Chapter 17 - Chapter 16 Lesson 2-15 - The Chihuahua's Warning (Part 2)

"Never trust...mmrmhrm..." After being silent for what seemed like forever, Luke finally spoke up. However, I didn't quite catch what Luke said, so I kneeled down so I could hear him better. "Sorry, I didn't quite catch what you said Could you say that again." I pull my hair back as I come close enough that I could properly hear him, but not so close to invade his personal space. Luke frowned at me, his face growing red.

"Hey! Don't lean down toward me like an adult listening to a child! You don't need to come down to my level! I'm not a kid!" Luke angrily puffed his checks, making me think of how a kid would say and do that. I stood back up and gave Luke an awkward smile, which seemed to calm him down.

"...Never trust a demon. Especially when that demon is Lucifer. Listen to me. He's a monster and a brute. He's uncivilized, immoral, and...and also..." Luke was listing any and all bad things he could say about Lucifer, when he seemed to struggle with what else to say, so I thought I should help. "And a sadist?" I thought of how I noticed that Lucifer enjoyed causing pain and humiliation to people, specifically Mammon, and loves watching them suffer.

"Yes, exactly! He's the most sadistic of sadists! ...I was against this from the beginning. What are they thinking, bringing humans to the Devildom as exchange students... So, you've been warned. You get what I'm saying, right? Okay." As the bell for class to begin rang, Luke left the classroom, leaving me to me to think about what Luke just said. I pushed the thought back so I could focus on what was being taught in class.

When school was done for the day, I went straight back to my room in the House of Lamentation, and began to do the work that was assigned to me at school. After I was finished, I joined the brothers for dinner, and when I was done eating, I went to my room, took a shower, and got ready for bed. I hugged my Pokémon plushie and covered myself up, but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't go to sleep, all because of Luke's words.

I was about to get up and grab me a cool cup of water, when I suddenly heard a voice. "...el...elp..." I immediately stopped, wondering if I actually heard a voice or if it was just my imagination. "Help... Someone help me..." I begin to realize that I wasn't imagining this, and that the person of this voice was in distress and in need of help. Curious, I follow the voice out of my room to see if I could find the source of this mysterious voice.

"Help...Over here!" The voice led me to a set of stairs that seem to lead to an attic of some sort. I was about to climb the stairs, find the source of the voice, and help in any way I can, when I heard a familiar voice from behind me. "Daisy." Almost jumping out of my skin, I turn around to find Lucifer frowning at me. I calmed down knowing it was just Lucifer, but wondering why Lucifer was still up as well and why he was upset with me.

"Stop right there. You'll go no farther...that's not a place for humans. It's dangerous. Go back to your room." Lucifer quickly blocked the way up the stairs, keeping me from proceeding. I knew I couldn't force my way through, as Lucifer was a million times more stronger than me, and I knew I shouldn't try to ask why I couldn't go up there. 'He probably get angry and won't tell me anyway, so I should do as he says. For now.'

"All right." Though I was immeasurably curious, I agreed and did what Lucifer said. "That's the answer I was looking for. Let us hope you actually mean it." Lucifer watched me head back to my room, wanting to make sure that I wasn't going to attempt to get up the attic stairs again. As I begin my trek to my room, I was reminded of Luke's words from early.

Back in my room, I throw myself onto my bed, unable to forget about the mysterious voice. Nor could I stop wondering what Lucifer is hiding and why he wouldn't allow me to go up the attic stairs. 'Man, I am so curious. I feel like Alice from Alice in Wonderland right now. I am going to find out why Lucifer won't let me go upstairs to help the person who was calling to me, and I will find out what he is hiding. But first, I need to sleep.' I close my eyes and try to fall asleep as the voice kept calling to me.
