Chapter 6 - The Rescue
Although Lucie had thought that within her head, she was still however tremendously surprised that the young lady with this noble aura exuding from her delicate-looking, beautifully-figured body, was actually an Immortal, a highborn Immortal for that matter, which simply meant that she was probably from a superior or supreme family of Immortals.
"Wow." Lucie said in respect and admiration while Ethena only smiled at her.
"I previously didn't know that you were an Immortal. If not, I wouldn't be afraid of anything or anyone." Lucie said while Ethena understandably nodded her head.
Lucie then spoke further, "I hope I don't sound intrusive, but what are you doing in our world? Isn't this world really shallow for you? You know, there is nothing here that will amaze you or cause you to be awed. It's just the intents of greediness, lust, then deaths, miseries, chaos engulfing everywhere all the time."
Ethena looked at her and smilingly said, "I know all that, but I have learned to ignore them to see the beautiful things that need to be appreciated."
She then continued with a serious look manifesting in her face, "Actually, it's true that your world really can't compare to my world, as they are vastly incomparable in terms of grandness and beauty. However, my world is much more smaller when compared to yours, with yours being tens of times larger than all the other worlds combined together."
"I have journeyed round my world many times and have gotten excessively bored of it. There is nothing new to see there again and be deeply fascinated about. Besides, it's just like here as chaos and destruction are being spread here and there in battles that rampantly occur between Immortal Halls that want to ascend to supremacy and control the other halls. But here in this world, I have come across many things such as the domestic and wild beasts, the grandiose buildings that you humans intelligently designed and built, the large rivers, vast seas and seemingly boundless oceans. Then the grasslands, forests, valleys, and delicious tasty foods that I have come across in this enormous city alone, while there are still many more cities that abound in this world and will definitely possess their own awing and magnificent elements of beauty. So, those are things that I am here for."
Once Ethena finished saying that and smiled at Lucie, Lucie couldn't help but look at her in a new light.
"Well, welcome to our world, Miss. Ethena." Lucie said while Ethena appreciatively nodded her head.
"So, apart from flight, superhuman physical strength, immense movement speed, unseen destructive force that can be unleashed from your palms, what other things can you do?" Lucie asked, looking at Ethena with a curious look in her face.
"Well, many more things." Ethena replied with a smile in her face.
She then spoke further, "I can see far, hear far, perceive really faint smells or scents from faraway places, see through objects, regenerate rapidly and help others to heal tremendously fast from wounds or injuries sustained."
"Wow." Lucie uttered with an astonished expression in her face.
She then asked, "Can all immortals do that? Or the abilities that you listed can only be performed by Highborn Immortals like yourself?"
"Well, all Immortals can do what I just mentioned. However, as an Highborn, I am blessed with abilities of my own which many of my people consider to be both spectacular and unique. These are abilities to move much more faster than them if I want to, scan through memories of any being in the grasp of my hands, give out blinding, colored glows of light to temporarily visually disorient or permanently blind adversaries, manipulate the earth to a great extent where I can lift, push, pull, spin colossal amounts of grains of sand, stones, boulders, large rocks and so on, then shoot off continuous barrages of destructive air currents from my palms using my power over the element of air."
"While other unique abilities that I can exhibit are speaking with this Mystical Voice that can affect the minds and brains of people that I targeted and afflict them with overwhelming pain that could rapidly bring about their deaths, compel people to do things against their will with my Mystical Gaze ability, release a dark purple blast of a powerful mystifying energy that will absolutely decimate everything in its path." Ethena said, not holding back on mentioning her abilities to Lucie who couldn't help but have a strongly bedazzled expression appear in her face.
"Wow!" Lucie said with a smile as she stared at Ethena who now began to give out this divinely Immortal glow from her body which however had always been there but she couldn't see or become aware about.
