Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 - Leon Gladius

It had been a few days since I had heard Iris' rant, and today I was supposedly heading over to the Gladius residence. Leon wanted to bond with me or some shit, I'm not too sure. I was in the car, it was just me and the driver. I was wearing a simple black outfit, a black t-shirt and a pair of black pants. In around an hour, we arrived at the Gladius residence where I saw Leon waiting for me, behind him was a group of maids and butlers. I got out of the car and the driver left without saying another word.

I looked at Leon, he had a smile on his face as he approached me. He stretched out his hand, and kinda left it there.

I looked at his hand incredulously, in my previous world I never really had any REAL conversations.

"It's a hand shake. It's a sign of mutual friendship."

Leon smiled at me as if understanding my confusion, I reached for his hand and grasped it and then we did this... 'hand shake' together.

I smiled back at him, I didn't feel anything from this exchange but I had a feeling that if I smiled now, it'd go a long way in making him my 'friend.'

We headed over to their mansion, on the way there, I think Leon fell down on the floor over twenty times.

"You are... very clumsy." I stated.

"Shut it."

Leon glared at me while pinching his nose in pain, even in the novel he fell down. A lot. It was something that was meant to be funny but I found it rather irksome. How can someone who aspires to be strong fall to nothing? No seriously, how the fuck do you trip over nothing? I used to think he was cursed or something.

We made our way to the gardens, we walked around the garden for a while, talking about random things.

"You know, I have a question for you, you don't have to answer it if you don't want to. But, the people from the Pendragon family, they don't like you do they? Well, not your sisters, they seem to be fond of you. But the Archduchess, the servants and everyone else seems to dislike you. You might be wondering why I think this, it's simple, the servant who drove you here seems to have no respect for you. If a servant from my family were to drop me off then they would make sure I had everything I needed and then they would ask if they were allowed to leave, but your servant just... ditched you? And the Archduchess, something about her tells me that she despises you."

I smile at him, I honestly wasn't too sure about noble mannerisms, although I haven't said this yet, the etiquette teachers and academics teachers aren't too high quality. My Magic teachers are of pretty good quality though, but I've had a feeling that Trodius was only brung to teach me so that he'd leave. Let me explain, if my assumptions are correct Cecillia probably wanted to embarrass me, or to knock down my ego but Trodius ended up staying behind since he took interest in me. My Dark Magic teacher seems to be only a bit above average though. I assume she didn't want my Dark Magic to grow too strong, probably to make sure I don't take away any attention from her daughters.

"Yeah, I've thought about it for a while and I've come to the conclusion that Cecillia dislikes me. She hasn't done anything too extreme."

Although I've not made a big deal out of it, I'm very aware that Cecillia dislikes me. But she doesn't hate me, but she doesn't want me in the way. First of all, she dislikes the fact that she alone wasn't enough for her husband, and that he wanted to have another woman. But in spite of that, she only ignored my existence. But, I have talent. In combat, I'm superior to both her daughters, and she really doesn't want me to overshadow her daughters which I honestly don't really mind. And since I'm only 'average' in terms of academics, she isn't planning on putting in too much effort in getting rid of me or causing me any trouble.

"I see, well, you're stronger than me. Maybe not as smart, but stronger at the very least. I just wanted to say that if you ever need-"

As he was speaking, he tripped on literally nothing and crashed to the ground face first, he got up almost immediately. He started brushing himself off, and without saying anything else he moved on as if nothing had actually happened.

'I'm not even sure as to how I should react to this.'

"Anyways, I'm guessing you'll be attending Babbylon Academy when you're 15?"

Leon asked, he had a glint of curiosity on his face.

"Yeah, I will, but I'll probably only get into one of the lower classes."

(Sorry for the short chapter, I've had tests and stuff and it's just really difficult for me to keep getting high marks whilst consistently posting stuff, so I'll release a shorter chapter and then maybe release another one within a few days. Also, we're nearing a time skip so that's when you'll see some interesting stuff since I don't plan on writing everything from his childhood.)
