Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7: IT'S JUST A SMALL WEDDING

Lian leaned back, breathing heavily. A maid came to her.

"Madam, you are needed in the dressing room. The make-up artist is here already."

"Will you just shut up? Will you stop? What the fuck are you people talking about? Who arranged all this?" Lian shouted.

"Madam please, don't make our work difficult, please cooperate." The maid said. Lian looked at her for a while, then ran upstairs, dropping the handbag in her arms. She stormed into Fidel's room. Fidel was in a black canvas suit.

"I need an explanation." Lian started. "What's the meaning of all this?"

"You said we can't share a bed because we are not a couple already. So I decided we get married today." Fidel said. "It will be a small wedding but I will make it up to you one day."

"Will you shut up? I need to report to work. What nonsense are you spouting?" Lian asked, grinding her teeth. Fidel held out a piece of well folded paper to her. She snatched it and looked at it, then supported herself with the end frame. She felt her head spinning.

"When?" Lian asked unbelievably. The paper showed she had resigned from work.

"I commanded them to..." Fidel started but a hot slap landed on his face

"Why? Why would you do this to me? For heaven's sake that's my job! I mean a job I searched for it by myself, why would you do this to?" Lian roared, tears rolling down her face. Fidel touched his handsome face and rolled his pure eyes with golden iris.

"If you did this for the sake of that fucking marriage, then forget it. I can't marry you." Lian cried.

"You have no choice. You can't go back home, and you can't resume work either." Fidel sneered.

Lian cried out of the room and the maids waited for her. The moment she stepped out of the room, they led her to the dressing. She followed silently crying as she slowly wiped the tears. She wouldn't understand why everything was happening the way it was.

The make-up artist had a hard time as every time she had to redo. Tears washed out the make up as soon as it was applied.

"Madam calm down please." She begged.

"Are you asking me to calm down? Do you understand the pain and disappointed in my heart?" Lian asked.

"Madam you should be happy instead. Every lady wishes to get closer to the boss, at least you are better than most of us." The make-up artist said.

"What's your name?' Lian asked.

"Sarah." She said, surprised that Lian asked her name.

"Sarah I'll remember you. Maybe someday you will have the chance to get close to that man every lady dreams off." Lian said sadly, wiping the tears with the back of her hand.

"Madam it's not what you think. Am sorry." Sarah trembled. She didn't want to get on the worst side of Fidel. She slowly resumed doing the make-up.

"Enough." Lian gently pushed her away and stood up.

Everyone expected to see her look in the mirror and exclaim how beautiful and charming she was. But Lian walked out of the dressing room and back into her room. She thought of a better way to disgrace Fidel. Maybe that way, she will be set free. Forcing a fake smile, she walked into Fidel's bedroom. Fidel welcomed her warmly and helped her sit on the bed. Soon, Lian heard the voices of people. The guests were here.

"Is this the wedding venue?" She asked.

"Mmh....I already told you this is just a small wedding. I just had your family members and my parents attend the wedding. They will be our witnesses. The lawyer will be in soon." Fidel said, fastening his tie.

Lian smiled bitterly. So he just want a fast wedding because he's eager to let things go down with me?

Fidel was eager to have Lian. He couldn't understand himself since the first time he saw her. His feelings were just unexplainable. He looked at the girl who was lost in thoughts and swallowed hard. The make-up was roughly made and he could see traces of tears on her small pretty face. Her black eyes shone and she bit her rosy lips. Softly, he raised his hand and patted him.

Lian looked at him calmly before standing up. Before she could walk out, Eden walked in.

"Boss, everything is ready." Eden said respectfully.

"We need to go now." Fidel held Lian's arm and walked out.

Lian looked at the people present, her dad, her two sisters, Anes and Mr. Nolan together with the guards and a judge. This wasn't the wedding she always wanted to have. Holding a banquet of flowers and the veil slightly covering her face, she walked down the lane with Fidel on her side. She could see the eyes of her sisters preying on her. No flower girl, no fancy meals, no special guest, just the bride and the groom followed by a few bodyguards to the lawyer's side.

Though everything looked simple, the bride and the groom looked outstanding. Though sad, her face was still radiant.
