Once again, the line went straight to her voicemail. It was noon on the fifth day in the month of May. Times without number, I had tried to get across to Ariana but every damn time, the call went straight to her voicemail. I had already sent off series of text but yet again, I was met with silence. I sent another just as his phone rang, the caller ID read "mum". He hadn't heard from his mother in a while and was quite surprised by this call.
He had been living with Dylan all these days and he knew she missed him. Everything was in a bid to ease the pressure they were facing at home.
"Hi mum."
"Young man, how are you? You've refused to check up on me and so, I decided to check up on my only son", she said.
"Mum, you know I've been very busy with work and the game. Did you see me play yesterday?", I laughed.
"Of course I did and you played brilliantly. I'm so proud of you. Anyway, that's not why I called", she said.
