I woke up in a luxurious room, the pillows were far nicer than what was in my old room. And the bed was comfortable that it took me a few minutes to realise I was even sleeping on one. Everything was all well and good aside from the fact that I felt horribly ill. But, somehow I felt better than before. It was like I was getting more comfortable in this body.
I was starting go back to the me from the other world, my emotions were disappearing once again. I suppose it's neither good nor bad.
It simply is what it is.
I propped myself up and started taking deep breaths. I try to feel for the 'shards' of Mana that should be in my body, I didn't know what they actually were but for the sake of convenience I'll refer to them as 'Mana Shards.' The reason as to why I'm rushing the process is that I don't know just how much more time my mind will left like this, right now I can think far faster than before.
I closed both eyes and got into a cross legged position, I started taking deep breaths. At first nothing happened, but soon after I felt 'something.' I felt hundreds of Mana Shards within my body, the Shards were already close to forming a core. In my old world, a similar concept was there, a 'core' of Aura was formed to house Aura.
My theory was that I could will the shards to come together, and it seemed to be working. I could feel the Shards coming together bit by bit. The process was rather painful, it was like having Shards of bone tear through muscle fibre all so the bone could become whole again.
However, in my current state no amount of pain could make me flinch. The core was already close to forming, I just had to give it an extra push. Then, blood came out of my mouth, I didn't flinch. Nor did I change my expression, I simply continued forming my core. Soon after, Mana pulsations were released into the surrounding area, without me knowing, many servants rushed into the room.
The Iris, Irene and Cecillia also came in, wondering what on earth was happening. What they saw completely shocked them.
Irene Pendragon POV:
I ran into the room, although I hadn't known Valier for a long time, he was still my half brother. When I first met him, I told him to know his place which may have been a bit harsh. Sure he's the child of a concubine but he's still a kin of mine, so I told myself that I would try to get closer to him. I wasn't sure about whether or not he would awaken as a mage, so I was ready to protect him from the dangers of the world if need be.
But I saw him floating, releasing waves of Mana. I was shocked, a boy who had received no prior training to be a mage was awakening. Granted, I would also have been able to awaken even if I hadn't been taught on how to maximise my awakening rate. But, considering his bodily condition, this was impressive.
Awakening was an extremely painful process If the body hadn't been properly trained, yet he wasn't even flinching. Blood was pouring out of his eyes.
My body froze up when I thought about how dangerous this was, I wanted to help him but there wasn't anyway to do so. Normally awakenings happened when the child was sleeping or was safe, this was to prevent a situation like this. But sometimes people awakened like this, to date, there hasn't been any recorded survivals of these incidents. This is due to the fact that awakening requires a large amount of energy, if there's no energy available the body turns to fat. If that's not available then the body will turn to eating itself.
It was a process similar to starvation.
My mother bit her lower lip while my sister hid behind her, my sister had also awakened. We had awakened at around the same age. With us both awakening at about 7.
"Mother, will he... survive?"
My clenched her fists so tightly that blood seeped out, she probably didn't think of Valier as her child. But she wasn't heartless enough to be completely uncaring about someone who was the child of her late husband.
My mother grit her teeth.
"We can only wait, someone call over doctors, and prepare potions. Use any means necessary to keep him alive."
The servants bowed and did as their lady told them.

Several hours later
We all felt the Mana pulsations increase in intensity, we headed to Valier's room where we saw flames being released from his body. At the same time lightning was bouncing around the room, but at the very center, a darkness was swirling near him.
"A-a double elemental-"
Mages who wielded more than one affinity were sought for, of course you could learn magic from other attributes but you'd never surpass someone with an affinity with. I personally had an affinity with water, and with that I was able to use the derivative attribute, ice magic.
Valier was someone with Fire and Darkness, but he had somehow unlocked lightning magic as soon as he had awakened.
Then, something unthinkable happened, the fire that was once bright red and the lightning that was a beautiful shade of blue changed colour and mixed with the darkness. Forming a pale black flame and a black lightning, their heat and power significantly intensified.
"What the hell? Fusion magic?-"
A servant spoke in utter disbelief, Fusion Magic. The ability to combine two or more elements and harmonise them, and create a power that far surpassed that of the original elements. Fusion Magic consumed a lot of Mana though, especially if the elements opposed each other. However the Dark Attribute and the Light Attribute were the most efficient in terms of Fusion Magic's Mana consumption. They simply harmonised with other elements better, of course things like wind and fire worked rather well.
Breaking me out my thoughts I felt the Mana pulsations slowly die out, hid awakening was nearing its end.
When his awakening finished the doctors rushed over to him and started doing check ups, some servants had prepared a nutrient filled yoghurt for him to have. He was currently passed out, so yoghurt was the best thing for him to eat as it wouldn't require any chewing.
Some servants started feeding him while others started repairing the room, the room was reinforced against magic even then, his flames had scorched the entire room. This was rather impressive because he hadn't even properly used magic, he had just released his magic attributes.
It took Valier until the next morning to wake up, when he did I noticed that something had changed. He seemed calmer, more focused but the thing that had changed most of all was the look in his eye. It was like he had no emotion, like he could kill someone without a second thought.
Like he was some sort of... Demon.
