During the last few days of walking we have faced a few beasts that were stupid enough to try and take on an entire army but nothing can compare to what is infront of me now.
A bald middle aged man with a weird shaped head dressed in rags pointing a sword at me I could sense he had no aura and he is obviously not a mage.
That meant a man with no aura or magic believed he could take on a force of 2000 soldiers by himself and succeed.
The old man started speaking.
"Hand me your varublles"
I replied a bit confused.
"Do you mean valuables?"
The old man spoke.
"Shut up"
He started running towards me so I sent out my red threads to restrict him but he dodged by weaving around them in a graceful way almost like a leaf in the wind.
Fuck! he has a martial art! unfortunately for him I have been practising... a few seconds passed and now the old man is on the ground trapped beneath a net of threads.
He spoke and tried to flail.
"Hey let me go I'll kill ya youngsters!"
I spoke at kyle.
"Kyle can you have someone get some rope? I don't want to kill him but he will just attack us if we let him go and someone might get hurt"
Kyle nodded his head and replied.
"On it"
As soon as he was tied up we were on the move again I was at a bit of a loss at what to do with the old man but I should be able to pass him off at the upcoming city.
Traunist is a trade city run by merchants it is closer to a fortified market and it has no actual 'state' the rich merchants just hire a bunch of mercenaries to keep everyone safe.
It also happened to be only a half day walk from where the imperial forces were stationed so it would be an important stop for the soldiers to recuperate.
Then Jeremy started speaking to me he was in charge of the healers in this battle I honestly thought about barring him since he is useless at fighting but he is a sergeant so I figured he has a right especially since he won't be in the front lines.
"Your highness I don't think we have enough bandages or that surgical thread you had the artisans craft"
I was taken aback and spoke.
"What?! I made sure that we had everything how much are we missing?"
Jeremy replied.
"Well we only have enough for 1000 people but we have 2000 people"
I now understood the problem and replied.
"Jeremy... do you expect everyone to get hurt?"
He looked surprised and spoke.
"Of course we're headed for a battlefield right?"
I nodded and replied.
"Yes but most won't be fighting and a lot of people won't even be on the battlefield it's a siege not a one on one battle I'm not sending everyone in a foreign city to get slaughtered by enemy armies and locals think about what happened in Serothor"
A look of realisation appeared on Jeremy's face and I shook my head and we continued walking until sunset at our pace we might actually make it to Traunist by tomorrow evening.
Tonight we would have gruel for dinner since it was easy and cost-effective plus we have some very stale bread that needs to be used.
I made sure that the old man was fed and that he was fine then I went through my journal making sure everything was set and all my plans were in order.
If anything I am more confident about this than Serothor because I know the outcome the city's leader is forced to sign a contract by the iron empire and the other armies are repelled by locals and the iron empire.
In otherwords we lose but that just means I can make it the best loss possible by minimising casualties and making Serothor a respected voice to the imperial army of the empire.
Then I went into my tent and spoke to Oz.
"Hey Oz how is that teleportation spell going?"
He replied annoyed.
"Wow... you care more about a spell than me?"
I chuckled and spoke.
"Why are you so annoyed? I know we are a teenager but I don't think hormones are meant to effect souls"
Oz spoke with venom.
"Oh shut up I'm tired ok! I'm tired of not having a body and everyday having to watch someone else enjoy it I am tired of feeling nothing I'm also tired of not being able to physically help having to work on some stupid teleportation spell to even contribute"
I was stunned and spoke.
"Why didn't you say this stuff before! I can't help you if you stay quiet! do you want to use the body tomorrow night?"
I heard a gasp then Oz spoke.
"Really you would let me do that?"
I replied.
"Yeah I mean it's your body if you actually demanded it I would let you take control as long as what you do doesn't hurt us or conflict with my values"
Oz replied.
"Okay then it's a promise tomorrow night I get to do what I want"
I spoke.
"Yes it's a promise"
I fell asleep and dreamed of fire a city filled with fire people with burnt crispy skin and a man with black clothes walking around the city slashing people in two.
I woke up in a cold sweat I already knew everything but it was still frightening to actually have a premonition about it.
I waited until dawn and made sure everyone was ready then we started walking again it was only a small matter of time before we reached the city of Traunist and then the city of fire.