She then said further with a deprecating smile appearing in her face, "I wish I was an Immortal. Being a human is really nothing. All we can do is work hard to eat, intensely fear when an event that that we don't understand it origination occurs, then die when it's time, or due to a stupid illness of some sorts. Ugh!"
"It's okay, Lucie." Ethena said in a comforting manner.
She then continued, "To me, you are doing just fine. And take away the rubbish idea that Immortals don't actually die from your head. We do die, after we have lived out our astronomical lifespan."
Once Ethena said that, Lucie nodded her head but in a somewhat unconvinced manner.
"Alright. Now that you have known many things about me, it's time to go free your brother from his torturous confinement." Ethena said with strong determination in her voice.
Then without waiting to hear what Lucie wanted to say, Ethena suddenly grabbed Lucie by an arm and instantly shot towards the high roof of the tower.
BANG!
With the aim of her other hand at the roof, a slight invisible force instantly discharged from it and blasted into the roof, abruptly disintegrating it and opening a giant hole for her to leave with Lucie.
Then once she came out with Lucie grasped tightly by the arm, she shot away at a high speed to the place where Lucie's brother was kept. She didn't need to ask Lucie where he was since as soon as she touched Lucie when she clasped her arm, and activated her Memory Scan ability where she performed a rapid selective scan, she was able to easily identify where he was kept in the street called Columbus street; the deserted street where their lair was located.
...
A second later, they arrived in Columbus street, like many dozens of feet away from the towering building in the street that could be called the Black Scorpion's lair.
"What? We are there already. So fast. But how did you know it was here?" Lucie asked in shock, while Ethena who wasn't paying attention to what Lucie questioned her, used her powerful vision to see into the far distance, in the direction that the massive building housing the Black Scorpion was located.
So, now gazing upon the building where she even saw through it to stare at everyone in there and abruptly understand everything that was going on, she switched her off telescopic vision ability and turned her head to look at Lucie who still had a bewildered expression written all over her face.
She then smilingly said, "Wait here, Lucie. I will be right back."
Whoosh!!
Once she said that and without waiting for Lucie's response, she immediately cannoned towards the building like a furious lightning bolt.
Then once she appeared in front of it in the fraction of a second later, she immediately sent out her superhumanly strong fist at the thick metallic door in her path to ruthlessly rip it away from it hinges.
BANG!!
The moment her powerful fist struck the large metallic door, the door instantly shattered apart into hundreds of fragments that then abruptly shot off as actual projectiles towards the people gathered behind it, viciously stabbing into their bodies and then pinning them against the solid wall that stood many feet away from the entrance into the building.
Once she was able to gain entrance into the building using superhuman brute force, she dashed off at many times the speed of a cheetah to where Lucie's brother, Kenneth was kept in confinement.
The instant she got there at that shocking speed, she used her powerful but bare, dainty hands to effortlessly pull out the large and thick steel pole that Kenneth was heavily tied to by some thick rope so as to prevent him from escaping. And as soon as she did that, she flung it towards a wall where the pole smashed real hard into it and broke out of it in that same instant, shooting off into the far distance like an arrow.
While Kenneth who was sitting hopelessly on the ground and was waiting for the grim messenger of death to come to him anytime soon, suddenly felt this gentle and really comforting hands touch him from behind.
Then before he could try to think of who or what owned such a soft and delicate palm that had made gentle contact with his back, he could suddenly start to feel the intensely agonizing pain that he had been feeling continually for months till this present day, quickly fading away, and such that a few seconds later, he couldn't feel any of those heart-rending and mind-splitting pain anymore. Besides, he suddenly got this powerful rush of energy that made him totally feel like he was re-animated by some anciently powerful being.
"Kenneth, I am here on behalf of your loving sister to rescue you and bring down complete damnation upon this filthy, devil spawns-group that caused you serious bodily harm for some reason that sounds nonsensical to me." Ethena said and helped the fully-recovered Kenneth to his feet from his previous, seemingly lifeless sitting position on the ground.
