I went back to the House of Lamentation after school was done for the day. I wasn't hungry at the time, so I went straight to my room and decided to put on my pajamas, a comfy "Living my best life" t-shirt with matching comfy pants. Then, I started to work on all the homework that I was assigned. After I finished, I went straight to bed, exhausted and wanting to go to sleep. However, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't fall asleep, especially when I realized something.
'Lucifer, the oldest brother..., Mammon, the second oldest..., Leviathan, the third oldest..., Satan, the fourth oldest..., Asmodeus, the fifth oldest..., Beelzebub, the sixth oldest..., and the seventh and youngest...?' I recounted multiple times, but no matter what I do I only counted six brothers. I know for a fact that there are seven brothers, and they tell me that the seven brothers live here in the House of Lamentation, but I've only met six of them. 'Going by my knowledge, the seventh brother should be...'
My D.D.D. rings, making me lose my train of thought. I groaned and picked it up, seeing that I got a reply back from Levi.
Leviathan - You say Lucifer mentioned having frozen something? Are you absolutely sure that's what he said?
Daisy - Yep, I'm absolutely sure.
Leviathan - Come to the kitchen. Right now.
Leviathan - Don't tell anyone what you're doing. I don't want anyone to mistakenly think that I hang out with some human normie.
I got out of bed with a tired, exasperated sigh and left my room. Checked to make sure no one was nearby and watching, and made my way to the kitchen. The kitchen wasn't too far from my room, and when I reached the doorway to the kitchen, I heard what sounded like someone eating something. I was pretty sure that it wasn't a burglar, and though the House of Lamentation looks haunted on the outside, I am pretty sure it's not a ghost. I started to back away slowly, pretending that I haven't noticed, when I hear a familiar voice. "Not so fast. Are you going to pretend like you didn't see me here, or is it that you are planning to go tell on me? Meh, I guess it doesn't matter either way. Anyway, what're you doing in the kitchen so late?"
"I was hungry. I didn't have dinner." At that exact moment, my stomach started to growl, proving just how hungry I really was. "Ah, you're hungry? That makes two of us, then. In that case, I understand. When you start feeling hungry in the middle of the night, it's not like you can just wait until morning to eat. Oh, and the refrigerator's empty. I already ate everything in there." 'I could deduce that, knowing that you are the Avatar of Gluttony. He's probably done in the kitchen if there is no food left in the fridge... Wait, maybe I can ask Beel would tell me about the youngest brother, and why I haven't met him yet.'
"What? Is there something you wanted to talk to me about?" I was nervous, yet so curious that I just had to have answers to my question. "Beel, can you tell who the seventh brother is?" It was quiet for a moment, and then Beel moved closer, towering over me with a serious look in his eyes. I was trembling and my heartbeat was increasing as I looked into his eyes. Whether from fear or attraction, I didn't know.
"...Now listen, don't you ever mention him in front of Lucifer. Just so we're clear, I'm not going to tell you anything, either. Lucifer would yell at me if I did. And don't bother asking any of my brothers, either. No one talks about him. Even though he's our brother...we have to treat him like he doesn't exist... It's not right. But since no one can defy Lucifer..." I wanted to comfort Beel, who seemed sad that he was being forced to pretend his younger brother doesn't exist, but I didn't know what to do or say. 'I know I am an outsider, and that this is none of my business, but I feel like something isn't right and I want to help fix it.'
