A servant handed me a simple iron sword while Leon was given a spear that seemed to be of similar quality to my weapon. I smiled, they had honour, they truly were Knights. Honourable, trustworthy and chivalrous. It's ethical and quite admirable, but that's it. It's not very practical, you know, not being able to take people hostage. Not being able to kill people simply because they are 'unrelated', it sounds like a pain in the ass.
I walked over to the arena, my white hair gently swaying back and forth due to the light breeze dancing around us.
'Time to get my ass kicked, with style.'
I raised my sword and got into a stance that mimicked Kendo's basic stance. I say 'mimicked' because this is a sword style that I copied off some guy who came from the East. Leon raised his spear and got into a defensive stance, he seemed to be... excited? Well, he thinks I'm a strong fighter, but the poor guy will be disappointed to see how 'weak' I am. Oh, and maybe he might stop wanting to be my friend, he's a bit... annoying in my eyes.
I charged at him, and swung my sword down at him with all my strength. He sidestepped my blow, he stabbed his spear into the ground and used it to gain some momentum. He used that momentum to perform a spin kick, he aimed his kick at my head. I 'narrowly' dodged his blow and 'clumsily' fell to the floor. Leon aimed his spear at my head, I used my sword to 'barely' manage to deflect his strike. His spear barely missed my neck. Leon had an interesting look in his eyes, it was then that I realised that I wasn't fighting some random child. I had been fighting the main characters best friend, he was a person who was considered a living fortress. A sniper who's spear seem to transcend speed itself.
I dropped my sword and raised my hands in defeat, this fight was a short one. But, it proved he was much stronger than I was. And I had made sure it looked like I had tried my best.
Without warning, I heard a repeated noise. I wasn't sure what it was, I looked around and saw Knights putting their hands together and making a weird noise. They were... clapping? Ah, they must be happy with their young master for besting me, who's 'definitely' related to the previous Archduke, a person with the bloodline of the Dragons.
A bearded Knight spoke up.
"Young masters, that was a splendid fight. Especially you, Young Master Valier, in your age group; there aren't very many children who would willingly accept a challenge from our young master, even if it would damage their reputation they would politely decline. But, you accepted with no hesitation. Even if you aren't as strong as our Young Master, you should be proud of your will power. Throughout the entire fight I could tell that you were full of determination, and with all due to respect to my Young Master, I believe that in terms of sheer will power you likely eclipse him, and every other person within your age group."
Leon moved away and handed his spear to a servant, he extended his hand towards me with a smile on his face.
"I suppose I was wrong, you're not very powerful. But, make no mistake."
I grabbed his hand and he pulled me off the ground.
"You are strong."
'Well no fucking shit, I'm stronger than a surprising number of people.'
"You too?"
'Wait what the fuck am I saying?'
"Pffft-"
The bearded Knight seemed to be holding back his laughs but he tried his best to stop, did he find what I said amusing? Back in my old world, I didn't have any conversations that were unrelated to combat, so it's actually surprisingly difficult for me to actually hold a conversation. It's far easier to think of battle strategies than it is to talk to people.
"Anyways, would you like to stay for dinner? My older brother and sister are both home tonight, my mother and father are both out on a date or something. This is the first time in a while that my brother and sister have been home, they've been away at this training place for Knights. My father believes that to be respected by your Knights, you must show that you deserve the respect because of your abilities, not because of your lineage. Or something like that, I'm not too sure."
"I suppose I can stay, I don't have any classes or anything so I don't Cecillia will mind me staying for a while longer."
Once our weapons were out away, we headed into the main building, we were both covered in dirt but no one was annoyed, the servants smiled at us warmly.
'I suppose I really will have to make my servants a bit more... you know, subservient.'
***
I was taken into a guest room, a servant brought me some clothes and said that I should leave my dirty clothes in the room and that I should just head downstairs whenever I was ready. The clothes were... comfortable, not the high quality stuff I would wear when I was out on formal events. It was a plain white t shirt and some nice and soft joggers that I would probably be happy to sleep in.
I headed downstairs and to the dining room where Leon was in his Pjs. Sat there was a girl who young, but older than I was and there was also a boy who seemed to be of the same age. I recognised the woman as Leon's older sister, however I did not recognise the boy. The boy was sat where the family head would usually sit, with Leon's sister on his right and Leon on his left. Leon gestured for me to sit beside him, so I obliged. The two children had the same blonde hair and blue eyes the Leon did, the girl had long hair while the boy had hair that was a bit on the longer side, his hair was a bit messy but it looked good on him. They were both unrealistically good looking, the boy was handsome while the girl was as good looking as Irene. Well, it made sense, both of them were part of the main characters harem.
"Good afternoon Valier, as you might have heard, we are Leon's elder siblings. I am Lucas and this is my-"
Before Lucas could continue speaking the woman, who I already recognised as Aurora, began to speak.
"Don't go taking my introduction away from me!"
Aurora spoke with mild irritation, she wasn't actually mad though. I mean, in the novel she was actually kind of like a comfort character, she was clumsy, kind and she disliked anyone being in pain. She was a Saint of sorts. She could use Gravity Magic. It was the Derivative Magic of wind. Well, it was called gravity magic but it also did things that seemed to look like Telekinesis. But anyways, in the novel, she would use it defensively unlike her brother who would use gravity Magic to make his spear completely massless. And then it'd end up moving at the speed of light.
Of course, later in the novel, spear would already surpass that speed without him even needing put any Mana into it. His superhuman physique was overpowered. Leon hasn't unlocked Gravity Magic yet, but I'm sure it'll come to him before we enter the academy.
"Anyways, Valier, my brother's told us all about you. We only came home yesterday but he was babbling about how much happier he was with you as his friend."
