Healing heart
After her mother divorces her abusive father, 15-year-old Chinonso moves to a new neighborhood in Lagos, carrying the weight of a painful past that she keeps hidden from everyone. Struggling with trust and haunted by trauma, Chinonso keeps to herself at her new school, determined to avoid attention—especially from boys.
But when Tobi, a kind-hearted and patient classmate, is assigned to help her with schoolwork, their unlikely friendship begins to blossom. As their bond deepens, Chinonso slowly lets down her walls, learning to trust Tobi. But her painful past and fear of being hurt again make it difficult for her to fully embrace the love that is quietly growing between them.
Through moments of vulnerability, understanding, and support, Tobi proves that love doesn’t have to hurt. Together, they face the challenges of school, family, and society, navigating the complexities of her healing journey. In the end, Chinonso learns that while the scars of her past may never fully disappear, the love she shares with Tobi gives her the strength to heal and move forward, finding hope in a future together.
