Lee Yong forced himself not to be distracted by the beauty anymore and decided to focus on the issue. He narrowed his eyes at the pretty boy, wondering if the boy had any talent for dance.
But the more Lee Yong saw, the more he noticed how the choreographer did not fit the filthy rumours. "For someone who became the talk of the company, you don't look much to it!"
Lee Yong meant the choreographer looked like someone who would not fit into the cheap rumours he heard. He also did not want others to know his implication.
True to that, everyone looked at Lee Yong like he had grown a second head. No one expected him to mock the new choreographer based on the rumours on his face.
To his surprise, the new choreographer understood the meaning.
"Wise man tends to see past the word on the street!" Haneul was not stingy regarding words - be it praise or contempt.
He did call the band leader a wise person for not standing by the rumours. But apart from the band leader, no one understood the implication. Haneul decided to put an end to chit-chat and focus on the work.
But to everyone, this response made them look at the choreographer in a new light - a positive light. After all, he did not react badly and responded humbly. At the same time, the man was not a pushover - he politely returned the jab.
"Is it true you were supposed to join us a few days back but decided to take your sweet time? Or did you think you are too good to be the choreographer to us!" Lee Yong asked before he could think.
Haneul was annoyed with the band leader's constant interruption of the work and the sense of superiority. He wanted to lash out and give it back to the man, so he could finally focus on the work.
But Haneul had to keep his tone teasingly as he did not want to fight with any artist on his first day of work. "Omo! Look at the celestials jumping to the conclusion as if they know me! But it is not like your group had achieved so much for me to jump up at the offer and take up the job as your choreographer so eagerly!"
True to his words, Haneul did not consider Celestials a successful band even though the entire company thought otherwise. For him, it was just any other band that believed they were special but lacked real achievement.
He turned away from the band leader dismissively and decided to discuss something with the manager.
Lee Yong became furious at the dismissive attitude. He did not like the pretty eyes looking at someone that was not him.
"Why are you even here as a choreographer? Do you even know how to dance? If you were any good, you would have debuted and not failed as an idol trainee back then, right?" Lee Yong let out all the anger and frustration he had felt all these days through his words.
Both his words and tone were brutal as he poked at the old wound. Everyone around him sucked in their breath.
Go Dae-Kyun glared at Lee Yong. He wanted to punch the idiot before him for ripping an old scar off his precious maknae.
The words did not faze Haneul, and he did not give any reaction. He turned back and looked at the band leader without breaking eye contact; he spoke. "I truly expected better behaviour from the so-called celestials, but it looks like they are nothing but a gossip monger who pretends to behave like they are others. Another commoner in the street who lacks basic manners. You guys are nothing but an average band who were lucky to have a good name - celestials! Apart from the name, there is nothing celestial (angelic) about you."
After that, Haneul turned to the manager with eyes full of pity. "It must be hard for you to work with a bunch of adults who are no different from impulsive teenagers and does nothing but throw tantrums!"
The manager neither agreed nor disagreed with the statement as he simply smiled back.
Chung Seok understood that things had gone down to hell, but he needed to figure out why their band leader and the choreographer had suddenly become sworn enemies. So he looked to their band leader for help in understanding the issue. But he shut his mouth when he saw the face of their band leader.
Kim Ji Yu and Ji Yun Soo were happy to know that their choreographer was not a pushover and a brave man who stood against their band leader. Even though the man practically insulted them, he stood against their band leader. Their admiration grew for him, and they decided to make the choreographer their new crime partner at any cost.
Lee Yong glared at the blatant disrespect. He was seething mad and was one step away from grabbing the fragile little choreographer by the collar and throwing him against the wall.
Ji Yu and Yun Soo also noticed their band leader's temper. So they decided to get some dignity back and appease the seething boss. They have to come up with something to protect their new crime partner from the wrath of their boss. So they decided to speak against the choreographer and calm the situation.
"Watch your attitude if you want to work here! Who do you think you are?" Yun Soo tried his best to look intimidating. He hates confrontation the most, but he wanted to keep this brave choreographer with their band for a long time.
Haneul smiled at the useless threat considering it was his boss who owned the majority of CraZe's share, and no one could throw him out.
"How old are you? Fifteen? Behaving like a petty teenager who is so full of himself!" Kim Ji Yu taunted the choreographer.
"I am just two years younger than your band leader - Lee Yong. Are you saying your band leader is seventeen, then?" The choreographer arrogantly asked.
