Chapter 1 - a week after transmigrating, prologue

It has been a week since I transmigrated into the body of second Prince Zeth and I did not fool around first thing I did was lock myself in the library surprisingly I was able to read the new letters and symbols quite easily.

I had learnt that I was the second prince of a small country basically a city state at first I was at a loss about what to do but I found the original zeth's diary and after reading a bit I discovered that he was a total recluse.

He barely interacted with his family let alone the public and he didn't have much etiquette training all this gave me quite a bit of leeway about how to act.

Whilst reading in the library I discovered that this world was a magical one but after reading how the magic worked I realised that I had transmigrated into a novel series I had read recently this was not a good thing.

This world was large and judging by the date the war of nations would soon begin the book originally followed a young knight from the great empire as the war intensified and the subsequent global tragedies.

The war of nations was basically a conquest war between the three largest nations on the continent which leads to them taking territory and as a result smaller nations were also targeted causing what was essentially a world war.

The country I just happened to transmigrate in was actually in the story well the city was used as an important strategic position.

This is because it is directly in the centre of all three major nations and was surrounded by thee smaller kingdoms so it was apparently fast to fall.

At first I started to freak out but there was still three months before the war started and I was in a high position meaning I should be able to do something at least.

I started formulating a plan starting with influencing my family to prepare for war which was why I was currently kneeling on the floor to my now father the king and pleading my case.

"father I kid not I saw a vision of blood and swords making our kingdoms streets run red"

My father had a weird look on his face I was pleading on the ground at a family dinner but he signalled for me to rise and a powerful voice spoke.

"Why are you talking like that? Also no son of mine needs kneel to their father I believe in you but this matter is troubling do you have any recommendations?"

I was a bit caught off guard but I was able to give a reply.

"Maximise our army numbers and train them, reinforce the city walls and barriers, teach our army a few basic spells, prepare rations and water reserves, start mass producing weapons-"

I was cut off by my father as his calm words spoke.

"you've researched quite a bit haven't you?"

I nodded my head and he continued speaking.

"I will handle the food, water, and barriers Zachary shall manage reinforcing the walls however you yourself must do the rest you have two days to give me your requirements"

Just like that I handed him a piece of paper with my army plans and he read it off out loud.

[population of combat worthy males 16-45 without jobs or high skill and priority jobs = 6000

base army numbers = 500

7000 light armour, swords, spears, and daggers needed

allow any female volunteers

6000 copies of basic spells for adventurers

enough tents for 6000 people

start training healers]

He looked at me and started speaking.

"These requirements... are hard to fulfil but most of them are doable why allow female volunteers?"

he asked an easy question to answer so I did.

"we need the numbers and with magic training many women are just as good as any male recruit and why would we turn away help it is stupid"

he nodded and replied.

"Very well you shall be the general of serothor's army give me a month and I should be able to fulfill these requests though it will make the surrounding nations suspicious if we are destined for war that doesn't matter all too much"

I thanked him them went towards the libary I wouldn't just be idle for a month first up magic.

Magic was a complex thing in this world but I had a few ideas most mages learnt as many spells as possible and grew there spell books to the brim but the protagonist only knew the fire spell spark but was actually able to become one of the best pyromancers in the empire.

I had a similar idea the way this method worked was that as mastery of the spell and element grew so did the freedom of use even unlocking advanced or secondary element use.

I didn't want fire though it was too offensive with limited defence and no other uses.

So I thought about the different elements water was good but it was a valuable resource earth was very good but had several limitations and was closer to fighting the earth to move.

Light and dark magic were too hard to learn so it left one choice which was air magic it had a nice versatility and its advanced and secondary elements were quite appealing so I flipped through an air magic tome

I looked for a good starter spell and decided on breeze the most basic air spell creating a breeze or gust of wind where I wanted.

First I needed to recite the long version of the spell to learn it so I did.

"I summon the east, north, south, and west wind to me and take it into me and breath a breeze"

I felt as if my lungs were devoid of air and a slight breeze went around me before I felt a feeling on my mind as if a small space was filled apparently once my entire mind was filled I gained complete mastery of a spell.

That was actually a lie complete mastery of a spell was impossible with this worlds magic which reminded me I should learn the other power systems of this world starting with a bloodline.
