When Benny had asked if she was up for shopping, being partnered with a pale woman surrounded by guards was not usually what would come to mind.
There were two guards behind them and two in front. Alexandra knew there were more hiding somewhere, watching them from afar. Benny really didn't want so much of a scratch on his wife. That was an order he had given all the men before they left.
She focused her emerald green eyes on the pale woman, and empathy quickly filled her heart. Deborah looked a whole lot thinner compared to the last time Alexandra saw her, which was at the wedding. She looked sick now. Perhaps losing both parents at such important events could do that much to a person.
Alexandra did not know whether or not to say it. She was here to try and make friends with her, so they had to start talking at some point.
She licked her lips before saying, "I am really sorry about what happened to your parents. You did not deserve that."
