Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4: ONE CONDITION

"Mmh..." She thought..."so I'll be wrapped in a towel the whole day." She laughed lightly. It was an expensive joke.

Little did she know that a CCTV was already installed in the room and Fidel watched her as she got out of the bathroom in a towel. Quickly, he ordered some dresses online and sleeping dresses. Minutes later, the neatly packed clothes were delivered and a maid knocked on her door.

"Excuse me?" Lian opened a small space and looked at the maid. She was still in her early twenties.

"Here are your clothes. Boss send them to you." She said, handing her a neatly wrapped box.

"Thank you." She grabbed the box and closed the door. All the while when she was changing, Fidel was watching her. Her pale skin turned him on. He couldn't help but admire her. After changing, Lian had nothing else to do but pace the room and look bored.

"What's this? Am just too tired with everything. So am forced to be someone's wife? Huh! Poor me!" She said, shaking her head sadly.

She was in a short red dress and her feet stepped barely on the soft carpet as she paces. Though angry and sad, she looked cute. Her hair hung freely on her shoulder and it went down to her waist. Suddenly she heard the door being knocked. She went and opened a small gap. When she saw it was Fidel, she shut the door on his face.

After a while, Fidel pried the door open and entered. Lian looked at him in shock.

"What do you think you are doing?" She asked, still shocked.

"You couldn't let me, so I had to use other means." Fidel said.

"Whatever..." Lian looked away. "I need to go to work now. If you wanted me to know where you stay, I've known it already. Can you let me go?" Lian asked.

"On one condition." Fidel pulled the bedside seat and sat down.

"Say it."

"If you accept to go with the guards." Fidel said.

"No" how could she accept to walk around and attract everyone's attention with cars which had the Nolan's logo? Never!

"Then you can't go anywhere." Fidel said. Lain looked at him angrily. She really wanted to tear him apart. With nothing to say or do, she decided to vent her anger somewhere else.

"How will I stay in a room without a door?"

"How will I stay in a room without a door? How is that possible?" Angrily, she asked. "Even if I came to your house, you have no authority to pry the door to my room open!"

"Who told you this is your room?" Fidel asked.

'Ooh... It's not my room right?" Lian smiled mockingly," then why not allow me move out if I don't have a room here?"

"I didn't say you don't have a room here." Fidel said.

Liana fumed. She didn't know what to say and it seemed he would beat her on her own game. She angrily walked to the window and looked out. The back yard had a bed of flowers and a luxurious field. All this weren't beautiful to her right now. Slowly, she sighed sadly, her eyes clouding. She slowly turned to Fidel and looked at him with teary eyes.

"Can you let me go please?" For the first time since they first met today, she begged him.

"On one condition." Fidel said.

"Except going out with the guards, I can accept anything else." Her voice was pleading. She tried being hard and it didn't work. She decided on persuading him to see if it worked.

"Ok...are you sure you will accept?" Fidel asked.

"Dead sure." She nodded hard as if her whole life depended on his words.

"Marry me."

Lian coughed and the drop of tear that was hanging dangerously on her lower eyelid finally dropped and slid down her face. She didn't see that coming. How could she marry a person she didn't love? Wasn't it the same thing as remaining here as a captive?

"Why? Why do you hate me that much that you want to hold me captive? What have I done to you? Why are you doing this to me? Talk to me, who am I to you? A sex slave sold out by her family to cover up for the company's bankruptcy? Talk to me! At least let me free! At least let me decide everything on my own!" Desperate, Lian shouted, crying and shaking him roughly. In her voice, he could hear and feel her pain and regrets. He could feel that her people really sold her out, but he had already made his decision in his mind and he wasn't going back.

Lian finally let go and fell in the bed, wetting the pillow with her tears. She cried herself to sleep. Fidel watched her, his heart bleeding. He wanted to comfort her, but he knew she wouldn't believe him right now. With a heavy heart, he walked out of the room.
