(A/N: Last night, I came back from playing badminton, was tired but finally had some time on my hands so I decided to give yall a chap. If everything goes well and I finish up some revision I'll be able to maybe give you a chapter by Monday? No promises though!)
"I see, Valier, I see you as a friend. So, if there's a situation where you need the aid of House Gladius, I will personally make a move. Of course, if you do something that's too unethical I'll be one of the first to stop you. Of course, should I ever stray from the path of a Knight, put and end to me. Regardless of whether it's voluntary or involuntary. I'd rather die from you than some random person."
I nodded my head at his rather grim words, although I had acquired a powerful ally, they may become my enemies if I do anything that strays too far from their values. The Gladius House is a house of Knights, their progenitor served as the first Emperor's Knight. They have a rather simple bloodline ability that allows them to have superior physical bodies, denser muscles and stronger skeletal structures. Their training is brutal but catered to refining their abnormal bodies. They're basically super human.
Soon after, a man wearing armour, a Knight, came up to us. He bowed towards Leon and spoke in a tone that showed his subservience.
"Young Master, the Knights are going to have their daily training, would you like to join us?"
He then raised his head, then he noticed me and immediately went back down to bowing. Just from how he moved, he seemed to respect me more than my own servants.
"Young Master of Pendragon Family, we extend our invitation to you. But, with all due respect, I'm not entirely sure If your body will be able to..."
Leon had a smile on his face, his blue eyes were glowing, literally. Your eyes tend to glow when you use Mana or Magic.
"I'll take part in your training, but I'm not sure if my body will be able to last for the entire session, but I'll do my best!"
The Knight and Leon smiled at my 'enthusiasm', what they didn't know is that in my previous world I had trained with weapons, a lot. I had trained so much that the lines on my hands were outnumbered by the number of scars and calluses I had. Of course they'd heal me one way or another, but even then they weren't able to fully heal my hands.
Even if my body crumbles, I will not stop. Well, after all the training I've been through, I don't really feel pain...
I followed Leon and soon he took me to a courtyard looking place that was being used for training. The place was simple but it was perfect for training, it had weapons, dummies and everything else you need to train. It was probably designed to be plain and simple to make sure you were focused only on training.
I saw Knights running around the training grounds wearing some fairly heavy looking metal armour, what stood out to me was the fact that they weren't using Mana. They had trained their bodies to a point where they could operate at a decent level without Mana, the armour wasn't too heavy by my standards but even then this was still pretty impressive.
(A/N: Just wanted to say that the armour the knights are wearing is actually really fucking heavy, but you know, this is all Valier's POV, and he's describing what he sees thinks or sees rather than what someone else might think.)
Personally, I didn't like armour since it inhibited my movement and if there was anyone who could manipulate metal on the battlefield, armour would simply become a weapon for them. And it just makes too much noise.
"Our Knights usually run a few laps while wearing armour to get themselves warmed up, get their heart beating, and get them ready to train. Today's training is more of a treat for them, instead of the usual training they get to spar against one another. We usually hold a tournament style thing every month, and I may or may not have planned for you to come over tod-"
While speaking, he fell on the floor. By defying logic itself he somehow managed to fall while standing still? Saying I was flabbergasted was an understatement. He calmly got back up after dusting himself off, pretending that nothing had happened.
I sighed, although the running laps to warm up wasn't something I would personally consider difficult. My body is of a completely different opinion, this body is pretty weak. The Pendragons had only hired spell casters and long range fighters as my teachers. And after doing things like studies and etiquette classes, my young body just isn't capable of doing any physical training. And that really holds me back considering my specialty is close quarters combat.
Leon was wearing his noble atire, the stuff was actually quite flexible and pretty good for combat. Of course they offered little defence, but for someone like Leon who's body was superior to most, he didn't need armour. Well, in his current state armour would be useful but after a certain point his skin would be enough. I assume that the Gladius House didn't want him to develop any habits related to armour, by that I mean not using your full range of motion. If someone who wore armour for a long time suddenly didn't need it, they would take an exorbitant amount of time to fully use all of their range of motion effectively as they have been used to being forced to constrict their range of movement.
Or something like that, I'm not too knowledgeable on armour, most people that I fought didn't need armour as they constantly surrounded themselves in Aura. It was an advanced technique that required a large Aura pool, but those were the kinds of people needed to combat me.
My last fight in the other world was one where I was giving up, lots of my Aura pool had been used up, I had received a poison that was likely tailored to kill me. You know, I was at a pretty huge disadvantage, but even then, if it weren't for me giving up.
I may have won, of course If I hadn't been running out of Aura, I would have won. But even in that state, there was a fair chance of me winning.
Leon tapped my shoulder to get my attention, I looked at the training grounds and saw two Knights facing each other. Each was unarmed and not wearing any armour.
Then I heard a sound, and nothing else happened for a while, I looked to my side and saw that Leon was on the floor. He fell, while standing still, again.
