After I said again the soldiers face changed and he spoke.
"Again? as in another spar?"
In reply I just nodded and took up my stance and so begun the day soldiers started to hid from me he lasted five rounds but collapsed of exhaustion after giving me some feedback so I looked for my next victi- I mean sparring partner.
Next was a young man with a wooden spear he waited for me to attack so I obliged he parried me but I jumped back before he could counter attack.
He filled the space between use quite quickly but I did a low sweep and jumped back again.
In the end he was a trained soldier and I literally only started practising today he lasted ten rounds before he was on the ground gasping for air he was very good at giving feedback.
In the end I sparred with every soldier in the training ground and lost every match but I felt the massive leap of improvement and only had a light sweat by the end of it.
it actually made me more refreshed but now it was evening so I stopped sparring the soldiers and just revised all I had learnt while practising breeze.
I returned to my bedroom and went to bed.
I woke up and repeated yesterday except I stopped at five pm and took a bath the water magic stones filling the tub with luke warm water it was relaxing and after washing my short brown hair I felt extremely nice.
I had a family dinner today according to the diary I always sat across from Zachary and beside my younger sister my grandmother sat next to Zachary and my farther and mother sat at the two ends of the table.
I loved and hated how the previous zeth described his siblings Zachary his older brother a social nerd and Clair a brutish princess.
I walked into the dining hall and sat next to my sister she seemed about nine with shoulder length brown hair and blue eyes like my now mother I looked across the table at my now brother Zachary with black hair and green eyes like mine and my now farther.
It was a pretty quiet dinner then my grandmother with her grey hair and green eyes asked me a question.
"Zeth dear why would the soldiers be calling you the monster prince?"
I coughed and everyone at the table looked at me I regained some composure and replied.
"I have no Idea I guess that I have been sparring with them until they collapse of exhaustion but I have yet to win a spar"
My father looked at me and asked me another question.
"How many soldiers have you sparred with?"
an easy question to answer.
"only one hundred"
Zachary choked a bit this time and my father asked a clarification question.
"You sparred 100 trained soldiers to complete exhaustion in two days and you don't know why they are calling you a monster?"
I felt a look of realisation creep onto my face as I realised how stupid I sounded.
My father sighed and spoke to me.
"I understand that you are worried about your vision but settle down on the sparring please I will not forbid it but 10 a day at maximum am I clear?"
I nodded and dinner continued peacefully.
Just like that a month passed I had almost 'mastered' breeze and I had started winning some of my spars if I fought the original me from a month ago I would of been completely crushed.
My dad had gathered all the combat worthy men and conscripted them, there was 6010 of them.
I asked for the few female volunteers to be separated so I could train them separately and the piles of weapons laid behind me.
I started speaking to the crowd.
"I am second prince Zeth Serothor in two months a great war will begin so in these two months I will be personally training each and every one of you to be soldiers.
Even though I have zero experience if you can survive what I have planned then you have a chance to survive what is to come after.
First off let's go for a little walk"
Though a bit hesitant the all followed my orders we made it outside the city walls I had the five hundred original solders stay in the back to make sure no one got left behind or ditched and I gave my orders.
"keep up with me!"
I started a slow jog everyone seemed fine with it at first but then after the third lap they started groaning asking when it was going to stop.
By the fifth I heard people stop I looked behind me at some people sitting down and gave an order.
"Stand up"
Most people did but a few did not so I was bit more firm.
"Stand up or we will run 5 more laps"
This got all but three men up two 30 year olds and a younger man I had three original soldiers come over and take the two men in their thirties to jail and the young man to the training ground and keep him there.
I called out my verdict.
"Since three of you did not stand up we go another 5 laps however instead of running I will allow walking"
The five laps passed without incident and I allowed them a water break after the sixth we went back to the training ground and I had them all sit in a way where they could see the middle.
In the middle was a nice comfy seat and a table full of food in the seat was the young man probably only 17-20 so about my age above him a sword hanging on a string I gave him the rules of this lesson loud enough everyone could hear.
"Stay in your seat until the sun sets completely since it is late morning you can have as much food and wine as you want in fact I even have several royal entertainers here.
However if you get off this chair before the sun sets this sword will fall on you of course it may fall at any moment.
As for the rest of you you're all going to be reading the book you are given I know for a fact everyone here can read so go ahead I'll just be around"
The next few hours were great fun I gave out extravagant food to everyone but as time went on the young man named kyle grew pale and kept glancing at the sword.
Eventually everyone noticed how scared he looked and many noticed how the sword swayed with the wind.
As soon as the sun fully set I walked up to kyle and spoke loud enough for everyone to hear.
"This is what I feel every day waiting for the incoming war you may get off the seat now"
Hearing my partially true words many of the new soldiers faces went dark as they imagined the feeling.
Kyle jumped off the seat and as he did I sat down causing looks of shock on many peoples faces and I continued speaking.
"Just because a sword is above me doesn't mean I am controlled by it but I am still scared of it.
It is okay to be scared, to be sad hell I don't care if you're angry or in love just don't let these feelings control you.
I am not doing this for myself I could very easily go to a strong country and have a chance at living with my family's funds I am doing this because I am your prince and I don't want you to die and I don't want this country to fall"
