School had already resumed and to say I was happy to be seeing Ariana would be an understatement, I was ecstatic. Ever since I asked her out, there was this noticeable glow around me that my mother even saw. She had asked me times without number what was responsible for it but I just didn't want to tell her quite yet.
Our relationship was still very young and I didn't want to announce quite yet until it was strong enough. I knew no one in school knew about it and I loved it that way. Ariana was one girl I didn't want to joke with. She meant so much to me and I knew I'd be the greatest fool if I hurt the love she had for me.
"Mom, I'm off." I called.
As usual, dad had gone out already. He was working really hard to get our family back on track and for that, I would continually be grateful to him. We were better off than how we came at the very beginning and i owed it all to my parents.
