Adeline was indeed tired from escaping all from the north to the south and also headed east. This according to her instinct was where the witch hut was located or travelled to.
Of course, in the strength that the hut will not be found, it was part of the curse that the hut shall always by itself change its location.
But even Adeline did not know this nor was it included in the vision she saw in the book. All that mattered was that she knew exactly where the hut had been.
Since she used her ability of super speed all from the north into the south, she became tired coupled with the fact that it was already sunrise, she had to hide lest she was burned by the smiting of the sun.
She was quick to find a cave where she could hide for the day to become over. And since she hid in that darkness, she could not ignore the fact that she was hungry.
