After breakfast they head out to the pack lands, as soon as she stepped out of Seth's double-story house, she realized that they weren't in the city anymore, not even close. As the fresh cool breeze hit her and the scene of the beautiful green forest stretched out before her, she couldn't help but admire the serene view. The big trees of all sorts of different species seemed to stretch from the earth to the heavens. She could hear the chirping of birds and the movement of different forest animals. Everything seemed so peaceful. She has always been fond of nature and animals. She felt at home there.
"Where exactly are we?" Angelica asked Seth with a hint of concern in her voice. "We are on pack lands owned by my family it's about hours' drive out of the city. It's privet property and secluded so my pack members have more freedom here." Seth replied trying to calm her concerns.
"That makes sense, I mean if people found out werewolves actually exist, they'd have a field day with it." Angelic. "Exactly, that's why it has to remain a secret. It's my job to protect them." Seth said with an enduring tone. She hadn't known him long, but she knew he cared a lot about his pack. She could see it in the way he spoke about them and acted.
He must really love his pack a lot, Angelica thought to herself. Seth was surprised to hear these thoughts. Since she found out he can read her mind she had been trying to avoid thinking around him. He was happy to hear that she thought so fondly of his behavior towards the people whose well-being he had overseen since he was 15. He silently hoped that one day she will care for them as much as he does.
They got into his car, and he drove them to the packed village where the other werewolves live. There is a cobblestone rod leading from his house to the village. His house was on the outskirts of town and surrounded by lots of trees and other plants for privacy but the packhouse where all official business is conducted is across the town center where a small play park is.
As they drove to the village Angelica sat and stared out of the window at how different it was from the big human cities. There were no fences. Some of the buildings were large and modern, well others seemed more vintage. She swore she even saw a hospital, a version of a mall, a clothing store, and some signs reading: Theatre, Farmlands, Hunting Grounds, Prison.
From this, she deduced that the pack could function almost independently from the rest of the world, but there were clothes stashed everywhere and some men walking around shirtless.
Thank goodness Seth is wearing a shirt, I don't think I could handle all these women staring at his bare chest when I haven't even seen it. What am I thinking he probably walks around like that too? Why am I thinking of him shirtless? As her thoughts started to run wild Seth couldn't help but chuckle at them. When he did that, she remembers he could read her mind and her cheeks flushed bright red, embarrassed at her own thoughts of HIM.
"No fair, I want to be able to read your mind too," Angelica said with a pout, cheeks still red. He had never seen her act like that before. "You are too cute; I could just eat you up. Don't worry about the mind link, I'll teach you." Seth said, leaned over, and kissed her on the side of her head.
The car stopped in front of the large, white, double-story packhouse. It is a rather old building, and that fact was reflected in its architecture. Although it's old it is well maintained.
He got out of the car first, walked around, and opened the door for Angelica. From the moment he stopped the car, the pack started to gather around hoping to catch a glimpse of their Alpha and their mysterious new Luna.
Although he originally planned to keep her secret until they were a lot closer and she was more likely to accept the pack and her place in it since she was kidnapped and he had to rescue her, word of her existence spread through the village like wildfire. And with good reason, they wanted to see their Luna. The one who captured the heart of their cold and domineering alpha.
They all wondered what she would be like. What would she look like? How would she change the pack and the Alpha?
When the small 19-year-old redhead stepped out of the car, they were quiet. She wasn't at all anything like what they were expecting. They were expecting someone more mature. Someone more confident. Someone who would be able to lead them by Alpha Seth's side, not some child barely out of leading strings.
Angelica could feel all the eyes on her and the tension in the air. From the look of the pack, they didn't exactly look happy to see her. She could see the mixed feelings in their expressions. She knew they wouldn't dare to do anything to her, as Seth was right next to her. As far as she could tell no one would dare to challenge the Alpha.
Seth sensed the tension and could feel Angelica growing anxious, before the situation could escalate, he knew he had to do something. "Shall we go in?" Seth asked holding his hand out to her. She took his hand and nodded. With that, he led her into the packhouse and to his office.
