" to her.
He found her sudden silence completely odd and so he turned to her only to find her lost in her thoughts and his brows quirked.
He snapped his finger in front of her face, "Blondie, what are you up to?"
Raine snapped out of her thoughts and slowly turned to him with a dazed look, "Huh...?"
He didn't say anything but only cast a probing look towards her and Raine returned his gaze with a blank stare. She then shifted her eyes from his face and to the plastic bags which contained the keychains.
She bit her lips and hesitated for a while as if unsure of what to do. He had said he didn't buy these for her then does that mean he would give the ones she liked to someone else then?
No! she couldn't allow that and so she shrugged and carefully rummaged through the plastic bag, trying to find the one she liked. There were six kitten keychains in the bag, all with the same design but different colors. There was pink, yellow, lilac, blue, orange, and red but out of all these, Raine fancied the pink and lilac colored ones the most.
After a while of searching, she finally found the pink and lilac kittens. She took them out and then pushed the rest to Jedrek.
"You can give them to whoever you want but these two are mine," she held the keychains close to her chest as she spoke. It was a kind of possessiveness like a little kid drawing his territory for his favorite toy and Jedrek found her actions utterly cute.
After making her point clear about the keychains, Raine turned her head towards the window. As Jedrek hadn't started the car yet, she could still get a nice view of the bustling night market and her shoulders relaxed.
Jedrek watched all her actions silently but didn't comment a word. He stared at her relaxed posture as she continued to stare at the night market and unknowingly his eyes shifted to her blonde hair which was tied up in a ponytail.
He had called her Blondie just a while ago but she didn't react to it because her mind wasn't focused at that moment but from the display earlier when the old lady from the shop had inquired about the color of her hair, he had noticed how her expressions completely froze. Even if it was just for a short while, he still detected a bit of uneasiness in her demeanor.
He shook his head in pity. The girl had no idea about the reason for her hair color but he knew them all. But if he told her the reason for it then it would be difficult to get her out of the mess that she created. He had promised that he would get her out as soon as possible but what could he do when circumstances kept pushing him to the wall?
He didn't want to reveal it all but situations kept asking for it. If things continued this way, he couldn't guarantee that he could bring her out of this mess safely.
His misty grey orbs still remained fixed on her hair. Her blonde wavy hair was dangling along her back with every slight inch in her movements. Her hair was a little bit messy due to the earlier rush from the night market but that didn't make it any less attractive.
He slowly raised his hand and carefully tugged at her ponytail. Since it wasn't tied up too tight, it made her hair loosen and dance along her back like a golden waterfall. Her wavy blonde hair was like a reflection of the sun with golden spectrums flying across it.
His actions made Raine's head snap towards him. She was momentarily shocked and her eyes widened in a deep questioning gaze.
Jedrek completely ignored her but twined his long fingers through her wavy locks. Her hair was soft and smooth that he felt that he was playing with the softest silk instead.
Raine stared at him in complete shock, she was just too stunned to even question his actions.
After a while of playing with her hair, he reluctantly drew back his fingers and started the car.
Raine heaved out a deep sigh. When she thought that he was about to drive the car, his deep voice resounded instead, "The color of your hair is related to your father, and..." he tilted his head and glanced at her before he continued, "... I prefer your hair down."
