Chapter 10 - Meeting the pack part 3

The pack house is beautifully decorated elegantly. The walls of the hallway leading to his office were lined with the portraits of all of the former alphas. Underneath each portrait was their name and death date. Somehow looking at them made her sad. She thought about how one day Seth's portrait would be hanging here as well.

Among all the portraits she stopped in front of the portrait of Seth's father. Seth looked just like him with the exception of his eye color that he got from his mother.

They got into his office and the door behind them was closed angelica felt like she could finally breathe. "They hate me!" angelica said to Seth in a discouraged voice, walked past him, and said on the chair opposite the desk chair and sat down. As he was led past him all he could do was let her walk he could feel how upset he was at their reaction, and this broke his heart. He walked to the opposite side of the desk and sat down the two of them were now sitting face to face, before he could say anything, she continued "I don't even know why I Care? I mean their all strangers to me, and I didn't choose any of this".

"I know honey, but it still means a lot to me…they are our pack." Seth continued. Angelica could feel the anger boiling up in her, so far she has kept her mouth shut and went along with it for her mother's sake as well as the fear for her life to motivate the silence, but he has gone too far now. Angelica stood up, and slammed her hands on the desk in front of her, a loud thud could be heard throughout the room. "Honey...? Our Pack...? When exactly did I agree to any of this?! Don't mistake my silence for acceptance! We made out once and even that didn't last long…. I never agreed to be yours and I never agreed to be your Luna! And I most certainly never AGREED TO BE YOUR MATE!" Angelica was spitting out the words, staring him straight in the eyes. It was clear she had had enough!

Seth was upset and confused at her words "But I Thought…´ he was then interrupted but her "Well you thought wrong, trying to emotionally manipulate me? Trying to buy me? Well, that's not going to work". "Manipulate you! Buy you!" Seth was now yelling too "Is that how you see me?" Seth continued "Well how do you expect me to see you? You had me investigated, you paid for my mom's surgery without even asking me, or at the very least letting me know, it's not like you don't have my number! And then telling me I have 'to be with you or you'll die!? So please enlighten me as to how I should see you, cause clearly, actions speak louder than words!" Angelica said placing emphasis on the word You.

Seth had nothing to say in his defense, he knew that he had acted irrationally which wasn't like him. When it came to Angelica it was like he had no sense or reason. He just wanted to protect her, love her, and care for her, but he was doing it all the wrong way.

He stared at her blankly as if all of his fears had been realized. She hates me and I can't blame her… I should have handled the situation better he thought to himself.

"Well don't you have something to say? You want to take my life and freedom away from me and you can't even say anything?" Angelica's anger was replaced by a feeling of deep sorrow and tears began to stream down her face. Seeing her face stained with tears because of him broke his heart. He wanted to be the source of her joy, not her pain. She was overwhelmed by the surge of emotion she had been holding back, everything that she had gone through last night and now.

She couldn't take it anymore and she started to run, out of the office, through the pack house, past the town square, and into the forest. She ran as fast and as far as she could. She ran as if her life depended on it. Like she was running away from all her problems.

Angelica is really fit and fast as she often ran marathons for fun (and the money) and she almost always placed first. Running was her source of comfort; it gave her a sense of freedom.

She continued to run deeper and deeper into the forest. Everything began to look the same a blurred image passing by fast. She had been running for nearly 30 minutes is seemed. She was now lost deep in the forest.

She stopped running and looked around, but she was surrounded by trees. Completely alone, then she heard the sound of running water and walked towards it. There she found a beautiful crystal-clear river. The scene looked serene. She sat down on the grass next to the river, scooped up some of the water in her hands, and rinsed her tear-stained face.

Being there helped her to calm down. Even though she was completely lost, she felt at peace.

Meanwhile:

Seth was so shocked by what Angelica had said to him and the fact that she ran out crying that he only came back to reality after about 5 minutes. By that time, she was already long gone. He rushed out of the office looking for a possible sign of where she went.

He ran into the forest while undressing. "We have to find a mate." Seth's wolf growled. The forest was dangerous for a human to be alone in. If something happened to her, he would never be able to forgive himself.

In an instant, Seth's human form was gone and was replaced with his wolf. An abnormally large black wolf with steel-blue eyes. He caught hold of her scent and tracked her down at full speed.

Dame, how fast is she? She didn't even have that much of a head start? He found her sitting serenely next to the river. The scene was breathtaking.
