Night was already creeping in and the lights were switched on, illuminating everywhere in and outside the castle. Lian moved to the veranda and sat on the cold floor looking at the flower garden. She felt down and rejected. Though she had tried being happy while reaching out for the butterflies and sniffing the flowers, she knew in her heart that this didn't give her the satisfaction she needed. In the end of the day, she needed to get out of here and be free. In just one day, her whole world seem to turn upside down and her peaceful life brought to an abrupt end.
"Huh! If only dad could be a little bit sensible." She thought. I do what I do for my own good. Why would I be forced to live with a person I don't love? I work for my own money, my own maintenance. I don't want to be someone's wife, not just now... And even if I wanted, then not this man. I totally don't love him.
Angrily, she stamped her feet to the ground. She was too desperate now. She only needed to be out of this place and then she would plan her whole life afterwards.
"You sure you want to be here?" Sarcastically, she asked herself and laughed. She didn't like the joke she personally made. Soon she frowned and bit her lower lip.
"Madam, supper is ready." A voice called. Looking back, she saw Bella who was smiling sweetly at her.
"Bella who do you think I am?" Lian asked while standing up.
"I think... You're a lucky lady. Boss has never brought anyone home, leave alone restricting anyone to leave. He has never shown much concern to any lady as much as he showed you." Bella said.
"Mmh... I feel am a nobody. Someone whose decision doesn't matter to anyone. Someone who has no voice and power over her own life." Lian bit her lower lip hard that it reddened. Bella shook her head.
Together, they went in. She led her to the dining room and opened the door. Lian entered. Inside, Fidel was eating. Eden stood beside him. When Lian entered, Eden bowed and left. Lian pulled a chair at the far end of the table and sat down.
"Come sit beside me." Fidel said. Lian just looked at him, then at the food neatly arranged and well on the table. Her appetite was gone.
"Am not hungry anymore." She said.
"You have to eat. You didn't take any meal." Fidel said, standing up and reaching out of her. Lian jumped out of her seat and stood aside, looking at him with a bored look.
Fidel sighed and resumed his seat. The more stubborn she became, the more he wanted to be with her. Lian sat down and decided to eat. After all it was true she was hungry. She eat quickly, oblivious of the two eyes looking at her. Within a few minutes, she was done and pushed the plates aside. Without saying a word, she stood up and left.
Walking to the door of the room she thought she would spend the night in, she was shocked to find the room locked. She walked back into the dining room.
"What's the meaning of locking my room? Give me the key." She said.
"You can't stay there tonight." Fidel said, studying the girl before him.
"What do you mean I can't stay there? Where do you want me to spend the night?" Lian asked.
"In my room." Fidel said.
"What? Never ... We aren't married, how can I stay in your room?" Lian asked and with that, she stormed out. Lian sat on the floor, leaning on the locked door with her head buried in her knees. Why would he force her to sleep in his room? Is he pulling a dirty trick?
When Fidel came upstairs, he was shocked that Lian curled on the cold floor. This girl really can take risks. He thought her words made sense. They weren't married so she would stay in his room.
Immediately Fidel opened the door, Lian stood up and walked in. She locked the door behind her and immediately went into bed. She pitied herself to sleep.
Early the next morning, she woke up intending to go to work today. After slipping into sandals after a bath, she went downstairs for breakfast but was surprised to find the house busy than yesterday. She walked into the dining room and ate the food on the table without caring. She then walked back into her room and got changed in the clothes Fidel had bought her and her previous heels. She grabbed her handbag and walked out.
"Madam where are you going?" Eden asked, surprised.
"What do you mean where am I going? Am I supposed to stay here all day?" Lian asked.
"No... But..."
"But what?" Lian asked.
"But it's your wedding day." Eden said.
Lian stumbled back and supported herself with the rails. Did she hear it right? "What did you say?"
"Madam you can't go out... It's your wedding day." Eden repeated, then went away.
