Chapter 8 - Forced to act
When Aerracles, Sharon and Jake arrived in the city with their horse-drawn carriage, they parked it at this massive open place where trading of all sorts of goods and commodities will occur.
So, after parking their carriage properly at a ground that they chose, they began to carry the farm products previously loaded into the horse-drawn carriage to a particular vacant spot in this enormous open place to display them and neatly arrange them in a way that customers will be attracted over and buy what they intend to sell. And just like that, they had set up a temporary open store for their goods.
After finally arranging the farm products which included fruits, herbs, flowers, vegetables, then eggs, poultries and so on which they wanted to sell and displayed them in the most attractive way possible to draw the interest of customers, customers that glanced towards their stall and saw what they were selling, began to come over one after the other to buy certain plant-based or animal-derived goods.
However, Sharon's stall wasn't the only stall temporarily located at this vast trading ground, there were many other larger stalls, with their owners being from the city itself.
At the moment, Jake and his mother had sold a few of their products to customers who came over to their stall to get them.
...
After really long hours of buying and selling that were done by both the buyers and sellers in profitable manners, with the vast trading ground fully occupied by nearly a thousand people that had come from various parts of the colossal city to get one thing or the other for themselves, someone dressed in a really expensive regalia and made him seem like he was someone from either a noble or royal family, and had numerous hefty-looking guards walking behind him, arrived at this large trading ground from a particular grand and imposing carriage that had dropped him there when it arrived at the parking lot. While this person who was dressed in a costly attire and possessed guards walking fiercely behind him, began to scan the stalls located at the trading ground one after the other to see which stall he could go to purchase items for himself.
After scanning for sometime, his eyes settled on the small stall that Sharon's mother had set up hours ago. Then when he saw what she was selling, which were different types or healthy-looking, nutritious juicy fruits that had caught his interest, he produced a rather crafty smile in his face and then signaled for his bodyguards to follow behind him to the stall that he was heading to.
When he arrived before Sharon's stall, he looked at the particular stacks of fruits that had strongly caught his interest and asked with the craftiness that previously appeared in his face, concealed in his gentle and calm voice, as he wasn't willing to give himself away just yet as a rather foxy person, "How much for all of these, ma'am?"
While Sharon's mother who was exceedingly glad that someone who looked blue-blooded, as in had aristocratic blood flowing through his veins had come over to her store to buy the fruit items that she was selling, swiftly responded with great delight and enthusiasm radiating off of her mature voice, "Young Master, for all of that, it will simply cost you a hundred and sixty-five bronze coins."
"Ohhh. That's nice. But I can't pay that kind of amount for these fruits that look as if they were strongly forced to grow by some artificial mean. Their quality look so bad, are unhealthily large, and are simply unattractive to the eyes. You should be thankful that I came to your stall to buy these fruits off your hands, or no else is going to buy them from you and will definitely be left to waste. So, for these reasons, I will pay you only forty bronze coins for them." The young man dressed in a princely regalia, said with a slight sly smile creeping up his lips.
Now that he had seen a small stall that he could try all that his rather mischievous dad taught him regarding trading, as in buying and selling to rake in more profit for himself, he was ready to go all out and obtain what he wanted this day by all means possible.
Once Sharon heard what he seemingly dismissively said, she couldn't help but quickly grow a mad expression in her face. But there was nothing she could do against this young man that seemed to come from a noble or kingly family.
"Young Master, if you have no interest in what I am selling, you can go to other stalls that abound here. I will not have you intentionally downgrade the quality of the fruits that I want to sell to other customers that are willing to buy. Thank you." Sharon said in the most calm and polite way that she could, but she was boiling with anger within and only tried to hold back herself from spitting fire on him.
"I see." The young man that Sharon referred to as a Young Master, said with a wicked smile surfacing in his face.
He then said in a serious manner the next moment with a glow of craftiness shining forth from within his eyes, "Either you sell that large pile of fruits to me at that price, or you forget about your stall which I will order my guards to demolish. But that wouldn't be all, since I will further command them to load your fruit items scattered here and there into my carriage parked at the parking lot."
"However, I believe that is something that you would like to prevent, right?" The young master said further with a solemn expression in his face as he gazed at the helpless and bitter-looking Sharon.
While Sharon who clearly heard what the young man standing before her arrogantly mentioned, stared at him with blazing anger, hopelessness and a dispirited look in her eyes.
She then opened her mouth a while later to helplessly say that she will agree to his demand.
But before she could say anything, Aerracles who stood solidly behind behind Sharon and had been thinking of what to do to the young man without exposing himself as some deity to the people around him, or his cover will be blown, looked at the young man with an inexplicable look appearing in his face.
And as an impulsive person and someone that wouldn't let bad things happening in front of him slide, and was even a prosecutor of crimes in his own world, he said to the young man with concealed towering anger in his voice, "Young Master or whatever you are called, I will advise that you leave here now! Or you will not like what will happen to both you and your guards next."
Once Aerracles said that, Sharon quickly turned around to look at him and said with an imploring expression in nervously rolling eyes and sweaty face, "Aerracles, no. Don't do that. He is someone probably from a wealthy, noble family. If you dare to do anything to him, or so much talk to him in a manner that will upset or anger him, his family will come for you and try to lock you up in jail for as long as they wish. They are powers that can't be messed with. So, let me handle this in the way that there will be no consequences whatsoever."
Hahaha!
Aerracles suddenly laughed carelessly.
He then said within himself with a look of contempt in his eyes at the young master, 'His mortal family will jail a winged divinity like me? I would love to see how that will happen.'
Aerracles then spoke to Sharon who was taken aback by his abrupt carefree laughter, "Damn the consequences. This airheaded arrogant fellow and his stupid noble family can't do anything to me."
And once Aerracles confidently said that, he stared down at the young man with a type of otherworldly gaze that simply caused blood to begin to flow to the young master's head and caused him to develop seriously hurting bloodshot eyes, a strongly aching head, and severely bleeding nose all in the next instant.
Then when he ceased operating the type of mysterious gaze that he glared at the young master with, Aerracles said with some sort of formless, violently-pushing mystical power embedded in his voice that only the people focused on could actually hear.
"Leave here once!"
