Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 - Some Memories

Valier Pendragon POV:

I was sitting down sipping on some coffee by myself, but to my surprise someone came over. It was Angelica Godhart.

"Valier, I would like to talk to you In private."

I wolfed down the drink and looked at her, I nodded at her words as I really didn't have the authority nor the bravery to oppose her. She gestured for me to follow her and I obeyed. She took me upstairs to what seemed to be her room. The room was uhhh.... gold.

Very gold with some pink here and there, a rich girl kinda pink and gold.

"I am afraid to tell you that you can ran a background check on you and... I know everything. T-the abuse... the drugs and everything else."

"Drugs? What drugs?-"

I collapsed on to my knees and grasped my head. I started remembering things I shouldn't know. The drugs...

Drugs.

Drugs.

I had always wondered.

'Why did the Demon Bloods only just start awakening? I had attributed my bloodline awakening happened due to the fact I had two parents with the Blood of a Demon. But... catalysts could also cause awakenings. Valier had been used by someone and thrown away, why had I never guessed that he was awakened via a catalyst.'

Memories started flowing into my mind, it was as if millions of repressed memories had been unleashed. The reason why Demon Bloods were so powerful... Cursed Energy. A power different from Mana, but what was the difference between Mana and Cursed Energy? Well I couldn't really remember.

Cursed Energy was a power that was formed within the body of a Demon Blood rather than absorbed. No normal person could use it unless they were in a contract with a Demon Blood. It's also difficult to sense unless you've been exposed to it before. If I can learn to use it, it'll be a powerful asset in the future.

I want to be able to learn how to use Cursed Energy before I unlock my Rune. A Rune is a power that allows people to use powers from beings of myth or living legends. A Rune usually manifests, well... as a Rune. Runes can be something like being able to alter the size of your weapon to being able to halt the flow of time.

Runes can also manifest as weapons or even beasts.

Runes are manifested at age 15, not every mage can use a Rune and not every Rune user is a mage. Some Runes allowed for things like manifesting flames without the use of Mana. But instead it'd cost physical or mental stamina. Some people couldn't manifest Runes or awaken as mages.

Runes have stages, the amount of stages a person can get through depends on... well we don't actually know

After a few more minutes of what would be considered trauma inducing memories, I got up and looked at Angelica. My eyes were far colder than before, with the memories coming back I felt more... whole. It was as my memories were returning. As such, I became more like the old me, the one who had destroyed nations in more ways than one.

"Angelica, I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to remain quiet about everything."

For the first time, we were both standing on even ground, I was a bit taller than she was. I looked down on her, her eyes widened slightly when she heard the tone I was using.

"I'll accept your request, but don't get cocky you illegitimate child."

She released an intense wave of Mana, I felt it weigh down on my body but I remained strong. I released my own pressure, I looked down at her golden eyes. Her hair started swaying a bit from the pressure we were releasing, after a few more seconds of our Auras colliding the room started cracking. Both of us could understand that the other party wasn't trying, so we rescinded our pressures.

"Not bad, Valier was your name wasn't it? I look forward to seeing you grow your wings, but don't get too carried away."

She took a step forward in an elegant manner, her golden eyes filled with excitement, she stood beside me and spoke in a tone that shouldn't belong to an 8 year old.

"If you get too out of line, I'll pluck your wings and strip you of your freedom."

Angelica Godhart POV:

I walked out of my room with a smile on my face, at first I pitied him and I was planning on letting him live a life in peace. But... that pressure he released, it was pretty decent. And he wasn't even trying, I can't let someone as talented as that waste their life. But I'm a bit annoyed, when we first met he pretended to be shook by my pressure. But he was probably laughing his ass- I mean he was likely amused to the point where his buttocks may have fallen off.

Once I exited the room the Darkness member from earlier on was there, she was there incase anything dangerous happened. We weren't sure of the raw power or the combat ability he possessed. And we weren't sure if he had manifested a bloodline ability from either of his parents, so it was best for someone to be on site just for the added security.

"So, what do you think of him? How close is he to me in terms of strength."

I spoke in a playful voice as I truly was excited, in my personal opinion he, likely possessed power either on par or slightly below my own. The informant took a deep breath before replying to me.

"Your Imperial Highness, in my opinion, he has power equivalent or somewhat below your own. But, what I'm about to say is completely baseless. That boy... his actual skill in combat may surpass my own, this is simply based on a warriors intuition so take it with a grain of salt."

I smiled at her, I completely agreed with her, my raw power was above his but just from the way he held himself. I could tell that he was skilled in combat, I myself am somewhat skilled in combat but I think- no, I'm confident that he surpasses me in that regard.

"Before I said not to keep tabs as I had lost interest, even now the order remains. But, now, I want to see how things go. It'd be a shame spoiling the whole thing for myself don't you think?"
